“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

Lots of fatherless kids this morning. I presume the Tunnels to Towers foundation will be getting involved.

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

I have found in life that those things which are statistically unlike to happen which are good do not happen, but those things which are statistically unlikely to happen which are bad happen all the time. Why is that?

At gun point? Seems unlikely, but O.K. Care to share the specifics?

Are these people on left or right?

Bring in cops and national guard. Surround the occupied building so none may leave. (Nows youse can't leave) Clear the protesters from the occupied outdoor spaces first. Arrest, identify, expel, and prosecute them for any crimes they have committed. Then force entry to the occupied buiding being sure to keep it surrounded so the rats cannot flee the sinking ship. Arrest, expel, and prosecute them fully. Revoke any student visas. Immunity? In a pig's ear.

Are these people on left or right?

Apprehended, sure. Charged with every crime they committed and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, sure. Mowed down, implying killed or physically maimed and disabled, no, though treated bruskly, fine.

Do you still support pinching 10 year old girls nipples?

I only support nipple pinching from one's peers, which I will define as no more than 18% older or younger

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police

Its been 32 years now since Daryl Gates was Chief in L.A. Time to put away the narrative from 3 decades ago. If matters are as Tim alleges they are the LAPD would be under several federal consent degrees right now. To my memory it has been around 15 years since they last were under a consent decree, one which lasted a dozen years.

Sounds like there is lucrative practice to be had in Los Angeles suing LAPD.

Hunter Biden to Sue Fox News

Should be interesting. Justice Brennan wrote a good, even great opinion in N.Y.Times v. Sullivan. His opinion protected free speech, even wrong and stupid speech against public officials to the maximum. They had to prove actaul malice. The opinion also laid the ground for defanmation suits by those who, while not elected officials, have thrust themselves into the public arena, into the lime light. They can sue but in some ways they are public figures and subject to greater scrutiny in defamation cases. As I recall Curtis (sp?) Publishing v. Butts expanded on that. Most of the litigation in this area has actually been not elected offiicals but public figures, stars, often stars who became tabloid fodder. Interesting whether hunter is a star, a public figure (I think so) and whether Fox is a tabloid (???)(Muckrackers have been given protection by the courts. Throwing muck on public figures may be the official American pastime, more so than overeating and watching sports)

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is going to run as independent.

Biden does the walk, but whenever Trump is filmed from behind he looks like he is carrying around a load back there. I think on this metric there is little to separate the two.

Sure he may occassionally have a loss of sphincter discipline, but who would'nt with his Big Mac diet plan for breakfast, second breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and lights out meal.

"Filmmaker" who filmed Ashli Babbitt's murder gets 6 years

Biden could have named that tune in one not, "Don"t!"
  13. I imagine a google search would have to be quite specific what with all his cases across so many jurisdictions. I know he made such a motion in the documents case and in the Georgia case.
  14. And though I have not followed the matter closely i believe they dfid and the judge denied it. I thought Trumps lawyers sought an interlocotory appela on that issue and were denied, not on the substance, but denied being able to present it. That said I have not folowed the matter closely and certainly could be wrong as to the motions Trump's team has filed.

Do you still support puppy murderers?

I was served dog in the Phillipines. That was prior to the 1982 legislation, though i believe my wife's family did not give a good god dam about that ordinance or subsequent legislation.
  16. No, i am saying that summary judgment is not the proper motion. They can make motions to dismmiss, they can make motions for directed verdicts at the appropriate time, but summary judgment assumes the facts in a civil case are not in dispute adn it is a request for the Court to apply the law to those undisputed facts.
  17. I think he admitted to believing that star status is consent. That would not be my understanding of the law. Where is that interview from? Oh, i see, MSNBC braodcasting a depo from the E. Jean Carroll matter. Too bad for Trump he is incapable of admitting when he is bragging or using hyperbole. Had he simply said he was being a big man for the interview and he neverf actaully treated women with such disrespect it would ahve gone a long way. Sadly, his ego gets him into trouble and prevents him from getting out. He is an insecure man under all the narcissim.
  18. One of those criminal case summary judgments. Tnbose are so rare as to be nonexistant. Or perhaps the are rare becasue the motion is only a civil action motion.
  19. No, according to me context matters and people need to be accountable for their own behavior. According to you a person's color defines the interaction.

As for Kristi Noem, her inability to have foreseen the outrage, manufactured or not, calls into serious question her instincts as a politician. Any farm or ranch raised kid understands fairly early that city folks do not understand our relationship with animals, or even their own since they are removed from their food production. She was stupid to believe this was a relatable story, just foolish.

Well I would not agree it takes until 14 months or more to adequately train a dog. In my experience basic commands ought to be mastered by 12 to 14 weeks. More complex behaviors and reactions such as proper hunting techniques or assistance dog training can take up to a year and in some highly specialized working dogs for detection or tracking and recovery a bit more, but basic behavior commands, come, sit, stay, heal, those should be solid at 12 to 14 weeks.

In my experience ill behaved dogs are dogs which have not been sufficiently and consistently trained by their owners. There may be some dogs who are simply beyond training, which are just addled from birth, but I have not encountered them.
  24. The protesters have, as one of their goals, to get arrested. It is all part of the concept of civil disobedience. Given that is their goal, and given that the police response is more or less a known, when the protesters get arrested or cleared from an area it is not accurate to say the police instigated the force or violence. The protesters knowingly set a chain of events into action. They are the instigators. They got what they desired,

To the best of my recollection of the facts of the case I would agree with that characterization of Mr. Jean, yes.
