  1. So we see it differently. That's all right by me.
  2. That plucky band of colorfully dressed but woefully underequiped renegades never stood a chnce. Apparently it takes more than flagpoles and bullhorns to tgake down America.
  3. Third party libility expanding> first aprents jailed for the crimes of their son and now this. An interesting trend to watch.
  4. I don't know. Biden has said some extremely foolish and racist things over the years. On misogynistic stuff he certainly seems to lag way behind Trump, but on raxcist stuff. he seems to xtep in it fairly often and seems to get a pass from his team. As for the items in your second paragraph i will not take issue except, perhaps, with the timeline. Things move pretty slowly in Washington.

Colorado House Bill 24-1292 seeks to ban more or less all semiautomatic rifles, many semi-automatic handguns, but does not yet touch shotguns. The ban is for new purchases or for transfers of existing weapons. If I can't transfer my existing weapons it seems to me there has been a partial taking of their value

Our founders overthrew the legitimate government. They wanted the people to retain the right and power to do so. They wanted government to respect if not fear the power retained by the people. They thought that respect would restrain tyranny. It was all about a peoples militia being able to effectively rise up and oppose the standing army and navy of the legitimate government. Is that insane in this day and age. Of course. Yet that is what it meant. If we find it insane we need to amend it, not ignore it or try to interpret it away, but amend it. Anything less or more clearly ignores the constitution. BTW, The founders did not only authorize individual arms. The authoirzed private ship of war. They authorized marques of reprisal essentially allowing privatge ship captains to capture ship of war. To do so those privater ships had to also have cannon and fighting men.
  7. Ahhhh, the Thomas Becket argument. Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest? I guess Trump is not entirely unprecedented but it has been some time.
  8. Neither would be good options for a speech running over an hour. You would be dying for a hit every 5 minutes or so. Just not practical.
  9. Non-actionable threats- Nonspecific, Conditional, remote in time and place, nonsensical Nobody better lay a finger on my Buttterfinger! I will nuke the lot of them! Someday they will pay, oh yes, someday!
  10. No, criticizing Officers of the Court is free speech. Insulting Officers of the Court is free speech if it occurs outside the courtroom. Inside the courtroom it is disruptive of proceedings and is subject to the control of the Court. Threats, legal threats, threats that are clear and present are actionable. Veiled threats where one has to surmise the threat, those are not actionable.

    This economy is so bad

Markets have had a bad time of it the last 8 or so days. Inflation is ticking up. Gas prices are on the rise. (I mention them in particular as though they are included in genreal inflation they make a big psychological impact as we all drive past stations and see the rise in giant numerals). I was in Home Depot yesterday. I saw a Kamodo Joe ceramic smoker. Price was $1699.00. I nearly had a movement. How could that have risen to that price? I was shocked. I took my wife and daughter to dinner Saturday. I re-evaluated my tipping posture. I have been in the 25 to 33% range for many years. I backed it down to 20%. Also we eat out less now than even a few months ago. Prices just seem outlandish.
  12. That was my point/observation on page one. It was a one off.
  13. I have no doubt that Biden was under the influence during the SOTU. I find it irresponsible of his handlers. he is an old man and even with sophisticated medical supervison I think it irresponsible. I thjink the original Star Trek had an episode like this, where the putative leader was more or less a drug cocktail zombie trotted out on T.v. atg the convenience of teh powers behind the throne. I think it featured a hot chick as a Nazi who Kirk had to bone.

    Trump/Biden in a Nutshell

Sort of indicting god. His instrument would be far grander than the orange nubbin.
  15. Outrunning the past can be difficult. Sometimes money is not a sufficient deoderant. Skanks, god love em but they just are not good at shutting the hell up.
  16. I think there ought to be a porn star/client privilege, sort of like with priests/penetants. What is said (and paid) in the sanctity of the fornicatorium stays in the fornicatorium. Of course Trump would still have a problem as such privileges only extend to the the two individuals involved in the act. Once he brings a third party into the relationship to pay the porn star the privilege is broken. Third parties outside of attornies pretty much always break these privileges and for attornies the privileges only remain as to legal advice, not as to other functions like forwarding a criminal enterprise by being a bagman.
  17. Well I imagine jury selection will go on for many days so it will be some time before we hear the prosecution's case in detail and even more before we hear from Trump.
  18. Let us know how it goes. "Honey I did not have an affair with that women, I just opportunistically banged the skank that one time."
  19. I forget where he ended up on this. To my recollection he did deny the incident but then stated (or maybe he had his proxies state) that it did occur but the payments were not about the campaign, it was about Melania not finding out. As i said the trial will certainly refresh my recollection. I don't want to get the facts wrong and have folks think I did so with soime agenda.
  20. I would not term that an affair as did the original post. To me an affair has the connotation of something which was ongoing or repeated over time, it is something more than a one time thing. Not that this has anything to do with the charges. I wonder if Trump's lawyers will offer to stipulate to some of the facts so as to limit testimony a bit.
  21. I did not think the Stormy Daniels incident was an affair. I thought it a one time thing. I must not have followed along thoroughly when it all came out. Frankly I find Stormy Daniels a bit of a pig. Karen McDougal on the other hand is fine as frog's hair. I guess the trial will give me time to become reacquainted with all the salacious details.
