Overall, For Those About To Rock is not one of their best. But the good songs are all-timers. Title track and Night of the Long Knives really stick out to me. Haven't listened to it's entirety in years. You and I were on a similar trajectory in our youths. I got into punk in the early 90s and most of the classic rock and metal I'd been into sorta faded away. Most of the grunge stuff, while great at the time, bugs me now. But it was my gateway into punk, so it served its purpose.

I long considered AC/DC my favorite band, Back In Black my favorite album, have seen them a couple times now, own all their albums, etc. Flick of the Switch and Stiff Upper Lip are my least favorite. Every original studio album they've released since Razor's Edge (other than SUL) has been somewhere between meh and good. I actually liked Power Up quite a bit and consider it their best album since their heyday. Bon Scott was awesome, but Brian gave them a better voice for their style, and it's hard to argue with the success they've had with him. Where we disagree is with your last statement. Both Blow Up Your Video and The Razor's Edge were fantastic standalone albums and you besmirch both by suggesting they be combined. Some buddies and I had a long conversation about this recently (yes we're dorks, but there were extenuating circumstances) and pretty much unanimously agreed that everything between Back In Black and Razor (except FotS) is underrated, especially Fly on the Wall. Great, great, great band. Definitely on my personal Mt. Rockmore.

But I did give at least two full albums a listen before I became too nauseous to continue.

No one needed the media to tell them that. It was not obvious how far he had fallen cognitively, given that his handlers were obviously protecting him from that coming to light. Fault the media if you want, I'm sure there were some off-the-record conversations about it. But to me the blame lies squarely on his inner circle and the Democratic party at large, to a lesser (but still grotesque) degree.
