House Minority leader calls for violence
Engorgeous George replied to RaiderHaters Revenge's topic in The Geek Club
Easy to call for violence when one is in the majority, but less so when one is in the minority and half one's membership are incapacitated by election trauma. This is a bold move. Let's see how it works out for him. -

So get Vin Diesel back into training, have him replace Cory Booker because who will know the difference, and have him eschew the woke stuff and espouse America first? It could worxk, maybe. -
Was Aqualung a somebody? I'm like Aqualung, only with less redeeming social qualities and worse hygiene.

Recent Quinnipiac poll shows Democrat Party with lowest approval rating ever recorded
Engorgeous George replied to Patented Phil's topic in The Geek Club
The best advertisement for the party currently out of power is the performance of the party in power. In my liketime i have heard the media decalre the death of the democratic parxty at least twice and the republican part maybe three times. So far it has not happened. Power breeds arrogance and corruption and carelessness in corruption. It allows idiots to fight over power amoungst themselves and to forget that they also need to fight for it with the out of power party. The Dems are certain to come roaring back. Likely not with their current cast of prominent characters, but they will be back. -

That would clearly happen if in the stroke of a magic wand all the illegals were taken away at once. They will not be. They will be taken away in crements. The process will take years if not a decade. Congress could use that time to pass and implement a guest worker program which would fill the voids. We would then have legal guest workers. Guest workers who are vetted against criminal behavior, immunized against infectious diseases, provided proper I.D., likely minimally insured for health care and for driving. They would be gladly welcomed by employers and by consumers. -

I get back to the Twin Cities occassionally. I was back in October to see Lamont Cranston at the Caboose. Unfortunately their 50 year run may be over, Pat hayes having suffered a stroke. Maybe i will make the drive next year for the Vikes v. Packers. If so the beers are on me. -
Best process/recipe to make an omelet?
Engorgeous George replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
I have a dedicated omelet pan. Just the right size to have the correct depth for a three egg omelet made with extra large grade A eggs. I know the proper heat sdetting on my stove to use that pan. I make certain the pan is fully prewarmed when I pour in the eggs. I do n ot use any milk or cream. I do whip the eggs maybe more than do most so they are fluffy with air when poured in. -

No, it is the truth. See society still then has the cost of their ilegality to bear elsewhere. You get your strawberries a buck cheaper per quart but the folks in New York, and Boston, and Chicago who are footing massive hotel bills, whose schools are overwhelmed and whose kids are getting a poor education because of that, whose park and rec facilities are not available to them, and whose kids are being exposed to illnesses thought eradicated and who are being raped and murdered, that is still a societal cost which is being paid, not by you, but by them, your neighbors. That you do not have the foresight or understanding to put that in the calculus does not mean it is not there. Don't talk about Capitalism 101 when you skipped the class. Back on ignore you go. Do your ignorant rants . Maybe revist the one about a president exercising enumerated powers being subject to impeachment therefore. Maybe lie again about your business experience running a company when you clearly have to ask permission to make a single expenditure. Maybe lie about what you pay illegals. -

An educated man. I like it. I also like the Gus McCrea quote about educated men. He said just once he would like the opportunity to shoot at an educated man. -

Those who want illegals to do work simply want to hide the true costs of goods and services. They want to push those costs off of their business to society as a whole. In the end, however, we all end up paying the costs. The question is whether we do so up front, and openly, or on the back end. It is no different than polluters. Businesses who for years dumped their effluviant into our air and rivers. We pretended there was no cost for that and we enjoyed our apparently cheaper cars and fertilizers and the businesses enjoyed their greater apparent profits. in the end, however, we still pay those costs through destroyed personal health, a degraded planet, and eventually through litigation costs for the misuse which drives up the curent costs of those products. We need aditional labor. Lets get it in vetted and if that means A bit higher present apparent costs lets pay it. paying up front always turns out cheaper than paying on the back end. -

I know why it is not enforced. Money, specifically campaign contributions.. If it were enforced businesses would stop hiring illegals. Businesses would then be short of employees for a limited amount of time. Those businesses would tell their politicians in no uncertain terms to stop dicking around and to immediately pass a responsibile guest worker program to repopulate those employees. Both sides of the political divide would have to do their job instead of keeping a red meat issue alive for them to use to manipulate voters. -

Enforce that law. If we don't want that law take it off the books. If it is on the books, enforce it. -

Knight's comment did not support rape, it simply suggested an ignorant coping stategy IF being raped. Also, he did not throw that chair At someone. He threw it unaimed, at no one, at everyone. -
I always had a problem with the parable of the prodigal son. I doubly have the problem when i beieve the prodigal son is not sincere but is only pretending to have come to the light since he sees the rewards of posturing that he has come to the light.

I generally respect your opinions, but in this instance I will pass.

So, as in all crashes we look for the black box, the DEI box. Why not a rainbow box? Black is so last generation. And frankly wouldn't a bright rainbow colored box be easier to spot in wreckage. -
I find it intereasting that he has won back your faith so quickly, and so easily. That is not to say you may not be right about him, but as for me, I believe he will say or do anything to try to feel relevant and for the rewards associated with a modicum of fame and cultural acceptance.

He just made it for me.

Could be. I don't trouble myself over trying to distinguish aliases. I simply learn soon enough to ignore them, no matter whose they may be based on their content. See, to me there are so many fools here of more or less the same stripe taht I don't really see the value of memorizing each individual stripe pattern. To me they are all zebras.

I support and highly approve of him raising issues. I grudginly admire the man for having hooked Cheryl Hines. I can see having the man as an advisor for his perspective, which I would ignore on many subjects. I cannot see appointing him to head that agency.

Quite a handle that fellow had. If somone would have asked me to identify the occupation of the person operating under that handle with no other clues as to their occupation I would have guessed he was a member of the Blue Man Group. -
Marvelously stupid take to blame the man who just took over before he has been able to fully implement his policies or to get his people in place. With millions of federal employees i might give him a month or two. The blame here, if there is blame, goes to the administration which has been in control. We are still coasting along in the momentum of their policies. That said, and having insulted you so you probably are not feeling kindly disposed to me at the moment or maybe not at all, it is good to see another kayaker on the site.
