Not to mention all other Earthlings. We are incredibly fortunate that there hasn't been some kind of catastrophe yet, but there will be. Whether a terrorist attack, weather event, or something else, it will only take one for the even more folks to realize how much emergency response capability has been dismantled. Quite the stroke of luck for the Don that immediately after dynamiting FEMA, we had the quietest hurricane season in years (I mean the ones that affected the black Caribbean people don't really count, amirite?).

This is exactly what I expect to happen. It's already being choreographed. -

That's the nicest post I've ever seen from you. But would you mind terribly explaining what exactly the falsehood is? -
Marjorie Taylor Greene is starting to get it about mass deportation
Fnord replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Hilarious that this would need to be explained to a grown adult. To be clear, I said "someone I'd consider voting for." Obviously subtle clarifications are lost on max trannykill. -

Oh look. Everyone's favorite GC fascist supports terrorizing fellow Americans because of their skin color. Odd route to take for someone claiming to be black. But I guess cribbing plot points from a film called The Jerk and using them as a life hack is firmly in your wheelhouse, so carry on. -

I'm not trying to fool anyone. I'm an open book. It’s not my fault you can't read. I am still waiting for you to post something relevant that isn't a personal attack, though. I make posts relevant to subject matter almost daily. You? Notsomuch. -
After watching that in the theater, I walked out thinking "I've never done acid, but I feel like I know what a trip would be like after seeing that." A couple years later I found out I wasn't far off.

Stranger Things is prophetic. There is an Upside Down, and we have been teleported there. MTG suddenly behaving like someone I would consider voting for. Sanity is crumbling. -

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THAT ARTICLE!!!! The corruption is absolutely stunning, out in the open, enabled by right wing media and hordes of folks that have been told they can't trust actual journalism. This is the American death spiral, MAGA, and you are responsible. Wake the hell up.

NY Times talks to 60+ current and former DOJ attorneys. They are mad as hell at how corrupt the DOJ has become. Even in the context of today's politics, it's an insane read. It's a long subscriber-only article. If someone can tell me how to make a hidden box in this ridiculous forum, I'll put it in there, but don't want to pollute the page with a wall of text. @SaintsInDome2006, I think you may know?

Humanity? You don't have to worry about it. -
The New York Times published a story after speaking with over 60 different DOJ attorneys that went on record describing how the Trump admin has completely flipped the DOJ into a tool of retribution and fear and completely demolished its ability to do much else. Many of these attorneys used their names. Let me know if you wanna read it. I suspect a lack of names is not what your real aversion is to these stories, but that's just my opinion. ETA: Here it is if you want to see a well sourced and vetted story, replete with names, describing the rampant corruption at DOJ from the inside. Thanks to @SaintsInDome2006 for the spoiler tip

Well journalistic standards dictate multiple sources corroborating a story, and that those sources be vetted. I suspect you're of the opinion that these outlets just make stuff up, but they do not. Mistakes are made, of course. That's what retractions are for, as well as libel and slander laws. Anonymity of the sources protects them from retaliation. Seems to me that you are more likely to dismiss what you don't want to hear than I am. If you're never going to trust anonymous sources you might as well just believe everything politicians tell you. Maybe you're okay doing that, I'm not.

Yeah, my biggest impediment to listening to them is finding a functioning tape deck/boom box. Well, that and the ridiculous convenience of streaming. -

He did some cameos in other Kevin Smith movies (Mallrats for sure, Chasing Amy?) but otherwise nothing I'm aware of. -
Would you prefer that media just parrot what the administration is willing to talk about? Was Nixon being caught for Watergate a bad outcome? The release of the Pentagon papers? This, along with many other examples, is a fairly new line of attack against journalism and other outcomes one may not appreciate. "Activist judges" and "lower courts can't tell POTUS what to do" are a couple more. These are foundational parts of the American experiment, discarded in the rush to absolve Trump of all potential abuses.

It's Friday, bruh. What's with all the tough questions? Voted Ozzy more successful, but Sabbath debut because it was more groundbreaking. Blizzard is one of the great heavy rock albums ever, though.

Parents call out unfairness as trans pitcher throws shutout in Minnesota softball state quarterfinals
Fnord replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
So let's say you worked with someone that was trans woman, or were introduced through a friend. This individual was born a man but now looks (mostly) female and identifies as she/her. Are you refusing to use their preferred pronouns? -
