AOC was right. Until Trump, this would have been a complete non-starter for any president of either party. And then to charge the secret service for staying at presidential properties? If Obama had done that, Rush Limbaugh would have stroked out on air and John Boehner wouldn't have been able to convene the impeachment inquiry quickly enough to appease Republicans. And then there's the little bit about not divesting himself from his highly lucrative business interests... Republicans would have NEVER tolerated that from a dem. And likely still wouldn't if we're being honest. Trump’s whole presidency was one big, long example of a conflict of interest that, up until him, wouldn't have been tolerated by anyone. It still shouldn't.

Oh come on. The Dems didn't even want to impeach Trump the first time, they knew it wouldn't go anywhere and would make Trump a martyr for his fanatical faithful. His actions demanded impeachment. The second impeachment was open and shut, 100% deserved; cowardly Republicans are the reason this asshat is still a thing. I understand we aren't going to agree here, but if you are really honest with yourself, I think you'd agree that if a Democratic POTUS had done the same things Trump did, he would have been impeached and removed well before the end of his first term. Justifiably so.

Your misinterpretation. Women, or anyone, pursuing goals is admirable. While I find these sorts of contests ridiculous and reductive (even if the scenery is enjoyable) and would never encourage my own daughter to participate in such a thing, it's a free country. If others want to compete, I have no issue with it. I think that ultimately it is damaging toward women, but we willingly do lots of damaging things to a wide array of people daily. C'est la vie.

Some of the bored conservatives would be shocked if they knew how much I agree with them on many issues. The single most divisive and negative internal influence America has seen since the Civil War. I'm in agreement with Gutter and Tim on many political topics, but not here. Kilroy and I had a convo in another thread about this, and I have no problem calling a mandate to NOT hire white men highly discriminatory AT BEST, and probably flat-out racist. I'm a hiring manager where I work, at a large company highly invested in DEI. I have NEVER been told, or even had it insinuated, that anything other than merit should be considered when extending an offer. If someone told me not to hire white men, I'd loudly take it to legal and compliance, and the individual that told me to do that would be in a world of shlt. Racism is racism, regardless of the skin color of the perp or the victim. Ain't no such thing as reverse racism. Blacks that hate whites are every bit as bad as whites that hate blacks, even if they may have more definitive personal reasons for the hate.

If a POTUS I voted for pulled the J6 shenanigans I'd have been okay calling him out for being a traitor and watching him swing (after due process, of course).
