Move to smokeless nicotine vapes, gum, or pouches. I have relapsed hard in my nicotine usage, but using these products does not leave me feeling like I do after smoking cigars/cigarettes. Draft weekend was always especially egregious, where I would go weeks or months without tobacco but then chain smoked for 48 hours. I switched to vapes and I no longer get the headaches or vicious cough I had with smoked tobacco. I will not claim they are safer, simply that they do not have the same deleterious short term effects.

Boycott Allstate because they are a horrible insurance company that absolutely hates to pay out claims and will fock over their policy holders (and vendors) at every opportunity. Boycotting them for the above is dumb.

Agreed, though I think there may be some misinterpretation as to calls to violence in Islamic faith. I have heard it told both ways. I think Hindu also features non-violent dogma. I have little doubt you are more educated on religion than I, and I know your are a Christian. I rail on religion at times, but normally only in reference to horrible acts like this. I would never want to deny someone their religious beliefs, or paint with broad brush strokes when discussing radical zealots' relationship with non-radical adherents. Islam sure seems like the "worst" religion, but I'm not going to blame them all for the acts of the radicalized few. Just like I won't chastise your average Catholic/Protestant for the behavior of some freaky Branch Davidians trying to bomb abortion clinics. Same concept as being critical of Zionism politically while not being an antisemite. Religion is not one-size-fits-all. It's not for me, it is for you. Freedom is a wonderful thing.

Truth. The issue with the trades is typically the wear and tear it puts on your body. From my experience, if you're not interested in management, the trades are not a great long term career choice, though they are a great way to make decent money pretty quickly out of HS. I work for a prestigious healthcare company that has always highly valued degrees. The last few years they have started backing off of the degree requirements, replacing them with experience. I.E., a position that used to require a Master's is now Master's degree preferred but can be obtained with a HS education and 10 years of relevant experience.

Good post. I'm a liberal, and I'm not a big defender of ANY religion. Religion itself is not inherently dangerous. It gives comfort and peace and teaches many about morality.
