The cats around our barns, silos, and cribs had to fend for themselves. Given the amount of feed corn we grew and stored there were always rats and mice around and so the cats made a good living for themselves. Their population was more or less held in stasis by the hunting opportunities. If there were too many cats for the prey available they would move off in search of other opportunities. The only cats we cared to cull were those with a propensity for troubling the cows when they were being milked. Those we dispatched, usually with a spade. -

By your reasoning, after the first lie ever told everybody else has a justification for doing so as well. I'm O.K. with that as I am half irish and so full of the blarney. -
Cancer scientist retained by ICE halting groundbreaking discoveries

Seems a scientist of her repute would know and appreciate the rules and the ramifications for breaking them. I suppose she might be the proverbial absent minded professor but in this day and age, when engaging in international travel, I find it hard to believe that folksoverlook such matters, particularly when every international flight I have been on announces maybe 5 or 6 times that you need to make declarations and they actually pass out the forms on the flight. -

I was hoping we could get some announcement about agreements in principle this week on trade, maybe with Japan, Italy or the E.U. and or India. Even if the deals were not consumated and might take weeks or months to come to fruition such an announcement(s) would do wonders for stabilizing things. Sadly, with the terrorist attack in India I imagine their attention is elsewhere right now. I would be shocked to hear anything from them for some weeks now. -

I am going to take the position that i do not want folks bringing petri dishes of unknown substances into our country, particularly into transportation hubs. I'm funny that way. -

Prerogatory? I believe the word they were looking for was derogatory. Sad that neither in the video seemed to know that. -
I worked out this morning, arms, chest, shoulders and back. I bumped the weights just a touch higher. i then went out for a paddle. I was about 2.5 miles from my launch point when the wind switched and came up hard, maybe 35 mph in a matter of minutes. At the same time a patch I had put in my kayak two years ago sprang a small leak. The waves rapidly became whitecaps substantially higher than my freeboard, maybe 2 and 1/2 times the height. I had to pull for home with frankly more than i had. I was sinking, slowly and the water was 38 degrees. With the wind and the waves had I stopped paddling to bail I may well have swamped so I just kept pulling with an ever lowering (sinking) kayak getting ever heavier from the water coming in. Damn my arms have had it. Time to redo that patch job.

Black Serial Killer Kills Wife During Conjugal Visit
Engorgeous George replied to HB Localboy's topic in The Geek Club
Must one be married to get a conjugal visit or can girlfriends or casual acquaintances participate? What is the contraceptive policy, if any? i mean could a lifer be allowed to fatdher a child he has no way of supporting? What about female prisoners. Can they get the same rights and if so how do we keep them form concieving during their sentences, or do we care? Equal protection sems like it would mean they can get knocked up during their sentence. -

Sequel? I could see a prequel, but a sequel? I suppose he could awake, roll the stone and ascend, but that seems like it might be a bit short for a sequel. -

Who knew that Town Hall Meetings and their frequency was such a contentious matter. The male needs to learn how to record a video on his phone, unless, of course, he has some sort of foot fetish in which case he did just fine. She has nice ankles. Even with the escalation of language at the end i do not feel it called for the "C" word. He busted that out a bit inappropriately for my taste. -

I don't know. Nothing focuses the mind like watching wealth drain away, even if only temporarily. The uncertainty of its return can have a bracing and sobering effect on the romance with a politician. -

The fact that I do not like Trump does not mean I hope for his failure. I do not. The thrust and essence of this thread is about the tolerance the mob has for sacrifice or perceived sacrifice before it turns on him. I believe Trump's course on tariffs was ham-handed. That does not mean I object to reciprocal tariffs as I actually support them. Unfortunately Trump went too far, clumsily, and did not set out an end game so that our allies and trading partners could help move expeditiously to resolving the disparity in tariffs thus creating free and fair trade. He sought uncertainty and uncertainty breeds delay in resolution since our partners are unclear on the resolution sought. Free and fair trade may still leave us with some real deficits with some countrys and some surpluses with others but it would strengthen us. The uncertainty, the delay in resloution has the amrkedts down. I am confident they will come back, but I wonder at the tolerance of Trump's supporters for bad economic news, even if it is only temporary. I am wondering about how bad is bad and what is perceived as temporary, or too long. As for you, well you seem to eschew nuance and to lash out at any criticism of a man who invites criticism. So be it. I weigh your opinions accordingly. -

I am not a Trump supporter. Never have been. As for what I am going to do that is meaningless. As for what the mob will howl, spurred on by an avarice press, who can say? I do believe that Trump needs constant approval and if he does not recieve that approval he will drastically pivot to try to obtain it. -

If I was still earning I would look at it as an opportunity to buy into the market at reasoanble prices. Being retired, and drawing money out of the market as it plummets means the eventual rebound will catch me a bit short. Still, I believe I have sufficvient reserves, but the question is not about you or I, the question has to do with headlines, a 24 hour news cycle, and tendancies to panic and generations brought up on instant gratification. Patience has never been in long supply and has been shortened over the years. patience for money loses, even if just on papaer may be even less. Tthere is, in my mind, some number which will engender panic. is that a number starting with 37? Is it 36, or 35? Who knows. -

At the Canadian border we simply need signs directing them to processing points where Tim Horton's will be catering all the poutine they care to eat and Molson's will be three for one. They will willingly congragate at the processing center, get drunk, pass out, and then can be loaded onto flatbeds and driven 50 miles from the border where they will be released into the wild after getting an ear tag. If they try a second time they will be treated like we do nuisance bears and will be put down, humanely. -

We need motion sensors on the border. When motion is detected the first response is to play the Smiley Lewis classic, I Hear you knocking. If the person gets closer they ought to be gassed with skunk spray and the same colored dye they use in loaded stacks of money at the bank, something that will mark them for a week or more and will sicken them and those they encounter. Drones capable of firing bean bag rounds should be launched and Brute squads dispatched If they keep approaching they should be shot from the drones. The Brute squad would then turn on the electric fence and arm their tasers. If they touch the fence the Brute Squad should taze them and then reach through the fence with their clubs and pummel the prostrate forms. We should then dispatch drone robots incorporated into the fence to drag the bodies back away from the range of the motion sensors on the fence. The only exception should be for females 18 to 23 who are size fours or less. Members of the Brute squad would be empowered to pass them through the fence at their sole discretion. They would then be processed at State sponsored Gentlemen's clubs around the country for potential continued presence based on their attractiveness. -
