I think if a POTUS was elected with this as a stated part of his platform/campaign, that he was transparent about it, and did not have the ridiculous baggage Trump carries, it would make a huge difference. Also, thank you. Monkey is the nicest thing I've been called today! Let me know if you have any lice you need picked from your hide.

DFTT. @thegeneral too.

But why do you care? It's not just gay people that try to stand out in a crowd. Do you get pissed when a gorgeous woman dresses provocatively? When an old biker wearing ancient leather that stinks like crap has to move his 3 foot beard out of the way to light a Camel? When a young kid wearing ripped jeans and sporting a 15" green mohawk crosses your path? The skinhead with tats all over his neck and face? Where do you draw the line and not be aggrieved?

Yup. You don't have to like it, I know I don't. They did nothing illegal and were well within their rights. As are you decrying their beliefs. Hopefully they are stupid hillbilly anti-vaxxers and nature will prevail.

Dude is okay with exterminating Palestinians, but that Sesame Street clip with a gay guy in it is a bridge too far.

Which you decried until muh Trump came along and you latched onto him like a remora.

Ah. For some reason I was thinking I'd responded to the General. I get it, you don't like Gutter. He can certainly be an ass, and I've called him out for it in the past. But most of the time, I consider Maxipad a huge troll who cannot be trusted to be truthful.

Well handled! To be clear, while I support the (insert cause here) month stuff, that doesn't mean I love every example of it. A few years ago my family and I were vacationing in Chicago at the end of June and had a really unpleasant experience with one guy in a group of obviously drunk homosexuals that were sharing the L train with us. My daughter was only 4 at the time, and this one guy wouldn't stop being a complete douche, swearing and saying explicit things in front of her, even though others in the group were exhorting him to "tone it down." When I politely asked him to chill out with the language in front of my kids, he swore more and ranted about it being the last day of PRIDE, he'll do and say what he wants, he's out and proud, etc. Fock that guy. I may have pressed the issue further but my kids were there and they got off the train soon after. But I don't hold his behavior against the entire group he was with. This stuff is just part of living in a very large, free country.

I'm gonna need you to be more specific. There are a LOT of trolls.

Just fockin stop already. Bolded isn't true, and you know it. Things some parents find okay, others find abhorrent. I let my kids eat red meat, let my 8 yr old daughter ride her bike around the block unsupervised, let my 13 yr old drive my truck on private property under supervision and swear like a sailor when it's just me and him talking; many parents freak out about these examples. The point is YOU don't get to decide what is okay for MY kids, and vice versa. Speak out all ya want, it's a free country. But that means I can also tell you you're FOS.

You're the morality police now? Making the decisions for the rest of us? Here's a special message for you, translated into your language:

Of course they are! I dislike you for being disgusting. But I'm not starting threads and whining about you like a tittybaby.

Zero chance anything he's saying is truth. IGNORE.

Imagine being such a snowflake that a month dedicated to celebrating a minority population triggers you. Then having the temerity to consider yourselves "real men" and "life winners." Or being someone that's upset about gays wanting affirmation... after literally moving across the focking planet for the express purpose of implanting himself and his family in the reddest groupthink geographical location in US; amongst the same bunch of people that brought us Matt Gaetz.

So... Trump bad now? Or is he still the superhero that's going to save us from all this corruption?
-
I'll go along with your premise. It's plausible, though I tend to trust the media more than you do (I assume). I felt as if Biden was in decline, but I didn't know it was that bad until the debate, which is when the rest of the world also found out. Maybe Maggie Haberman should have known, or Jim Acosta. Should Lester Holt or David Muir have known? Their producers? Biden wasn't exactly out front or in public much, which we now know the reasons for. I think his advisors did a fantastic job at gaslighting us. You claim most of the country could see it, but no doubt you saw it more than I did due to the media you consume. I can say the same about Trump; his inability to put together a coherent sentence or thought, consistently messing up people's names, constant tangential stream of consciousness and non sequiturs, etc. I can tell he's not mentally fit, but you will argue it. FTR, by most accounts, Reagan's second term was probably worse than Biden's, few seemed to care back then, including the media.

From what I've read, there were five key people involved in sequestering Joe away from anyone that would have spilled the beans about his condition. KJP was not one of them. We can argue that the media did not do it's job reporting on it, but it's not like they were being granted interviews on a consistent basis. I'm not in the mindset of blaming the media. I blame Joe, Jill, those close advisors, and the Democratic party and welcome an investigation.

These are not mutually exclusive. You can admit that what Biden's inner circle did was borderline criminal and treasonous while also acknowledging that DJT is grossly unfit for the job and a convicted criminal. It's almost as if neither party really GAF about their constituents.

Did Sidney Sweeney take a dump in it?

100% agreement. I wouldn't say her face is unattractive, but she is faaaar from being some kind of all-time beauty. This made me laugh. Have you had to refi your house yet?

MAHA report cites nonexistent studies, Leavitt blames it on “formatting issues”

Obviously I was being hyperbolic; by how much remains to be seen. Also, Jer-Bear, conservatives level more hate at libs than vice-versa. Based on postings here, it's not even close. Granted, this board may not be a perfect sampling given it's relatively hard-right lean. But hatred of libs has been engrained in conservative politics since the 90s at least, when Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh were at the height of their power. Alsoalso, it's tough to take your repeated "dehumanizing" claims seriously when you continue with the "leftism is a cult" bullshit. I won't deny there is plenty of cult-like groupthink in lib circles, some of which I likely engage in, but there is a literal cult of personality surrounding DJT, undeniably. -
There are probably a few geeks that have ordered this already. IDGAF who sits in the bathwater, this is nasty. Maybe I just take actual cleanliness more seriously than most.

Growing up in MN in the 80s/90s being a Prince fan was engrained. He might have been the most singularly talented American musician ever. There are only three people that I never met that caused me great sadness upon their passing: Lemmy Kilmister, Eddie Van Halen, and Prince Rogers Nelson. Still pissed at myself for not heading to Minneapolis and hanging out at First Avenue the night he died. IIRC, the Superdome was lit in purple that day.
