LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
Fnord replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Comparing what our forebears sacrificed during WW II trying to stop fascism with today's completely self-induced lunacy by one moron is kinda... shitty. -
🇺🇸Father Trump Talk-🚨The Official Thread of the Week Magaverse🚨Lady Squissy 🚨Trump wins again 👍
Fnord replied to HellToupee's topic in The Geek Club
There's a lot wrong with that video, but the anchor doing his job isn't. He maintained professionalism. My guess is she fainted from never eating and sustaining herself with coffee, diet coke, and amphetamines or cocaine. Gotta keep the MAGA figure! -
Your experience here will be much better now. Still not pleasant, of course, but tolerable.

It would! Unfortunately, there's a better chance of both of us being gifted pet dragons to ride around on this weekend.

Department of Justice opens criminal investigation into NY AG Letitia James
Fnord replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
This is good news, assuming DOJ has actual evidence and it's not just performative retribution. -
Whaaaat? Never heard that before. Very disappointing if true; I love her and her music. She's like the female equivalent of Lemmy Kilmister; the living, breathing embodiment of rock and roll. Her balls are 10x the size of most dudes.

Trump is making another name change to a body of water

Frankly, very little sounds better than Mission of Burma. -
Should be worth more than that unless it's beat to hell. Hondas are generally great cars.

'Defund the police' mecca of Minneapolis overrun with violence, ‘failed leadership'
Fnord replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
I was vacationing in beautiful Austin, TX last week with a group of close buddies and punched out of normal life while away from work, wife, and kids. It was glorious eating my weight in BBQ and Cajun food and drinking my weight in Lone Stars, which I normally wouldn't touch but when in Rome... I live near the Twin Cities and visit often. I spend very little time in downtown Mpls unless attending a show or game. Over the last 30 years, nearly 10 of which were spent living in Mpls, I've only ever feared for my safety a couple of times, and never downtown. The TC are generally very safe in my experience. This sounds like more alarmism from people that are scared and intimidated by cities in general or have an axe to grind, like the useless twat that posted it. You can cherry pick stories like this from any major city. -
This whole transgender thing needs to stop in this country.

Jesus. Good for you and the missus. How someone could abandon their kid for any reason astonishes me. And no doubt most of them consider themselves "christian." Garbage people. -
Just came across this: A Jeff Bezos backed EV pickup with limited range, 2 seats, no radio, no frills, but a bed big enough to haul a sheets of plywood or drywall: Would you buy one?

Republicans introduce amendment so trump can get third term

You've perhaps never been so wrong. -
I'm not sure how you go through life this way. I listen to music every day, sometimes for several hours. I'd probably rather go blind than deaf just because of music.
-
How can you even narrow it down to 5? Favorites from today, or all time? I get tired of music pretty quickly. I've listened to Pearl Jam's Ten more times straight through than any other album, but will probably never seek out a song from that record again, it was sooo overplayed. So I'll list the historic favorites, even if I don't listen to them much or at all anymore: Back In Black The Wall Live After Death, but you could insert any Maiden album before 1990 in this spot Strong Reaction Everything Is Wrong Honorable mentions: Operation Mindcrime, Over The James, Punk In Drublic

So fitting.

Whatever it is you said I'm sure it's not worth reading; fuk off.

I was wondering about this and offroad utility. Would be a great recreational vehicle if it was capable enough.

Liberals - I missed the meeting, what are we whining about today?

Admit it- you attended in disguise. -
Stefanski is a helluva coach. I don't blame J-ville for moving up to grab Hunter, but the haul Cleveland got was great. I think they'll be a potential playoff team next year.

I don't think there's AC, or cruise control. I'm digging this thing and how customizable it is. Thinking it would be a great commuter vehicle. I do wonder how long it would last, though. I usually buy a vehicle and keep it for at least ten years. I'm allergic to car payments.

Trump admin will seize wages, pensions, tax refunds to repay student loans: 'Debt cannot be wiped away'
Fnord replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
My wife and I participated in this to pay off her student loans. That's how we ended up in BF NorCal. What you don't mention is that you have to be employed by an appropriate organization, in my wife's case a nonprofit clinic. The organizations are vetted and approved by the federal government after an application process by the nonprofit. The system is designed to get practitioners out to areas that suffer from a shortage of them and in return your loans are forgiven. In our case, it was mostly awesome. We got to live in a beautiful area, made good money (well she did anyway), had loans repaid, and even had housing furnished, though it was considered taxable income. It set us up well for the future and allowed us to save enough to move back to the motherland and make a large down payment on our first home. Our mortgage is laughably small for the house we live in. The downside is that your average MD or PhD has less than zero desire to go work in remote areas with populations that are... not the creme de la creme. Prisons, reservations, and extremely rural locales almost exclusively. Many of the qualifying employers don't pay very well. She was also locked into a multi-year contract with the government that would not void even if her employer laid her off, which happened in Flagstaff, AZ prior to moving to CA. Then things went to hell with leadership at the clinic we worked at, and we were sweating the last year+ of the contract while the alcoholic executive director tried to bang every woman in sight and threatened to fire everyone that took issue with his behavior. tl;dr It's a swell program with very significant drawbacks that make it undesirable for most. -

There is a loophole. Notice the make out session is with someone of the same declared gender. So if a woman says she's a man, you can make out with her errr, him. Them? I'm still confused about this shlt. You need to show up early, though. People pair off pretty quickly, and a few of these degenerates have taken to dosing the white wine with MDMA, so the juices get flowing fast. Good luck and hope to see you at the next gathering err... meeting err... drug infused sex party masquerading as a political affair! -
US fertility rate hovers near record low as Trump administration pushes for a baby boom
Fnord replied to kilroy69's topic in The Geek Club
This might be the only way to increase fertility rates, combined with solving the housing shortage. In a nutshell, it's too damn expensive to have kids when you're young enough to have them. Also:
