I will watch this with mild interest. If Trump did what is commercially customary in valuation of assets for commercial real estate loans, even if it involved substantial puffery which is a legal concept, I don't see where the fraud occured. If the claim against him is for misvaluing assets for tax purposes and thus not paying sufficient tax I see a victim and a case, but puffery in commercial settings between parties with an expectation that would occur and with the resources to make their own evaluations as to whether they have adequate security for a loan, I don't know. Right now I am unclear as to what would be the appealable issue, the errors alleged. If I do end up following this maybe I will learn a little something about commeercial lending. Then again, maybe not.
