I grew up in a rural area, pretty much completely devoid of minorities. When I was a kid, we WERE the minority. Ever seen undercover cops at a keg party? I have. Ever been pulled over, searched, and grilled because you had the audacity to stop at a soda vending machine at 1:00 am? I have. Been questioned and searched because you were wearing shorts outside in the middle of winter? Pulled over late at night because the cop saw you drinking a big gulp while driving and assumed there was alcohol in it? Obviously this is nothing compared to what can occur in a city, but it exemplifies my point. FWIW, I was never in trouble in these instances because I wasn't doing anything wrong. But I really fuking hated the local cops, because they targeted the hell out of us for no good reason.

You have a right to say what you want, with very limited exceptions (calling in a bomb threat, for example). That does not mean you SHOULD say whatever stupid thought comes to mind. It also doesn't mean that you get to hide behind the cloak of 1A after saying something abhorrent, and you can't moan about people getting canceled or publicly called out because that's just the cancelers exercising their own rights. I could argue that killing the dandelion is worse because you are ending an actual, independently growing life. A fetus is neither. It is life, yes, but life that cannot grow, function, or live outside of the mother.
