Best Prize You Got From A Box Of Cereal Growing Up
Engorgeous George replied to BunnysBastatrds's topic in The Geek Club
I can't remember which cereal but they had a 45 record of the Archies singing Sugar Sugar manufactured into the cereal box. You had to cut it out with scissors. It was constructed of cardboard and wax. It did play, and more than once. Captain Crunch would send you stuff if you clipped their box tops and sent them in to Battlecreek Michigan. My brotheer sent away for a treasure chest with a real lock. On the ceral box it looked to be made of wood and metal and to be about the size of a foot locker. When it came it was made of plastic. It was big enough to hold 4 by 6 index cards. It did, however, have a lock and key. which did sort of work. Sugar Frosted Flakes sent me a beach towel featuring Tony the Tiger when I sent in box tops. Inside the cereal boxes themselves, i don't remember a single item though my brothers and I would fight over getting them, whatever they were. -

Saw that the Colorado Springs illegals roundup produced illegals, and drugs, including Pink Cocaine. I was surprised to learn that this is a new drug cocktail of many powdered drugs rarely containing cocaine, a cocktail which is then dyed pink. Now I may sound like the stereotypical old man shouting at kids to get off of my lawn and arguing with clouds but "don't step on my cocaine!"

Yeah when your dong's in the stink, instead of the pink, pink cocaine. When you find out that Furry, is an old Jew named Murray, pink cocaine She don't lie, well not much, pink cocaine.

You may well be correct. I wonder as I have lived to see several swings in the political landscape from the rise and fall of Nixon to the overwhelming resurgence of Republicans a few short years latter after the fall of Nixon. I have seen Next Gingrich'scontract with America wax and wan in less than two years. I saw the death of the republican party declared under Obama's watch and the death of the democrqatic party declared during Clinton's capers. Still, you may be right. I even suspect that you are, taht our partisanship has taken us to a place from which there is no easy retreat, no ready change of course. All of that said, my post was about language. There is little historic about Trumps margin of victory. It is quite pedestrian in our country's relatively short history. If we are to define it on a short era, an era of the lasst decade, well we don't really know whether it is an outlier or not. Language has meaning and titles, whether earned or bestowed have context, and context and meaning are important. If we destroy language' meanings how will we communicate. Trump is boastful, full of braggadoccio and he needs these self-imposed titles adn accolades, but we do not have togo along with his pretense. Why can't we simply say that Trump won and exceeded the expectations of many, including Kamala and the mainstream press and leave it at that. I mean if he truely had a mandate congress would not be moving so slowly and assiduously counting votes as they preapre the One Big Beautiful Bill ( a label Trump Stole from Clinton referencing his ).

Washington, Jefferson, Lincioln, Reagan, Nixon, Roosevelt, those were historic landslides. Trump won, but hardly a major mandate. more like a boydate.

DEI Judge Hannah Dugan arrested by FBI for allegedly helping undocumented immigrant 'evade arrest
Engorgeous George replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
I just know that when LEO are told to effectuate an arrest outside of the courtroom they stand vigil at the public exit watching for the individual. They do not expect the individual to receive special, highly unusual dispensation from the judge to exit by the non-public exit into an area they are not vigilently monitoring. The Judge took exceptional action. She gave exceptional defference. She will have to explain her exception or it will be judged on its appearance. In the law there is a concept, Res Ipsa Locquitor meaning the thing speaks for itself. In this case I find that her actions speak for themselves. I see corruption, you suggest there may be another, noncorrupt reason, but you don't give it. Absent a rerasonable explanation other than what seems clear I will stick with my discription. Again, you are free to see it and describe it as you will. Oh, I do appreciate that you brought the source document to this discussion. I note that in my literally thousands of courtroom appearances in thousands upon thousands of court trials and many hundreds of jury trials I have seen judges use their Chambers exit or the Jury exit for defendants or witnesses only in extreme circumstances where the press is waiting to mob someone who has just been through the emotional wringer or when their physical safety may be threatened by witnesses, victims or impassioned members on an inflammed public mob. I have seen it less than a score of times. In every instance I agreed with the action. Here I do not. Oh, as you are a decent and respectful fellow I allow you the courtesy of the last word with me if you choose to exercise that option. -

Engorgeous George replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
I define deliberate noncooperation with federal LEO and allowing him a headstart to potential escape as corruption for a judge. She ought to respect the system and the process and trust that the system will work for the individyual. You do not. That's fine with me. Not everyone has to see the word the same way as do I. Feel free to label her actions as you will. I just know with over 35 years experience in the legal system, the vast majority as a career prosecutor and a law clerk before that and a trainer at FLETC that I would describe her behavior as corrupt.
