The article also mentions someone using a tomahawk, as well as police riot shields. Which we all saw on video. Keeping in mind this only counts those that were indicted. I'm sure there were dozens or even hundreds of guns in the crowd, thankfully those carrying them did so responsibly.

I read the article. I do not believe that Elon is a nazi. I do believe that he is an enemy of democracy though, and there is a possibility that he did the salute on purpose to piss people off (or maybe his Asperger's prevented him from understanding the implications of doing it), like @thegeneral claims.
