Just because she "took responsibility" in the heat of the moment doesn't mean she had the authority to dispatch the NG. It states as much in the article. She said "them" when referencing protection, which could, and likely did, mean the capitol police, which she does have authority over. Her biggest failure was trusting the intelligence reports leading up to the day, which were woefully inaccurate. Anyone else would have, and did, do the same. Trump had the power to dispatch NG, and he did not. Gross negligence is the kindest term for what he did and didn't do that day. Treason is more apt, IMO.
