It is a pleasant ridfe for an old guy like me. Likely i will see several antelope, a coyote or two, and several women in yoga pants out excercising their dogs. -

To me it seemed economically sound given the average cost of imprisonment, which is, of course massively different than annual subsidies for ilegals. how that comparison came to be debated is beyond me since it is comparing watermelons to raisins, but maybe I missed the point. (Certainly I ahve been known to miss a few points in my time.) Anyhow, off to ride around the reservior before the weather changes and snow moves in tonight. -

Sad to say i am unfamiliar with your State. One of the few I have not visited. My knowledge of it is from sports broadcasts, movies, and the Swamp People T.V. show. ('Choot 'em") -

https://posts.voronoiapp.com/maps/Between-US-States-There-is-Huge-Variance-in-Spending-per-Prisoner-1351 I do not vouch for the veracity of the link as i am unfamiliar with the source. That said it comports with my understanding of the matter from other sources I have read over the years. I did look at this issue maybe 15 years ago when the Geo Group had an issue with keeping a facility open in the jurisdiction for which I worked. Our legislators desired a white paper on costs of building and maintaining prisons and the cost disparity between public and private facilities. Given my now dated information on the subject matter i would guess the linked map is fairly close to accurate. -

When I don't post a link it is because I don't care for the conversation devolving into a discussion, as it always does, as to whether the link is a biased source. I figured the story to be prominent enough that folks could easily locate it from their own favorite source.

I just hope that any Senators and Congresspersons who travel to El Salvador for their T.V. grandstanding shots do not lose their passports and congressional I.D.'s while down there. That could amke getting back into this country difficult. -
Just as Trump was able to make his arguments, motions, and appeals for these offenses, she will as well. Now if convicted the reality is that some do go to jail, repeat offenders mostly, most, however, do not Nope, the DOJ can pursue this vigorously but it will take time. The DOJ can refuse any plea bargain, but if found guilty and going to sentencing that will be up to a Judge. Prior to sentencing she will say she was under stress. She may claim alcholism or a drug dependancy. She will suggest she recieve treatment, disgorge a punitive amount to some worthwhile charity, and relinguish her law license and the Court will likely be satisfied. Even though she can afford to lose a quarter ton of flesh the Court will likely be satisfied with only a pound of flesh. The DOJ may well win their case, ultimately, but sentencing will be in the ahnds of the Court. Just my take. I could well be wrong. I am not saying she should get off so lightly, just that I suspect she will. Also, as of now the details are still coming out so for all I know she may have a defense to the charges if not to the hypocrisy.

i have seen a few news stories about the all female passenger rocket shot. They all describe the passengers as the crew, as if they had responsibilites during the 11 minute flight. they were tourists, passengers, hardly a crew. Crew implies responsibilities. They had none, they were cargo, passengers looking for a memorable experience. It is being sold as some sort of "first" hardly.

Truely amazing. Still, just allegations at this time. Or reports of allegations. Who knows how it will develope, how it will be fleshed out in the end?

I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that Homan's footspeed over uneven ground is something less than average. -
I was subject to random testing. Additionally my work computer had a key stroke logger for random audits and my phone was subject to inspection. That said, certainly there are Prosecutors who are not squeaky clean.

Only on two matters. It is also intersting to me in that she prosecuted Trump under novel theories that the SOL could be extended. Also, if her primary residence is in Virginia, 500 miles from her Albany office there is a question of whether she is qualified to be N.Y.'s A.G. Now I suspect this will all get resolved without her losing office or going to jail. I just find it interesting in that she has apparently engaged in behavior highly analogous to that for which she prosecuted Trump.

Were I an attorney opposing the defamation suit I would note that Alex Jones was commenting to gain notoriety for financial gain which is different than government officials commenting on policy matters within their purview when being asked by an interested national press. When i stated I don't recall any analogous cases I meant cases specifically against government officals. -

It is fine with me if his family tries. All I will say about the E. Jean Carroll matter is that in the law there are always outlier cases, exceptional cases that come to have little or no precedential value. I suspect hers is one such case. The results of individual lawsuits, individual verdicts are not particularly precedential, appealate ruling s are more so, but even those on unusual or outlier caseddo not govern matterds. Still, a good thought by you. if an attorney was trying to make the case you are hoping to make thye may well trot out that case as an example in support of their suit. -

I have no reason to believe that 'facilitate" means "do everything we can". Had the Court meant "do everything within the Administration's power" they could easily have so said.
