Details released on bipartisan immigration bill that MAGAturds don't want because it vaporizes a Clownzo campaign issue
Engorgeous George replied to Pimpadeaux's topic in The Geek Club
I am not making the argument on behalf of republicans who have never truely stood as conservatives anyhow, not as the term once was understood before the shift of meanings the last twenty years. Being a constitutionalist (the philosophy, not the party) andbeing fiscally responsible I have no party. I spend marginally more time railing against the party currently in power and the idiots that wholeheartedly support them, but when the pendulum swings I rail against the other side as well. -

Government money. You mean our tax dollars taken in confiscatory actions. Next, if you do not look at all expenditures together you end up having no budget. Expenditures will exceed available funds. Government will have to borrow or print money devaluing savings and investment returns. Why if we did this for any length of time we might find ourselves in debt we can barely service with our currency losing its integrety around the world and at home. -
Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey nominates former romantic partner to state's high court

The governor knows how the nominee loves a good oral argument. She has had to make split decisions before. -

California and Texas refugees both have made Colorado change from Solidly Red to blue over the last 30 years and have driven up the cost of living. Californians in particdular have been a problem here. They fled their state to avoid the consequences of their many initiatives (propositions) got here, and tried to recreate those same initiatives causing havoc here. They are a plague. They are stupid, persistently unlearning, and in large enough numbers to have changed the electorate landscape.

Never have.

Nope. I believe the reason many poor and uneducated, including blacks remain poor and uneducated is that they recieve rewards for being so and doing so. We have softened the negative consequences for bad choices so people keep making them. We get what we subsidize, surprize. I have noticed before that I seem to rub you- the wrong way. You seek the worst interpretation of my remarks rather than taking them at face value. If I insulted you I do not remember, but I apologize. I feel no need to get into it with you. frankly your reaction to me surprises me. my memory of our interactions is that I have supported you and have always been respectful, but i do know I can be caustic and perhaps i was once with you.

The good news is they captured enough to serve half a million people. The bad news is they have twenty times that in population. Puts my in mind of the Firesign Theatre skit the Further Adventures of Nick Danger. They are describing a car accident. Officer Brady decribes a car careening straight towards Rocky Rococco. He stats that at the last possible moment the car stopped on a dime. Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococco's pocket. This has the same feel for me. -
Dictator Zelensky has put Tucker Carlson on a “Kill List” for interviewing Putin.

Psycho: The name's Francis Sawyer, but everybody calls me Psycho. Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you. Leon: Ooooooh. Psycho: You just made the list, buddy. Also, I don't like no one touching my stuff. So just keep your meathooks off. If I catch any of you guys in my stuff, I'll kill you. And I don't like nobody touching me. Any of you homos touch me, and I'll kill you. Sergeant Hulka: Lighten up, Francis. -
The first time I saw the Baby Doo I wandered into a club in Chicago. Must have been 1975. He was playing alone just tickling his piano. Up from the crowd stepped a robust black fella who had a guitar. That was the first time i heard Freddy King and the song Same Old Blues.

Pretty sure I have seen the Baby Doo credited on Willie Dixon and Howling Wolf tracks.

He was funny. If you requested a song he would look at you, say the Baby needs his milk if you know what i'm saying, and if you bought him a drink he would play your song. I bought the Baby a fair amount of milk.

I have an L.P. that he sold from venues he would play. I never looked to see whether he is searchable on line. I'm guessing not. He was old in the 70's and only regionally popular from Chicago up the river to Minneapolis and down the river and up the tributary to Memphis. Pretty much just three towns.

They seem increasingly to be tiring of the lies of the democrats. They seem to be evaluating, as a voting demographic, (and I don't really believe in voting dfemographics as monoliths) to be considering republicans. Unfortunately they too will fail of any promises. Governments which are looked at as providers are governments which will fail of the promise. governments provide nothing. governments take and they make rules for the governed, but they do not provide, not in any meaningful way. Hard work provides. Diligence, education, defering gratification, planning, these things provide and until that is relearned against all of the propoganda there will be suffering. Still, you want to be part of the propoganda that there is pie in the sky. There was an old blues pianist, Leonard "the Baby Doo" Kasten. He had a great song entitled There May Not Be No Pie In the Sky When You Die. well there ain't none in domocratic policies either.

I was not intending to offer anything new since you brought nothing new to the table upon which I could comment. What you are saying is you would double down on programs which have failed for 50 years so that you can be assuaged, so that you can feel morally superior, that you know the true path. That would bother me not in the least if you did not need my tax dollars to do so and if the victims of your ill-concieved policies opted in at the age of consent, rather than in their teens as they drop out of school and set up their welfare households. BTW have any African Americans ever personally thanked you for your paternalism? They can't take care of themselves but thank god they have you looking out for them, setting them on a course for continued poverty and ignorance, paving the street to that destiny with low expectations, with built in excuses..

I can't remember, is it Oyez or Cornell's part of Oyez that broadcasts arguments while they are happening. Could be interesting to listen in. In the end I expect the supremes to go along with Justice Samour's dissent, but who knows.

I laugh at the concept of a safety net. Safety nets are intended to catch the falling. They are not intended to be nesting sites for generations. That is what they have become, safety nests. Liberals have had their xsperiment on fighting poverty since Johnson's Great Society. Their solutions have bred generational poverty and ignorance. How long are we going to tolerate incentivizing ignorance, school drop outs, and teen pregnancy while touting improving education, another three or four generations? You are always going on about institutional racism when an institution is not racist but individuals within it are. Here is your example of institutional degradation and yes racism. We have institutions which foster a subclass which is unemployable and ignorant, living in squalor, and while the programs are somewhat broader than to one race only they were initiated and are continued by folks that just don't think the black man can get by without the white government's paternalism.

I believe in the rule of law. At the same time, deep down inside I am a raging beast. Reconciling the two halfs is occassionally difficult. Vigilantism needs to be prohibited societally. At the same time I understand it and might, if the circumstances were just right, engage in it myself.

Californians shocked by electric bills after rate hike: 'Like you're getting punished'

Yes, I've driven past them. All out in sensitive dessert ecosystems, out by the Joshua Tree National Park where they are out of sight and out of mind and killing lord nows how many migratory birds. How adequate of an electrical grid do you imagine all those turbines produce?
