What ARE they saying about police? That they have a higher than normal rate of: Psychological health problems, suicide, divorce, alcoholism, domestic violence, use of force, job loss, depression, PTSD, aggression, distrust, cynicism, alienation, secretiveness, and, of course, authoritarianism. Law enforcement is tough work, and we should all be proud of the sacrifices those who serve endure, as well as the significant toll it takes on them mentally, physically, and emotionally. Most departments offer various means of psychological support to their forces, which is definitely a good thing. Thanks for calling attention to the plight of our men and women in blue.

The fires that are still smoldering with the corpses of the cops they burned to death? You basically turn into the Toxic Avenger if you dare to venture north of lake Nokomis. Once you arrive within 2 miles of Cedar/Riverside the flesh begins to melt off of your body and your hair becomes blue. I'm just trying to help your boys, HT. MAGA ain't cut out for the post-apocalyptic realities on the ground in MPLS.

You can blame yourselves for this one. Why would an aspiring young conservative ever want to enter a field that they have been told since birth is a snake pit of deceit and propaganda?

Corporate HQ? No way the true red zealots would venture into the burned out, dystopic husk of downtown Minneapolis and risk exposure to all the bad hombres just to fight a couple security guards. I can't believe the Twins and Wolves still play down there. Owners are too cheap to move them to somewhere safe like Edina or Apple Valley.

Good point. How is it you know more about my mom's medical issues than I do? Are you tracking her now? She's certainly not a teenager anymore and I know that's your preferred victim demographic (other than wives of other posters). You and her would be an interesting couple as you're both insufferable and can't back up your opinions on anything!

Just like the GOP, Alex Jones was ruined by hopping on the Trump train.

It was okay. My biggest complaint about Maher is how hard he goes after religious people. I agree with his opinions in many cases, but he takes it too far IMO. I could see this movie being good, as the fringe left is every bit as gonzo crazy as the fringe right, and deserve to be mocked.

You still believe he won the last election and you think someone is going to be dumb enough to bet with you? Zero, absolute zero chance you will ever accept Trump losing in November. -
I don't think a repeat of 1/6 is really even possible at this point. Unfortunately, it might be worse, just not centered at the Capitol. We already know that MAGA will not accept a defeat. If Harris wins, I would expect the violence to be less concentrated but more widespread.

This is an excellent example of why I avoid social media. Bunch off a-holes being awful to each other in the hopes of going viral. So stupid.

Trump’s association with Laura Loomer should be disqualifying in itself

This is how it is supposed to work. News org screws up, issues retraction. It took Fox News losing $3/4 billion settlement before they retracted the BS voting machine claims. And many still believe the lies. Like you. Now you use this as an example of news gathering bias when it's really the opposite. Don't you ever get tired of being a hapless dupe? -

Since Don isn't the president, I wonder how USSC will declare him immune from prosecution? -
If you're dumb enough to think Kamala Harris has an IQ of 78... I'll just leave that here. Lots of places you can go from that setup. I don't want to debase myself with the obvious like some of the tards around here already have.

This thread. I mean, really. I just can't. Defending the "climate change is a hoax" movement with THIS article, which very clearly states the opposite. I get where the deniers are coming from and even agree with some of the rationale, but you all are NOT helping yourselves here. -

It's not just the last four years, sorry if it seemed as though that was the point I was trying to make. It's been a long, slow downward slide and the current trajectory is unsustainable. This link goes over some of it, and here was a quote that I noticed right away: From 1960 through 2013, health spending rose from $147 per person to $9,255 per person, an average annual increase of 8.1 percent. In comparison, per capita adjusted personal income was $2,267 in 1960, and in 2013 it reached $42,266, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 5.7 percent. As overall health spending increased at a faster rate than personal income, household expenditures on health as a share of adjusted personal income grew from 4 percent in 1960 to 6 percent in 2013. Like all industries, healthcare is experiencing labor shortages. Between that and regulatory agencies creating and enforcing care standards, insurance companies refusing to pay for covered services and/or requiring approval for necessary procedures, for-profit medical centers basing care on margin vs. need, and medical supply companies engaging in profiteering (IMO), the whole sector is sitting on an eroding foundation. Covid was the cherry on top, wherein all of these concerns also then became political and combative (imagine being a nurse working a double because your replacement called in sick, doing your best to care for multiple ventilated patients while one or more of those patient's relatives is telling you you're a POS because Covid is "made up" -- and yes, that absolutely happened everywhere) and burnout rates skyrocketed. On a ROI basis, becoming a doctor is not a golden ticket to financial stability that it has long been considered due to exorbitant educational costs and a hyper competitive culture both in grad school and the marketplace. Services, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and construction cost more, insurance companies pay less, regulations become more difficult to implement and adhere to, illnesses and afflictions become more complicated, and "the best" people are not going into medicine at the rate they used to. Meanwhile, Americans poison themselves with crappy food and want a pill to take care of the ailments caused by decades of neglect or misuse of their own bodies because changing their habits is too much work. -

They lost so much money while he was president that she now has to pick up odd jobs to make ends meet. They're relatable!

If you looked at ALL THE INFORMATION you'd know what that was referring to. Caught in a lie again. -

I believe you, but again, I think you're placing too much blame on immigration issues and nowhere near enough on the healthcare boondoggle in this country. -

I live in a city about 2% the population of the Valley. Roughly 11% of them are foreign-born (we're quite white here). You'd consider yourself DAMN lucky to be seen within 3 hours at the ER. This is a problem everywhere and it speaks much more to America's approach to Healthcare than it does our immigration policies.
