So, Red Bird Farms, Jenio, and if so how would we know if their corporate practices are any better? -
Curious, have you made it through any of those ponderous tomes?

NFL Free Agency/ Draft 2024
Engorgeous George replied to Hardcore troubadour's topic in The Geek Club
Far enough. I believe they will win three at home and three on the road winning. Depending on what the Vikes end up with at Q.B. a great unkown currently the Bears could find two more wins pretty easily. Currently I am guessing they lose those games, but The Vikes did lose Cousins and hunter this past week so it is tough to know what they have. The interesting games to me will be the Bears against other Teams with young or rookie Q.B.'s. That could be a good measuring stick. -

And beyond that both have body guards and they both have eyesight and working olfactory senses so they definitely will be avoiding me. Still, there is some possibility, remote though it may be, that we three get stranded on a small desert island after the apocalypse. -
NFL Free Agency/ Draft 2024

Like I said, if they excell, good for them. Even at 6-11 they might be on a fast rising trajectory with their francise guy of the next 15 years if those 6 wins included 6 of their last 7 with wins over the Vikings, Lions, and Packers. Frankly i don't care enough to change my prediction as any prediction, even after the preseason is going to be highly speculative. -

I never said they were unique, though maybe they are as they imagined Trubisky as actually having had a college career and as having a pro career. No, if I was going to make fun of ineptitude at drafting the position i would not put Chicago in a class of its own. Certainly the Jets would ahve to be there, as well as the Redskins/wft/Commanders. -

Difficult to say, particularly before the draft, minicamps, and preseason where anything can happen injury-wise. They have had an interesting offseason thus far. I think I would say they should be happy with a 6-11 record if they are starting a rookie Q.B. who did not earn his college stripes in the SEC or the Bid Ten, but out in the PACWhatever? There are lots of can't miss prospects at Q.B. floating around as backups now. Me, as long as the Bears continue to lose to the Packers I am happy for them to excel otherwise, but of course we have not really seen them excel since1985, though they did pretty well the following year as well. -

Packs of gum can't be that hard to come by in Chicago. Isn't Wrigley's headquartered there, or have they since outsourced to Cambodia? -

So, for the third time in seven years the Bears are going to use their first pick on a Q.B. I wonder how many years it will take for this pick to go to the Steelers to be a back up as have the previous two. -

Thrust into the spotlight? Really? They grabbed the spotlight and shone it on themselves. Unfortunately they were stupid and grabbed the spotlight not by its housing but by its 10,000 watt bulb and they got burned. Man you are an asshat. -

Bidenomics = Bidenflation. Trump and his team need to start printing the flags with this on it now. Me, I am going to see if RFK's team needs somebody to be the Secretary of Intoxication. Aaron Rodgers cannot be expected to do everything. I am going to need a staff. To prove I am not part of the old boy network I will hire nothing but young woman. No experience necessary. I am going to be the one to give them a break. They say all they want is a chance. They say how can they get experieince if no one will give them a chance, well I am the guy.

Bernie Sanders Proposes Reducing Americans’ Workweek to 32 Hours
Engorgeous George replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
He should have proposed stazrting with 4 10's, then after a year or two reducing to 4 9's, then again 4 8.5's, and finally 4 8's. Incrementalism. Get that camel's nose in the tent. a guy with bernie's nose should appreciate the concept. -

I like the cut of your jib. I like my coke with cognac, my shrooms with a good single malt, and my pot with an ice cold beer. Peyote I refrain from drink, and acid, well its all good then. -

If the thieves enter your home, grab your key fob, and then decide they might be up for a bit of a rape do the Toronto police also advise that you and your spouse strip off your britches and await the intruder butt up on your bed? -

I predict hubris will, ironically, trump integrity. I predict Ms. Willis will try to remain on the case and will excoriate the judge to her, and his, constituency. That will be the great irony. The judge will have tried to pander here to his constituency and she will use his ruling to poison him with that constituency. -

I believe anyone prosecuting an ex-President and a current candidate for that office needs, like Ceasar's wife, to be above reproach. Ms. Willis clearly is not. She ought to have the integrity or the shame to step aside. -

I think we can now anticipate interlocatory appeals and attempts to make referrals to the Bar or the Supreme Court of Georgia, (depending on how Georgia licensure works). -

i have expressed my belief earlier in this thread that it was shameful the deference the judge paid to Ms. Willis when she was on the stqand. He, in my mind, abdicated his judicial control and responsibilites to her allowing her to be both nonresponsive and rambling and self serving while she testilied on the stand.
