Incorrect. Biden's matter arose after Trump had been charged and so his response was a calculated one in light of that national story. Biden had documents he had mishandled for fourty years. He had documents in at least three unsecured locations for fourty years. He had those documents moved around by staff and he shared them with at least his biographer. When he was found out he made excuses such as they were secure because after all they were stored next to his corvette (the most disgusting color corvette available). He then had his lawyers cull through the boxes and return the documents.We lawyers, being what we are, represent our client's versions of truth and maybe should not be trusted unless under oath, in court. Three days later a search was done by the President's own Justice Department. He then cooperated. The Special Council examined the facts. The Special Council found all of the elements of the crime well established, all of them. the Special Counci lthen did something highly unusual. He made a call that the criminal lacked the capacity to be put on trial and was so diminished a jury would have sympathy and do jury nullification.

I'm retired. Maybe I will drive the 1000 miles and do some shrooms. It is not as if there are huge demands on my time and road trips can be fun.

Biden/Harris steps aside at the convention or before for the good of the new generation of leadership movement the Dems will propose. All current debates are ended and new, refreshing debates begin, from the Dem/media pererspective.

As for the Gavin newsome problem Dems simply say they can't spare him in California. Its all bs of course but it will sell because it has to.

As for the Kamala problem the Dems simply say they need her more on the Supreme Court than in the oval office and she would not deprive the Country of her service there, would she? Problem solved.

The Dems don't need Biden. They will rally around any candidate with equal fervor. By ditching Biden they can ditch the baggage of the last four years and move on into the future with a new generation of forward looking leadership, or some such crap. This is a Hakeem Jeffries moment. Maybe paired with Katie Hobbs or Gretchen Wittmer for their governing experience. maybe even the lesbian from Mass, whatshernameandpronouns. Biden brings only negatives. Still not too late to move on and pragmatists will prevail. Last night we saw the long knives drawn from their scabbards.

My belief is that whoever shifts to the next generation first will dominate the election. Dems, maybe Hakeem Jeffries, Republicans maybe Ron DeSantis. The horror of the current choice is begining to take hold, even to thos acolutes on both sides of the coin.

Historically trying to read the tea leaves based on questions during oral argument has been tricky. Justices often ask hard hitting questions sounding skeptical of an argument precisely becasue they are trying to msrshall arguments from Counsel they can use to butress the decision they may be contemplating. they play the devil's advocate and they do it well. Recently I have noticed a trend away from the historical trend. now they seem to relish the spotlight and to be advocating for their final position, but one never really knows.
