Up until the debate, when it became painfully obvious how diminished Biden had become, people paying attention already knew that he was on the downslope, just not how far. We still preferred a half brain-dead Biden to Trump. I still do. Speaking only for myself, per Twatadour's instructions, I announced HERE I would no longer vote for him after the debate. I do not like being lied to, which is one of the reasons I can't stomach Trump. Go ahead and hack away at Biden, he and his inner circle have earned the scorn, along with most of the Democratic party. They suck and I put most of the blame on them for Trump getting elected. But don't be so disingenuous that you can't also admit when your guy makes a blithering mess of something. You've got full control. Whatabouts at this point are just a tell that you can't accept when "your side" is in the wrong. And they are. A lot.

Nobody is arguing that point. Simply pointing out that for all the energy and ink spilled over how wonderful DOGE was, and how finally a POTUS is serious about reducing waste and fraud, this tax cut, which overwhelmingly favors high earners, will add between $3-$4T to the deficit. That, to us, indicates that he does not really care about the deficit and that the performance art centered on the (often illegal) DOGE cuts was propaganda. The true purpose was to rid Trump of many of the persistent guardrails that limited him in his first term.

Quite the opposite. I am thoroughly convinced that MAGA is either completely ignorant of it (often willingly), or is, in the case of those Trump has willingly surrounded himself with, flat-out supporting it (Stephen Miller, Russel Vought, Tom Homan, et al). I know you won't agree, but the evidence is everywhere.

I was unaware that any states allowed this. Glad they do, but wonder if only OR residents "qualify?" More states should embrace this, living wills should allow for those going through what @TheNewGir| described. Insurance companies should be on board too since paying out a life insurance policy is cheaper than years of medical care.

You may have heard, but being a MN pro sports fan is next level misery with 120+ consecutive seasons without even appearing in a championship game/series. We are used to having the rug pulled out unceremoniously and no longer get excited by possibilities. The Wolves have a decent chance at a championship and are a helluva team, but nobody here actually thinks they'll win it, even if they're the best team left (which is debatable).

Lots of deep red gulf coast states have FA'd by electing this windbag, they'll FO later this summer why that was such a momentous mistake. Sucks for them. I have empathy for the loss and betrayal they will feel, but ultimately they did it to themselves.

Hi Mungwater! I'm Fnord. Pleasedtameetcha! Trash is in the eye of the beholder, and as I look around this place... I see a lotta trash. But it's OUR trash, and I for one enjoy wallowing in it! Don't believe everything you hear about the "FBG rejects." Those bltching about that are mostly thin-skinned losers that lack the intellectual bona fides to carry on a real debate.
