  1. I'd say: 7th Iron Maiden Piece Beast Powerslave Live After Death Time Killers 2-5 are basically interchangeable in the rankings depending on mood.
  2. @nobody last 2 posts are spectacular! These are things I want to hear. Great info on the modeling which I had not heard or considered, and observations about experts being just as dumb as the rest of us are right on the money. I would not extend that to the point where I'm willing to ignore experts like many seem to be inclined toward, but YMMV. Thanks for sharing.

    Gerrymandering

The people you're voting for are carving up the government and constitution in fealty to a con man whose only goal is to further enrich himself while acting like a comic book villain. Sorry, but in my world a few idiots making outlandish, easily refuted claims about biology is pretty innocuous compared to the demise of our nation. You disagree, I don't care. Go ahead and make your next non-sequitur post about me smoking pot. Everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting for it. It's the best you got.

I know. That's why I play for them. Since my side is America, we should be on the same team. Why aren't we?

Did you not notice that CA is graded F for competitiveness? It simply is noting that the lines in CA are not drawn in a hyper-partisan way. Obviously CA has more liberals than conservatives.
  6. In the Democrat's perfect world, absolutely! Obviously that's not the reality. This is what the Republicans are claiming, with some validity. I think the crux is that it's obvious the insider trading laws are being completely ignored and most of those ignoring them are doing it brazenly, knowing there will be no consequences. If I would have been part of the process, I would have suggested that all assets like that go into a blind trust, which is also already the law, but you-know-who has been in complete violation of that since day 1 of his first term.

    Gerrymandering

Sure, but that's the truth. TX IS doing it, CA WOULD BE if Newsom could skirt those pesky laws. His immediate follow up was to say "It's all so corrupt. Drain the swamp." Whatever, I'm not here to defend Gutter and have already participated in too many semantic arguments today. I'll just close with saying gerrymandering is corrupt bullshit no matter who does it, and Dems countering what's going on in TX with their own corruption doesn't help.
  8. Nope. How did I get caught switching? I just reposted our first exchange, where I specifically said to put aside climate change. I'd post the whole thing but nobody wants to see another 20 posts of us slap-fighting. Your are not seemingly capable of good faith discussions anymore. It's unfortunate, as I used to have you in high regard, but just another byproduct of our toxic political environment, I guess. Enjoy your continued attempts to gaslight, obfuscate, and argue fallacies with those that take your words at face value. You cannot be trusted anymore.

The new TX boundaries are literally counting on their new Latino friends to carry the GOP to wins in those districts. Two way street. Thinking that you're "beating Democrats at their own game" does not hold up to scrutiny. States severely gerrymandered to favor Democrats: Illinois, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico States severely gerrymandered to favor Republicans: Utah, Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, both Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin Linky
  10. This was our first exchange. Note I say PUT ASIDE climate change to talk about pollution. You stated it only after several ridiculous exchanges, and then pretended you admitted it right away. Everything else was made up from whole cloth by you based on your own biases, not what I posted. HTH.

    Gerrymandering

I don't think you're correct here. CA, by law, has an independent commission draw up its congressional boundaries. Newsom wants to do away with that so he can gerrymander away. TX is different. The state legislature there draws its own map, so what they're doing would be in violation of the Voting Rights Act, but not TX state law.
  12. YOU can assume that, but it doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. It's been discovered already. I couldn't find the article I read recently about this, but the link below outlines it nicely despite being several years old. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/05/14/congress-stock-trading-conflict-of-interest-rules-238033
  13. My mother is a musician who listens to classical music all day, and most of her friends are similar. When I was ~14, I was in a car with her and one of her (younger) friends and I made her stop at the local record shop so I could pick up Maiden's new album No Prayer for the Dying. Her friend blew me away by suggesting we listen to it in the car. She said she and many classical types loved Maiden exactly because of how symphonic their sound could be and how varied their song structures were. My mom vetoed the proposal, but I fell in love with Shannon a little bit that day (Shannon was probably about 25, slender (32B?), raven hair, piercing eyes and a great smile. Yum.) Long story short, everyone should love Maiden and/or a woman like Shannon.
  14. Everyone that voted against it is GOP. Only GOPer that supported was Hawley.

