Thank you. I only have the vaguest memory of Boner, and only becasue your link jogged my memory. I think I will take a moment or two to refresh my memory. Regardless, it is clear we both believe that Gaetz, like Lucy Ricardo, has got some 'splaining to do.

If this leads MDC to requiring me to get a background check before I can buy a 16 ounce claw hammer I am going to be pissed.

I am unaware of it having been done before on a member who has retirerd from the House prior to the release of the file. That I am unaware does not mean it has not been done, but only that I am unaware of it. Do you have a link. I would happily explore it to educate myself. Regardless, I think he ought to be prepared to answer some very probing questions. If the minority party wishes to confront him with witness stadtements, sworn affidavits from the lawyers for the accuseres I think that should occur. I want all concerned under oath and under the penalty of perjury and at risk for defamation suits.

I presume i am not clearing an urban area alone. I would want someone in my squad or on my team to be able to reach out and touch someone at distance. i like the Sako for that chambered in .338 Lapua. Others would certainly like .50 to at least deal with non armored vehicles. I was only speaking as to what I might want to carry, not what I would want those with me to have. My choice is now predicated on the fact that I am old and no longer confident I can hit something beyond 600 yards consistently. My eyesight is going and my hands are not steady anymore. I did take an antelope this year at 500 yards so i can still shoot a bit, but that antelope was not going to shoot back if I missed.

I do not think the House should set new precedent by releasing the investigatory file. I do believe Gaetz should be questioned about the major allegations at a confirmation hearing. He ought to be prepared for such questioning. I do believe he should not be a recess appointment. We need answers. Also, while I do not believe the top law enforcement officer in the country needs to be as pure and above reproach as ceasar's wife, I do believe he or she ought to be nearly so. The legitimacy of the Office in the eyes of the people needs to be maintained.

I might go with the MP 5 due to my familiarity with it. Alternatively I like the AA 12 shotgun. Regardless, for urban warfare i would not go with a rifle, a carbine maybe, but not a rifle.

I would argue that one should be able to possess all of the weaponry that an infantry soldier can carry or use. The intent of the second amendment was that the people could rise up against tyranical government and be equally armed against those government agents. Further, at the time of the adoption the Constitution also allowed for privateers to be granted letters of marque and reprisal. Basically we understood that ship of war could be in private hands and we not only tolerated that, but encouraged them, through the letters, to attack and capture enemy ship of war. Now I would agree that in our technological age the second amendment has become anachronistic, but you don't throw it away. If it has become anachronistic you amend or revoke it through the Constitutional process, not through nibbling away at it through legislation or court fiat.

For an infraction I voluntarily undertook I would expect nothing. That is the chance I took. for being wrongfully convicted had I not violated any law I would expect legal defense costs, lost wages, compensation for lost consortium with my spouse and lost parenting time with my children, and for general pain and suffering and perhaps exemplary damages as well. Legal Defense ....$50,000 Lost wages .....$800,000 Lost consortium ....say 600 times each valued above what Matt Gaetz was paying so say $1000 per time for a total of $600,000 Lost parenting opportunity .... well at least equal to lost consortium time so say another $600,000 General pain and suffering of confinement, bad food, boredom, poor and unsanitary living conditions, possibility of rape and beatings say $800,000 absent assault and rape and add in $50,000 per each assault and $1,000,000 for each rape. Me, I' pretty capable so may only assualted oncve and folks learn their lesson and no rapes so say a total, for me, of $850,000. Exempalary damages so it does not occur again to others, say another $1.000,000. Mayber a total of around $3,300,000. Though I would hold out for more. -

Sure. I am simply curious as to the toal amount of this restitution. To my memory some 1400 charges have been filed and some 500 convictions obtained were folks have served or are serving jail time. Also there has been probation and house arrest for some others. I am guessing once the subject of restitution is broached that each sentenced individual who served jail time will make a compelling argument that it was unpleasant and that the compensation should be substantial. I just want some picture of the total amount. Will it be millions, billions, tens of billions? -

Curious, what do you think would be resonable restitution? How much per case, or peer days served in jail? How much is that in total for all the convicted?Would we add back legal fees spent on defense as well? How much would that amount to? -
Trump has been found guilty, but until he is sentenced his trial is not yet complete and therefore he is technically not yet a convicted felon. It is a minor technicality in some ways, in others quite important since the judge can set aside the jury's verdict.

Maybe you should learn to revere the Constitution twice as much as you revere a statue presented to us by the French -
Whoopi Goldberg claims bakery refused her service over leftist views: 'They did not like my politics'

My favorite part is the woman sitting next to Whoopie who is stuffing her maw but then spits it out when she hears Whoopie allege the backery would not serve her. It occurs just 7 seconds into the video. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/what-is-a-charlotte-russe-cake/ar-AA1ucD5j?ocid=BingNewsSerp I imagine she has practice as a spitter. -
President Elect Trump. He has no current power to do anything unless you think an obese senior citizen should be standing guard as a vigilante on the border. Maybe he could be there wielding a seven iron, but frankly i do not see that steming the tide.

Did Trump demonize immigrants and refugees or the persons and parties who placed no limits on them and overwhelmed our systems? Did he demonize transgerndered folks or those who sought to place them in prominence before our impressionable youth? Perhaps it has to do with the connection of the demonized state to supporting realities. If there were some believable basis for the demonization perhaps it held and if not, then not. Perhaps it has to do with the frequency with which it occurs, sort of a boy who cried wolf scenario. Did the democrats go there once too often? What I have observed is those attempting to gain and grasp power, even when they believe they are doing so for altruistic reasons inevitably fail of their altruism and seduced by the power are corrupted by it. That they will be corrupted by it is presaged by the methods they use to obtain that power. Both sides demonizing the other is a warning to me that whichever side obtains power thereby is not to be trusted. I trust the new boss no more than the old one. Still, we soldier on avoiding the depths to which we might fall while never attaining the heights we might reach.

Some pesticides and many preservatives arose during antiquated shipping and store stocking paradigms. With new automation and computer routing as exemplified by Amazon and others it seems to me we don't need unrealistic shelf life on products. Store inventories can be trimmed and more frequent, but smaller shipping can keep food fresh. Certainly it is time to assess the pradigms of a business model badly in need of updating. Truth in labeling is also needed. Would most folks let their kids eat Poptarts if their label clearly stated the product is loaded with chemicals and additives contributing to sterility, obesity, heart desease, high blood pressure and the ghey.
