If you've ever posted anything interesting, thoughtful, or insightful, I haven't seen it. You've heard from those that I disagree with saying I'm not so bad. That's because they didn’t decide to be jerkoffs to me from the jump, and I can overlook disagreements about politics to appreciate what others offer. You make some good points that I won't dispute. Tim is a prolific poster that pisses people off for plenty of reasons, some of which you nicely outline. But many of the character flaws you rightly attribute to Tim can also be claimed of the vast majority of posters here, you and I included. Those that make it their personal mission to piss all over Tim's every post most certainly included. The way he continuously gets hammered for personal stuff he has shared on another board that get thrown in his face daily is bush league. For the most part, he does not respond in kind. That shows at least a shred of character that most of those harassing him do not possess, IMO. There are posters here I like and respect that display integrity and character, like you and @supermike80, that also don't care for Tim. You do you. I'm not here to defend him. I just find many of his detractors to be far worse than he is.

Something I deal with a lot IRL is lack of labor. This is a widespread problem across most, if not all industries. We can't hire enough people to work the factory jobs that are still in the U.S. Where is the labor coming from (especially skilled labor, which is even tougher to find) as we ramp up these beautiful new manufacturing facilities?

IIRC (big if) Trump's military advisors said something to the effect of "we don't do that here" and it never occurred. Those advisors are currently being hunted by the FBI for telling Trump "no" so I expect we will see a big, beautiful parade! The protests will be epic. Maybe we should do a giant geek meet? Instead of rioting we can play some cornhole, maybe do some keg stands?

Lots of dudes here talkin about having receipts, but I have yet to see one. Here's what I saw as someone that frequented it often but did not post all that much: @thegeneral is right on. People were asses to each other, Joe didn't like it and told everyone to cool off. We didn't. Many suspensions over many months occurred and other than driving a bunch of people away from their forums, there was little difference. He finally shut it down because it was a resource drain and he didn't want the vitriol to be part of his brand. I don't have any receipts, but I read the content. Generally speaking, the MAGA folk were nastier and got more personal (shocking, I know!) and were suspended more often initially. Then the backlash came and Joe and the mods didn't want to seem as though anyone was being targeted, so the suspensions increased and even more people got pissed. Joe pulled the plug after several years of ignored pleas to be better. If dickwads like TonyDead and John Blutarsky wanna blame Tim and Squis for it getting shut down, they're just trying to make themselves feel better about being dickwads. Regrettably they will never be anything but giant dickwads.

And how did this MAGA cabal come by their top secret information? Who were the "powers that be?" I'll take a PM. I got pinched a few times over there and didn't complain, though one of them was pretty nitpicky. The final straw was 8 months for something pretty tame (wish I could remember what I said but I can't). On the same page as my post, jonmx was full-on jonmx-ing, ranting and being an ass; you know the schtick. He didn't get booted, I did. The moderation was never as one-sided as the conservatives made it out to be. When my suspension ended, I asked Joe about it in a thread where he was talking to posters about their suspensions and actually disclosing some of the behind-the-scenes decision making. He never answered. I'm done with that place.
