Trump and Russia- the optimism is fading

From our resident Russian bot? Couldn't be... -
I have been feeling salty and fried lately.

Pam Bondi says Epstein files to be released today with flight logs and names
Fnord replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
That's not it at all. The names in the binders were already public knowledge. We knew Bruce and Leo had been there, as well as Trump and Prince Andrew and the Clintons. So far, it's less impressive than the Trump "tax return" that Maddow got hold of a few years ago. She only hyped that for a few hours before air and it turned out to be basically nothing. This has been hyped for months or years even; turns out to be rehashed info already released. I eagerly await further news. I want to know. But I'm sure not holding my breath. -
If you searched it while in another country, it would be called Gulf of Mexico, though.

Only in court under oath. No other news outlets have been rung up for 3/4 of a billion for lying.

Sandler deserves throat punches for MOST of the movies he's made.

Just catching up on this... So they released a bunch of pablum nobody cares about exclusively to right wing "influencers?" What's worse, a clownshow or a shitshow? This is both. -
The DEI Cal Fire captain found stabbed to death inside of her San Diego County home
Fnord replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
That simply is not true. -
French Connection is such a great flick. Hoosiers and the Conversation as well. The Birdcage was funny as hell but hasn't aged very well.

JFC. He limited access to the most powerful office in the world to the largest news gathering org in the world. If a dem president had done this you'd want blood, rightfully. Now you're picking nits with my wording while bltching about Democrats engaging in censorship and praising this admin for transparency. You're off the reservation man. Wake up.

We are going to see this much more, I would think. Gov't workers worried about their jobs, morale tanking, being asked to accomplish tasks they are not capable of because their colleagues were already fired without an opportunity to train replacements. Institutional knowledge is being removed completely from the institutions. What was already inefficient now becomes near useless. The seeming lack of thought given to eventual outcomes of firing thousands of unelected bureaucrats is startling. Eventually, something bad will occur that could have been prevented or mitigated by some of the individuals and agencies being axed. Then all hell will break loose. The FAA is a perfect example of a vital agency already running short staffed with low morale. I won't pin the recent rash of plane crashes on Trump, but what we see today may only be a small indicator of what is to come.

🇺🇸Father Trump Talk-🚨The Official Thread of the Week Magaverse🚨Lady Squissy 🚨Trump wins again 👍
Fnord replied to HellToupee's topic in The Geek Club
As they should, strategically speaking. From a purely partisan political standpoint, the party is in terrible shape. They lack vision, leadership, common sense, policy wins, communication, I could go on. Their best bet is to do absolutely nothing for the next 2 years at least and let Trump and MAGA undo themselves with stupidity, chaos, and weak leadership. This is not what's best for the country, of course, but since when did either party GAF about that? -
In this instance everyone realizes that the lower court fuct up bigly, even the lawyers in the case. This will be a unanimous decision in favor of the white woman, as it should be based on what I read about the case. ETA: Even the Biden admin filed a brief supporting the plaintiff.

Here we go! FBI launching an investigation into James Comey
Fnord replied to Patented Phil's topic in The Geek Club
My first thought as well. But, whatever. There has been enough identified misbehavior within the FBI that this wouldn't be particularly surprising. If the whistleblower seems legit, it's worth investigating. -
Hardworking Americans speaking out against Republicans
Fnord replied to TrailGuy's topic in The Geek Club
If this was Biden licking Pelosi's toes LC/MO would have 15 active threads about it on the first page. -
Death pool update (big points): Michelle Trachtenberg
Fnord replied to Vikings4ever's topic in The Geek Club
Well that shouldn't be a problem now. -
Interesting. I went back to search again and came up with the third different answer numerically, but it was still Mexico.

My sippy cup? Probably about 6 oz. -
I can't read that unless I register with Fox News. I'd rather not do that. My understanding is that Obama "worked around" some Fox journalists, didn't call on them, gave them less "exclusive" access, etc. I will not defend those actions. But he did not revoke any access to Fox that other news outlets traditionally enjoyed. Trump has.

Actually, Mexico has more shoreline by nearly 400 miles.

The AP is an international news org, not an American one. They are not beholden to this standard. Either way, I don't care about the reasoning. That a POTUS unilaterally sidelined the largest news organization in the world should give people pause. No other president has ever done this. I do not believe for a moment that if Obama or Biden did it to Fox news that you or anyone else here would have supported it, regardless of rationale. I wouldn't have.
