DEI Judge Hannah Dugan arrested by FBI for allegedly helping undocumented immigrant 'evade arrest
Engorgeous George replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
No, I do not think she was paid money to do so. That would be one type of corruption. I was referring to the corruption of indulging her political bias in contravention of her sworn duties. I was referring to her having different standards for her own behavior than she ought to, as a judge, for others. I was referring to her indulging her political passion as opposed to upholding her judicial duties. But no, I did not mean, and did not think I implied, that she had been paid. If that was what was conveyed by my post i guess I need to tighten down my writting. -

He was that Furry over in the corner looking more like George the Animal Steele than some adorable woodland creature who was dry humping the barstool while trying to get the bartender to make him a wine spritzer. -
I just know we cannot let California liberals get there first or getting a building permit for new construction to move into would be nearly impossible.

I think there is a place for a vehicle or two that do not load themselves down with needless expense. It did not hurt me to roll down my own windows on my first few cars and trucks. I got by just fine without a touch screen, back up cameras, car alarms, parking assist, seat warmers blue tooth and all the other crap which boosts the costs of cars to ridiculous levels. I sometimes wonder what it would cost to reproduce a Chevy Chevette or a Honda CVCC with the base features they had in the 70's but with today's tech as far as feul injection. Those things would get 50 mpg and be reasonable to insure and to repair. Imagine the diesal Rabbits of the 70's reproduced now. I bet those things would get 65mpg.

The corrupt judge has not been disappearerd, executed, or taken to a gulag without due process. She will be arraigned and tried before another judge, and given the right to appeals. This is not a serious and drastic move threatening the separation of powers, rather it is a serious and drastic move to protect the bench from the corruption of a judge who thinks she is a queen, who thinks she is above the law. -

Yes, you have made it clear you are a man of principles. It is also clear that actually acting upon your principles is something you will not do. You will consider and then dismiss the idea of personal sacrifice. -

I believe russian bears highest aspiration is to get out of the wild, get a tutu, and learn to roller skate. What tiger does not want to live in an enclosure in Nebraska? Also, I am pretty sure that all Lipizzaner stallions desire to run around in a circle under the big top while being ridden by toy poodles.- 13 replies

You would like to direct the transfer of wealth from those who have produced it to those who have not. When I talk about fairness I talk about not being robbed for the benefit of the robber and the detriment of the robbee. You make the claim that robbery is good for the economy. I make the claim that it is bad, that allowing wealth to go to the non-productive and penalizing the productive leads to less production, less wealth. You then seem to want to butress your illogical position by saying that a special interest group likely to benefit from the transfer supports the robbery. I'm sure those realtors do, just as I am sure that gangs support crimes committed by their members. You are a fine example of a liberal arts educated progressive living in an echo chamber. You have had your beliefs reinforced so strongly you cannot see beyond them or even realize that there is a beyond. you claim to be well read and yet youdon't understand what you read. You remind me of the character Otto from A Fish Called Wanda. In arguing he is above animals in intelligence he boasts that he is because animals do not read the philosophy of Niechzte. Wanda points our that they might but that they simply do not understand it. I have found in life that those of subaverage intelligence don't percieve that they are. Some believe themselves to be quite intelligent . Sadly they lack the intelligence to even assess their own shortcomings. -

I remember at four I was in the milking barn with Granda. A cat started rubbing against the leg of the cow being milked. The cow stepped on the cat breaking its back up not killing the cat. Grandpa looked at me and said grab that shovel and take care of the cat. I gently scooped the cat onto the shovel to carry it to wherever we were going to take care of it. My Graandpa said no, grabbed the shovel tossing the cat to the floor and used the shovel to "take care of it" by decapitating the cat, scooping it back up, handing it to me, and telling me to toss it out back. I cried. I learned. -

Damn, my homophobia, my revulsion to same sex physical contact keeps me from an otherwise rollicking good time. Do you think I could get away with exsing myself to the bathroom during gay make out time and just returning for the rest, or is this like AA where you don't get coffee and donuts if you don't soon particpate? Hi, I'm EG and I'm a homophobe. Hi EG! -

You also cannot argue that the money would be spent, some in housing upgrades and renovations, some in the auto industry, some in arts and leisure. Your analysis stops prematurely becasue you are the one with the emotional issue. -

It is amusing to us that you never follow through with a full analysis, stopping from addressing the obvious based upon your desire to pick winners, winners you support politically and philosophically while ignoring all others. -

So you are reluctant to admit the obvious point by citing to the rare exception and not the rule. Let's look at it another way. You want that loan 'forgiveness" so that the young and privileged can purchase homes thereby spuring the economy. What you neglect to admit is that those privileged kids certainly get to spur the economy, but the money with which they are doing so is money transferred from others, others who would have invessted or spent equally spurring the economy. You pretend this is an increase in money supply and productivity. It is not. It is simply spending from a different group, a group that has not earned the right to spend and who has learned poor lessons in responsibility." have -

Yet I am certain that those who sign leases with you agreeing to pay future amounts actually have to pay those amounts or suffer adverse consequences. I bet you do not forgive the amounts as it may be good for the economy. The very basis for you entering into agreements are the expectation that agreements will be honored. Once that is gone so too is the basis of our current economy. -

If they wqant to purchase their homes with the same intention as they purchased their educations they will simply be acquiring yet another thing of value under false pretenses. Better to teach them to honor their comitments. In the long run honored commitments are good for the economy, not bail outs. -

I'd enlist. Imagine the sharp uniform and the sexy combat badges one could obtain. Chicks would be all over it. Imagine the thrill of a whale calvary charge with 20 fellow whale riders all breaking the water's surface, thowing wakes and the whales shooting water out their blow holes as the lead whalerider plays ride of the Valkyries on his Radio Raheem '80's boom box. It would be awe inspiring. -

It has been 35 years since I worked in Minnesota so I do not keep up on the laws, but as a law clerk one of the first cases i addressed was one of one farmer shooting two dogs from a neighboring farm who constantly got out and chased his dairy cows. At the time, in Minnesota it was legal to shoot dogs "worrying" livestock. "Worrying" they called it. I imagine it still is. I know that even in the 60's and 70's our investment in a good producing dairy cow could be upwards of $10,000. You don't let some mutt chase the milk right out of her. Animals viewed through a Disney lense by City folks get far less deferrence on farms and ranches. The metric of concern and respect is judged fianancially and that is about it. -

Imagine the horror of our Seal Teams if, as they approach a coast all of a sudden sharply attired Nazi Super soldiers/Sailors saddled onto angry sperm whales attacked. They would be overwhelmed. No, it is imperative that we do not have a whale/nazi gap with other countries. We must control the oceans and seas. -

Laughable. Diversion is for first time, one time offenders or offenders of reduced mental capacity due to addictions which might be treated. In this instance the defendant was not a one time, first time offender. No, this defendant was involved in an ongoing criminal enterprise. he had time to weigh and evaluate his actions and he deliberately undertook his criminal conduct in the face of that. His was a crime where the circumstances were aggravated as they were repeated. As for the spurious argument that if he is imprisoned he will not be in a position to pay restitution, hogwash. He is a government employee. He has a pension which can be attached. Do so. This is a shady, sweetheart deal where the insane governor looks to the prosecutor of the same party to put up in front of a judge of the same party a ridiculous deal, poorly justified, to get off a member of that political party. This is dirty.
