Trump names Jeanine Pirro interim US attorney for DC

I was unfamiliar with this woman and her resume. Some solid stuff on her resume, and some questionable mostly through association with her husband. Seems she has been out of the game for some time, commenting as opposed to practicing. -
White teen killed by black homeowner after ringing doorbell at 3am
Engorgeous George replied to TimHauck's topic in The Geek Club
Didn't we have another similar thread a while back with kids filming themselves inside homeowners homes. Seems they were looking for reaction from the homeowners as to what they would do so they could post those reactions online. This seems an inevitable result of such a trend. My general principles collide here. I believe if you precipitate a crisis, and waking a person at #:00 AM with a confusing and potentially dangerous situation qualifies, you don't get to complain how the confused person you have put to a decision reacts. I also happen to think gun owners have a high responsibility with their weapons and that they don't get to shoot on hunches or impressions or 'what might come to pass". Self defense does not extrapolate into the future, it is used in the immediate present when the danger is apparently very real and very immediate. -
So around an additional $26,000 in taxes if your earnings cross that threshold? I imagine most folks in that pay range will have tax lawyers and accountants find ways to avoid that increase. Hell, I imagine they already do even at the 37% rate.

India-Pakistan: 125 Jets Clash in One of Largest Dogfights in Recent History
Engorgeous George replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
With the planes separated by over 100 miles to me it is a defensive screen of air to air missle platforms. I want my dogfighters to see the whites of their eyes, so to speak. Still, it is just semantics and I get that terms evolve faster than do I. -

Lord help us all if Trump spent his time here getting to know us as he has done with the Fox News folks. Imagine the appointments he might make. As for me, I will accept no appointment which would have me in D.C. I don't do well in Cities. Correction, I might accept a position as a Nuncio. I dig that Title but I think maybe only the Vatican uses that Title and i would likely burst into flames if I ever set foot inside there. -

I guess I'm old and out of touch and in the way. I romanticise dog fighting as WWI and WWII pilots getting up close and personal. Growing up I had a neighbor I use to do chores for. An unassuming guy from my youthful view. They had a late in life kid and asked me to babysit a few times. The first time I went in their house I saw a bunch of pictures of WWII fighter planes. Then I saw a plaque with a bunch of medals. I asked my Dad about it. He said yes, didn't you know he was an Ace? I didn't. My impression of the guy changed right there. -
I get the connection he is making and this thread has turned from art appreciation or criticism to stalking horses for fraud, so I get it. I just think the bit coin realm different enough, and important enough to merit its own stand alone thread, or to be included in some of those threads which do exist. In the end there is no telling others where a discussion should go so I roll with the punches. Meanwhile I am waiting for Target or some other retailer to come out with Hunter Biden ties, sort of a rip off of the Jerry Garcia ties. His "art" is colorful and might just translate to that use. i would never buy one, but I will never buy another tie. Retirement is nice that way.

Seems like it may deserve its own thread.

Looks like India gets its fighters from France and Russia. Looks like Pakistan gets them from the U.S,. China, France, sweden, and that they manufacture some themselves. -

Wondering who makes their planes and their missiles. Are we supplying both sides? By "we", I mean American companies. -

I would not term the encounter a dog fight. I always thought of a dog fight as being when the combatants were at least close enough to see each other if not within a few hundred yards or less. I think of it as them mixing it up, flying in among each other, not at 100 mile distances detecting each other on radar. -

If I am the opposing coach i am running at him. Let's see how he holds up in run support. I am motioning t.e.'s in his direction, lets see how he holds up against behemoths. Basically I play him at wide receiver and a few snaps on defense on third and longs.

Crowd comparison. Lady Gaga and the Papacy

Would be awesome if when the new Pope appears they preceed his entrance with the pick selection tune from the NFL draft. -
I saw were lady Gaga drew 2.5 million for some concert in Brazile just recently. i saw today there were 250,000 in St. Peter's square awaiting the announcement on a new Pope. She outdrew that event 10 to 1. I don't know what that signifies, but I found it interesting.

Seem old for ringing doorbells. I think we stopped that at about 12 years old. In this day and age, with everybody having ring cameras, not to mention the neighbors across the street having them too, what is the point? If all they did was ring the doorbell he should not have shot. Thieves rarely ring to announce their presence. If they tried his door or his windows at 3:00am and if they were wearing masks or had burglar tools or weapons, fine, shoot since there were three and you were outnumbered and it was early, early morning. -

Things have changed in the 40 years since I lived there. I think Fnord lives in or near the Twin Cities. he could offer some insight. I have not seen him around in a while. I hope all is well with him.
