I'm not calling out conservatives; I'm calling out THE conservative whose posts barely skirt threats of violence, who consistently and erroneously lumps huge populations of people together in dehumanizing fashion, using dehumanizing terms, peddling constant hate toward them. Nobody else here is doing this, so I feel pretty justified calling him a radical. Among other, less flattering terms.

We've been watching for years with a mix of astonishment, amusement, and pity as Jon slowly gets more radicalized. He now closely resembles a terrorist with his rhetoric, complaining about the authoritarian bastard bootlickers dehumanizing he and his fellow patriots while eagerly doing the same to all liberals and anyone that calls him out on his ignorance. In the rare instances he manages to avoid being that guy in his posts, he can be insightful and bring up good points. Alas, those days are pretty much gone.

I've only been here for a few years, but would love it if you expressed these more nuanced positions more often. I had you pegged as a staunch conservative; not MAGA but someone unlikely to entertain voting D. Cool to know I was at least partially wrong. The word games played and assumptions made around here are preschool level stupid. We need more posters willing to go against that grain.

Link? I try not to do that. I'm not the guy that demonizes all conservatives. I do go after MAGAmooks hard, but not run of the mill conservatives. I have quite a bit in common with them.

Hamas was "voted in" almost 20 years ago. What segment of Palestinians still support them? If Joe Biden ordered an attack on a pro-Trump rally because of some high value targets in the crowd, are you okay with being told you support it simply because Biden is your president?

I can empathize with Palestinians while still denouncing Hamas. I can empathize with Israelis but still call out Israel for human rights abuses and having a focked up government without being an anti-semite. I can support LGBTQ rights while respecting the rights of those that are anti-LGBTQ to peacefully protest. These things are not mutually exclusive. Don't conflate those that support a movement with the minority of extremists within the same movement. Way too much of that shite going on. It's not the same thing.
