Were I to have opposed it, which I did not, I would have been in opposition to another federal and state holiday were government services and schools close with government workers being paid. I would have worried about a proliferation of such holidays for each race, ethnicity, and cultural icon. Instead I would have proposed renaming Presidents day to Founders and Iconic Contributors to the Republic Day (Rolls off the tongue doesn't it?) and would have honored he and others on that day. You like Jefferson, great, add him to that day. Andrew Jackson fan, terrific, you celebrate him on that day. A Clinton or Obama fan, no reason to not add them. Spend the day contemplating your personal heros while I spend the day fighting traffic to the slopes.

The boy Scouts and the VFW use to retire old flags for you on Memorial Day. The proper way to do so is to burn them, or so I understand.

My flag will not make its next appearance until the 4th of July. Its last appearance was Memorial Day weekend. When it is flown it will be right side up. As for my neighborhood I have seen no upside down flags signalling distress. We do have a guy two blocks away that has four Trump flags on his pickup. I wonder if that invites vandalism from folks on the other end of the political spectrum from him.

Sounds like he wanted the Tony Stark Air Travel experience from Ironman 1. Tough to get that on a commercial charter with tight aisles and only a handful of $100's. I think you need a private jet and an unlimited bank account. Context does not automatically = consent, but it goes a long way towards doing so.

Jail is a dangerous place. The problems with having an ex-President three would be profound. Home confinement in a ritzy set of appartments would be inconvenient for him, but not punitive nor rehabilitative. Confinement to his worst out of code building in the smallest living unit might be interesting and instructive. Don't allow him any improvements to his unit until the enitre building is brought up to code. Allow that early release would be considered upon the buiulding being brought up to code. Oh, and food delivery could only be from Vegan health food restaurants.
