UNLV shooting - Police report multiple casualties and suspect dead in Las Vegas attack
Engorgeous George replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
Rumors can get half way around the wosrld before the truth has got its boots on. With apologies to Mark Twain -
And he looked very promising during the preseason. No, the Packers have done well given their challenges. I would just like to see a few less pre-snap penalties and all recievers fighting back to the ball when it is underthrown. I would like to see blocks sustained and I would like to see Dillon run hard everytime. i would like to see tackles completed and assignments followed. I would like to see T.E.'s not allowed to run free in the middle of our defense. Still, given their age, massive amount of injuries, and the fact that they are working through a pile of dead money they are doing well. I am looking forward to the close out of this season. Given the schedule they could go on a real nice run here if only they can avoid injuries and get a few back. Maybe Jones and Alexander this week.

The store has been open for 22 years. It was relatively rural upon open but now the metro area has grown out to surround it. Apparently the Day Laborers have determined there is enough activity out here to justify them traveling out here to look for work. Its a sign of changing times. No more antelope or coyotes in my yard. No more black bears or mountain lions in the neighborhood. Fewer stars at night from the light pollution. Maybe its time to move further out. My rural lifestyle is now apparently suburban. I saw a nice place on a quarter section of land. It has a creek that flows for around 7 months out of the year, a few cottonwoods, some scrub oak. It has a pool, a detacted 6 car garage with a workshop, and office and a MIL apartment, and a fairly nice2600 sq. ft. main house. It's another 15 miles out. Decent well, new septic system, solar, wind, and geothermal with propane backup. It even has a pool that appears fairly nice but has not been operated in three years so who knows.

Day laborers arrive at my local Home Depot

I'm wondering if I stand out at the Home Depot if I can get jobs for cash. I'm pretty handy. I've seen enough porn to know the handyman scores. -

House built in 2000 so lots of windows as was the paradigm then. Many large and two arch windows. I'm guessing $25,000 to replace 24 windows. Could be less. i once spoke to an Andersen Replacement guy and It struck me this would be costly. As for re-piping a little investigation has mer convinced I can maybe do this under #13,000 so maybe #8 to 35 for both jobs. My initial estimate was drenched it seems in pessimism. -

My wife will really wish we moved whenthe builder grade windows on our current home start giving way. They are 24 years old and will not make it beyond two more yeaqrs, and might not make it beyond two more hours. We are going to need to repipe our home and buy new windows. I'm guessing a $50,000 hit next spring. -

Update I was outbid for the property I was considering. My wife agreed to me placing in a bid when a pipe cracked in our current home. The Day laborers only congregated there for three days. I have not seen them since then, -
Blacks Fleeing The Democratic Party
Engorgeous George replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
The impending demographic shift is now becoming apparent. Blacks may be realizing they may not haver a seat at the big table. They are being relegated to the Kids table at Thanksgiving and the new, favored guests, are getting their former seat. -
Lions fans have certainly paid some dues.

Blacks Fleeing The Democratic Party
Engorgeous George replied to League Champion's topic in The Geek Club
I believe we have seen these claims or promises before from some in the black community (as if there is a homogenous black community which I do not really accept). Thus far they have amounted to very little changed voting patterns, to my understanding at least. Is this the election cycle that changes, who knows, but I tend to believe past behavior is predictive of future behavior. I do note that the promises made in campaign seasons have evaporated once elections are decided. I sometimes p;icture a politician Lucy holding a football of promises waiting for a black Charlie Brown to kick it. -
NYC to charge drivers $23 daily to drive cars in the city
Engorgeous George replied to Stryker Ryker's topic in The Geek Club
They need to train their super rats to pull rickshaws. Single occupancy rickshaws could travel side by side, two to a traffic lane, thus alleviating congestion. Call them Less than Handsome cabs. I figure four rats, in a team, to every rickshaw. -

I'll take the one with the abs on our right of the buluga whale. -
I hope not. I meet him a few times when he was a kid. Nice kid, respectful.

He does run hard. i've noticed few plyers do anymore. Lots of guys slide down or go out of bounds to avoid hits, no McCaffrey. Like walter Payton he lowers his shoulder and gets a few more yards on every carry.
-
They desperately need to keep Purdy, McCaffery, and Samuels healthy. We shall see.

It takes good fortume to win a Superbowl. Good health being primary. Not getting screwed by the refs secondary.
-
They do indeed. That said, I will believe it when I see it. Am I encouraged over the last two games, yes. Am I sold, no. Sometimes the bounces and the calls just go your way. Look at Denver and their now over 5 game streak. Denver sucks but for five games the calls and the bounces went their way. maybe that's what happened for the P-ackers the last two games. Time will tell.

NYC to charge drivers $23 daily to drive cars in the city
Engorgeous George replied to Stryker Ryker's topic in The Geek Club
Physically stopping folks to collect the toll would only add to congestion so I prersume they will try to charge folks using license plate readers. How will that work? They will have to add to a bureaucracy to send out tickets and to process payments. How will that work for out-of-staters? In the end it will just drive more business and more folks out of New York, which is fine, but they then end up infesting other areas. -
Not to mention thney are crippled salary cap-wise with Rodgers and Bahktieri getting the lion's share of the cap. next year, with Rogers wasjhing out of the cap, and hopefully with bahktieri eiater healthy or gone, and another draft choice for rogers they can maybe start making some real noise. i will need to see them stop making stupid penalties and for their receivers to want the ball more than life itself, but I see a bright future.

I would like to see the Packers healthy, or relatively so for at least one game this season. If they got back Jones and Musgrave, if they got back Alexander and Stokes, and if Watson is hleathy they have some substantial pieces. Basically we have been seeing a very young, and very hurt team this year. I'd just like a glimpse of them healthy. I have no illusions about them, but i believe they are somewhat better than they have thus far shown. We shall see.

Packers and Lions are maybve on a playoff collission course. Maybe.

Discussion about rape and the movie The Accused
Engorgeous George replied to peenie's topic in The Geek Club
Oh, one last thing before I go. There is no question in my mind that we men are the most dangerous thing a woman can encounter. no question in my mind back in the day or now that acquaintance rape far exceeds stranger in the dark alley rape. Women need to be cautious around we men until they know us for a long time.
