Serious physical harm is justification. Is a scalding serious physical harm? It is on the cusp, I suppose. Given, however the reasonable and readily available alternative of temporty retreat to safety I believe this officer is going to get convicted.

Presuming she could have flung the boiling water at the cops, a suspect presumption given her size and the distance, the worst the cops would have suffered is some scalding burns. They were not in danger of losing their lives. That makes the use of deadly force more than suspect, expecially since they had an unobstructed line of retreat and there were no individuals in immediate danger requiring their continued presence.

The Democratic party had an historical opportunity here and they gave us Kamala Harris.

I was told in another thread, since removed, that among her qualifications is she was a member of a legendary sorority. Apparently it was legendary not for acting as a spy ring against the nazis or for curing space cancer or for saving the extinct superwhales, but for having a few famous alums. That, to me, does not seem like a qualification for the Presidency, but it was put forth as one of her qualifications. Frankly I think her primary quailification is she will, apparently, be the standard bearer for the not Trump vote. Frankly that is a failry large constituency right there. It may even be enough, with nothing else, to get her to the White House. My how we have shrunk as a nation. No matter who wins we lose.