    Gerrymandering

You DON'T think it's corrupt? You live in Cali, right? You're cool with the Dems there gerrymandering Republican votes out of existence, like the GOP is doing in TX? We all think of these two states as bastions of red or blue, but believe it or not there are a lot of Republicans in CA, as well as libs in TX. Those votes are actively being silenced in TX, and Newsom is ready to do the same.

    Gerrymandering

Agreed. Very clear. Seems to me as though some of the Trumplicans here are just piling on Gutter to avoid saying something negative about dear leader.
  17. I love how the entirety of the GOP is so open in supporting Don's unending grift. Our beloved POTUS sets up a bunch of crypto ventures where he can quickly and easily receive hundreds of millions in bribes, but he and his family are carved out of this legislation. Current GOP are the biggest bunch of cucks ever.

Underrated AC/DC song Bon Scott era ?

Agree about Blow Up Your Video, easily their most underrated album. Love it. I am going to disagree with extreme prejudice with your assessment of Fly on the Wall. Not a great album, but contained a few hidden gems like the title track, Shake Your Foundations, and Sink the Pink. Flick of the Switch is their worst and it's not close. I still hear Whole Lotta Rosie on the radio occasionally, usually when the local classic rock station does their 2 for Tuesday bit where they'll play a big hit along with a deeper cut from the same artists. Also, Rosie was real.

Not only did the TX republicans have this thing ready to go, they made it a priority over aid for the flood victims in hill country, whom they have yet to lift a finger for legislatively. The Dems saying they're going to do it in retaliation can fock right off too. CA, MA, NY talking about it. IL is too, but they're already so gerrymandered for Dems they aren't sure if they can stretch it any further. Just another example of the Republicans going off the rails completely while the Dems navel gaze and fret and remind us how ineffectual and stunted they are. There should be independent, non-partisan commissions federally mandated to draw districts that make geographic sense in every state.
  20. I stand on the hill that they ran to, flanked by troopers, where I will die with my boots on standing arm-in-arm with my blood brothers. There are not enough superlatives. Their first 7 albums (8 if you count Live After Death, which @Maximum Overkill is correct about) are the best 7 (8)-album run in metal (if not rock) history. I've only seen them twice, both relatively recently. @MikeMatt, you focked up bad by stopping before 7th Son of a 7th Son came out. That might be their best. Their output since Bruce came back has been really impressive.

Underrated AC/DC song Bon Scott era ?

Probly my 2nd or 3rd favorite of theirs. And I prefer Brian Johnson to Bon.

    Israel Gaza thread

How awesome would it be if we could assign how our tax dollars were spent? I think a few things would change...
  23. How fockin hard was that?!? Maybe you could've started off this whole sequence with that response and avoided this entire stupid exchange. And yes, I acknowledge my part in said stupidity. I admit when I'm shown to be wrong. I've changed my perspective on plenty of issues over the years. Your obtuse surmising is YOUR deflection tactic when you can't defend your own position. And you do it a LOT. All after coaching me on not being too trusting, and accusing ME of lacking self awareness. Irony rules.
  24. LOL. All this because you refuse to admit that pollution is bad. Of all the nasty traits exemplified by their dear leader, MAGA's inability to admit to even the possibility of being wrong might be the most insidious. Hell, they can't even handle being a little scrutinized. But you will keep "questioning credentials" while insisting that your own cannot, while happily denying your own complicity.
  25. I'm beginning to wonder if you know what the term strawman means. Don't lecture me about trust when you're still convinced Biden is a giant crook but Trump is on the level. That makes me question if you also struggle with the term 'evidence.'
