I was under the impression that a sophisticated lender like Deutsche Bank did their own very thorough due diligence relying not at all on the assertions of the borrower as those assertions are historically unreliable. With this not being my area of expertise, and with me only minimally following the hearig testimony and the ruling I could well be wrong. it may be that the lenders relied in some degree on the assertions of Trump. If so I would have thought it was their right to go after him civilly. I am skeptical that the govrnment has a genuine interest here as the parties have pathways to rfemedies, fully adequate remedies, without the government getting involved. Do we know whether the lenderes relied in any measure on Trump's assertions or if they only look at their own investigation, separate and apart from those assertions. My guess, there probacbly was some minimal reliance, at least, on Trump's assertions. There was probably somewhat greater reliance on Tax and Building department records, and somewht more on direct investigation, but again, in my case this would all be wild speculation.

I won't join in the downward spiral by voting for either Biden or Trump, both of whom are unfit for office. I will not chose the lesser of two evils when that leads to ever greater evils asking for that choice again in the future. While I am hardly aligned with RFK I will be chosing some third party candidate to support simply to register my disdain for the two major parties. I imagine RFK will do fairly well for that same reason, many are tired of the crap both parties roll out.

So, RFK denies us the rich vein of comedy gold which would have resulted from having Aaron Rodgers as his running mate. I resent that. Still, this Nicole Shanahan, who I was completely unaware of until this moment seems an ingeresting choice. I do not know this for certain but i imagine the ship had taken on board a harbor pilot who would be familiar with hazards and obstacles. As i understand it harbor pilots are in charge completely inside harbor limits. It would ahve been his or her determiantion, I believe.

Depends. The anchors would not stop the ship in its tracks, or even in 100 yards. they may or may not have saved the bridge depending on how much distance there was. Also there are not pipelines and cables everywhere, but potentially they could have gaken out the main fiber optics cable for the town and could ahve ruptured a gas pipeline causing pollution and fire. My point is dropping anchor on a moving ship is no guarantee the ship will stop in a timely fashion.

Then the anchors could have dredged the harbor floor tearing up any number of cables and or pipelines.

Interstate highway bridge over an international port on the eastern seaboard. Remember the Suez canal being closed and what it allegedly did to economies? well this will have very real consequences for our economy as goods don't flow and traffic gets rerouted and congested. i imagine there are also some very angry ship owners whose ships are now trapped in port for who knows how long behind that barrier.

Seems that amount would need several transactions to bundle together that much money, but what do I know, that is not my field. I do know i would think carefully about making such a loan, collateralized or not, given trump's track record of non-payments and his puffing the value of the collateral. imagine taking a lein on one of his properties and then finding their are 100 prior leins, many of which he forgot to disclose. I would really have to do my due diligence before agreeing to a relationship withn Trump.
