I do not know this for certain but i imagine the ship had taken on board a harbor pilot who would be familiar with hazards and obstacles. As i understand it harbor pilots are in charge completely inside harbor limits. It would ahve been his or her determiantion, I believe.

Depends. The anchors would not stop the ship in its tracks, or even in 100 yards. they may or may not have saved the bridge depending on how much distance there was. Also there are not pipelines and cables everywhere, but potentially they could have gaken out the main fiber optics cable for the town and could ahve ruptured a gas pipeline causing pollution and fire. My point is dropping anchor on a moving ship is no guarantee the ship will stop in a timely fashion.

Then the anchors could have dredged the harbor floor tearing up any number of cables and or pipelines.

I get that. I just took issue with the implication that if he did not have liquid assets in cash that he did not have substantial net worth.

Interstate highway bridge over an international port on the eastern seaboard. Remember the Suez canal being closed and what it allegedly did to economies? well this will have very real consequences for our economy as goods don't flow and traffic gets rerouted and congested. i imagine there are also some very angry ship owners whose ships are now trapped in port for who knows how long behind that barrier.

Seems that amount would need several transactions to bundle together that much money, but what do I know, that is not my field. I do know i would think carefully about making such a loan, collateralized or not, given trump's track record of non-payments and his puffing the value of the collateral. imagine taking a lein on one of his properties and then finding their are 100 prior leins, many of which he forgot to disclose. I would really have to do my due diligence before agreeing to a relationship withn Trump.

I'm not finance guy, but isn't it likely he has his money working for him rather than laying around in liquid cash. It would take me up to a year to free up substqantial assets to make them liquid cash unless i were to take substantial penalties. Some of my money it would take up to three years to access without penalty. My real estte, well i would need to find a buyer, maybe that hapens right away, maybe not for months. I just don't think Trump not seeming to have half a billion dollars in cash tells us much. Now on the other hand trump is all about bluster and gilding the lily. It has always been important to him to seem like a rich big shot and I suspect he hs exaggerated his wealth for decades.

I fly an American flag on Memorial day, Independance day, V.E. and V.J day, Veteran's day, flag day, and election days. Otherwise I keep it furled and stored away. As I have no illumination for it I take it down at sunset on the days I do display it.

I gave up smoking, caffeine, and salt. I gave up listening to news on t.v. and radio as I do not need the aggravation. In the warm months I paddle for a few hours on even days and bike for a few hours on odd days. During those times I get into a rhythm which clears my mind and occassionally I see some amazing wildlife. I do a bit of light weight training. I am replacing my aikido practice with ballroom dancing lessons once a week. I try to walk a mile each evening. I eat nothing processed. I think I am going to get a dog to accompany me on my walks and padddles. Dogs calm me.

You should start a commercial health spa. I know I would be interested in a program like you have outlined.
