  1. Because he's his son, dammit! Oh wait, you meant Trump.
  2. An interesting expression or concept in this day and age where we nearly all are capable of disputing nearly everything, no matter how apparent. Also, I think your double negative has the sentence saying something other than what was intended, but perhaps I have unraveled it wrong.
  3. Is Brian Doyle Murray still alive to umpire the match? Can we get Bill Murray on the broadcast team? Can we mandate that each golfer has to use an exact replica of the Billy Baroo during ther match?

We Need Moar Common Sense Gun Laws!@#!

We are all subject to questioning by the police at any time. No cause or rerasonable articulable suspicion is required. they can jusdt walk up to you, say "how's it going?" and that is perfectly legal. Also avoiding police contacts, running from them, is not illegal, generally. Fleeing from them AFTER being told you are detained or arrested is.
  5. Some have argued the partisan politics of this matter which are quite transparent indeed. In spite of the partisan politics of this I want my Supreme Court Justices to be above reproach ethically, intellectually, and politically (if and to the extent that is different than ethically). I know this is a fool's hope, but there it is.

This would be bigger than Judge Smails vs. Al Czervik.
  9. I want the Supremes to be above even the appearance of impropriety and or bias. I find Justice Thomas' actions, if true, inappropirate. Every state has judicial ethics codes. there is a federal code on judicial ethics. I do not think the Supremes should be exempt from such codes. I think they ought to be an example of the epitomy of judicial ethics and temperance. They ought to instill confidence in their rulings, not allow them to be questioned on bias or self interest.

It was not. It was from the heart.

Sotomayors body guard shoots man while guarding her home

? Why "greasy"? Seems an unusual modifer in this instance. Usually you see "wet" or "sticky".

Some of you all may be too young to remember, but Nixon, too, had a secret plan.

    Pha que.
  14. Not the Yankees, the Dodgers, the Astros? Well, no matter, you have the inherent right of any fan, to hate what you hate.

    This economy is so bad

I was merely noting the facts of the matter. Noting that things in the markets were not dire. Also, if it had already achieved the current level it would not be an all time high, that would be a return to its record high.
  16. Baseball lost me years ago axfter yet another strike. I suppose if my childhood team, the brewers, were to ever make another World Series I would tune in but I bsasically lost interest.

    This economy is so bad

I understand the Nasdaq and S&P 500 are at all time highs. I am doing alright in the markets. Nothing to write home about, but alright and alright is good enough. I do worry some about inflation. If it can stay below 3% as an average I will be satisfied. At rates above that, particularly when it goes above 5% I become concerned.

    This economy is so bad

I went to see Dead and Company on its opening night at the Sphere. The next morning the Dow Jones hit 40,000. The Dow retreated for a bit but is back above 39,000. Gasoline has not risen in my arer this summer, hovering around $3.29 a gallon. It did not even rise over the 4th of July weekend which is rare. Those things are pretty good. On the other hand insurance rates are kiling me. Food prices are ridiculous, especially for beef and eggs, and locally (has nothing to do with this Administration) they are raising property taxes exhorbitantly. As long as the markets hold I am doing fine and would have no difficulty with four more years like the last four.

My post was in jest. You seem unwilling to ever consider that as you like to come crashing in with your tired boyo shtick.

    I'm Pretty Much Done Drinking...

I drifted away from drinking gradually over the years as well.
  21. Thinking about the thread title. Is it redundant? Can you hate jews without being antisemitic? I suppose maybe it is possible as the group "Semites" is not coextensive with "jews".

As for the hotels and airports I hear they are packed with illegals. The bars and restaurants i don't hear about. I don't get out to them much but when i do i don't notice unusual crowds or wait times but I don't live in a thriving metropolitan area so that may be it.
  23. It is about that time of year for me when I will tune into NFL radio, occassionally.

    Ukraine - Doomsday

I remember a time when the left would rail against the proliferation and profiteering of the Military Industrial complex. Now it is good in the eyes of the left as it supplies jobs to Americans but more importantly it is a justification of a left position. Me, I support Ukraine. I do not believe in appeasement. I think Russia's and Putins dreams of empire are dangerous and need to be held in check, but I do find it intrerersting that yet again the parties have swapped supposedly dearly held principles. That happens often if you live long enough to see it.
