Is the national media now supposed to report on every horrible thing that one American does to another? Murder and assaults happen every day; we're supposed to be outraged when we aren't made aware of one and ascribe ill intent toward journalists for not reporting it? When I was in my early 20s I worked at a podunk radio station in Nowhereville, IA. I was in charge of collecting local news. At one point the station manager got mad at me because I didn't mention on the air during my newscast that Joe Blow hit a deer on county road Whatever and did WGAF amount of damage to his car. I told him I didn't consider that news, I considered it gossip. He told me those were the stories listeners wanted to hear. I was gone within a month. That's really discouraging to hear. Obviously my experience has been different. I've only worked for one company that would be considered a national or global "player." I am a hiring manager in my department and we have NEVER been told to hire on any grounds other than merit, or at least potential. Obviously it's good if we can hire a minority, but they won't beat out a better qualified white guy, ever.

If it were a Trump kid, MAGAmooks would find excuses as to why it wasn't a big deal, and whitewash the story. They've done it over and over. The distinctions I'm seeing are that for the most part, those of us that voted for Biden support his impeachment and removal if it can be proven he's guilty. In MAGA world, everything Trump and his cohort do is defensible, and every effort to curtail his worst bahvior is a partisan attack with no merit.

Agreed. It is one of my favorite books, but the ending is garbage. I read all of his earlier books through his cocaine addiction phase, which I think ended around the time of Tommyknockers. Haven't liked him nearly as much since. Everything up to It was great.

Yup. I sleep well but can't fall asleep much before midnight and up no later than 6. 5-6 hours of sleep is standard at least 5X per week. If my wife gets less than 7 on any given night she's a mess. I have coworkers that arrive the same time as I do that are in bed asleep at 9 every night. Cowards.

Good post. I was just gonna make a sparky remark about the OP, but this caught my eye as I've thought the same things myself. Since we as a species have no real idea what's out there, we also have no idea what it looks like or is made of. I doubt the periodic table is inclusive of every element in the universe.
