I never claimed I had forgiven Tim. I only stated I accepted his apology in lieu of payment, as I have.

Not in his mind, perhaps. Formal bets do not have their terms unilaterally changed by only one party to the bet. They are not then subject to outside judgments when only one party agrees to that judgment and claims they will withdraw from the bet if that judgment they sought is in their favor. When they lose that judgment on the changed parameters they sought, formal bets are paid off. The winner is not given payment ultimatums while being excoriated for having won and told payment will not be forthcoming if the ultimatums (additional conditions) are not met. Tim had a conditional, subjective, evolving terms bet. Not a formal one.

To me the election still appears to be the flip of a coin. Unfortunately for me, and my beliefs the only way I can win is if that coin lands on edge or disappears in the air.

Tim found himself in a bit of a conundrum when he tried to count his chickens before they were hatched. Now you make the same error. Perhaps it will work out better for you than it did for Tim.

In a possibly related story the Waste Management Company has endorsed Donald Trump. They say they have a history of working with deplorable garbage. Also, T-shirts.com states thier new Deplorable garbage T-shirt is a runaway best seller.

On our mail in ballots you have to fill in that damn circle completely with a black or blue pen. It is not as fast as "checking" a box.

Took me more than 30 minutes just to fill out my ballot. Federal, state, local races, judicial retention, a dozen or more ballot questions and initiatives.

Guy seems well for his age.

I am not rational about the safety of my wife, daughters and my grandkids. I may have acted precipitously in that situation. The thing is, I would likely have avoided putting a toddler in that situation. In fact I am sure I would have.

If I knew what was coming, of course I would not have stayed. The thing is, good people, peoploe who don't know what is coming but only suspect might want to stasy and fight that outcome. In my family we have one such example. My mother's father fled germany for America uopon the rise of Hitler. He saw what was coming. He had fought for Germany in the Great War but worked for the War Department here in America in WWII. My father's father was from a large family. He and his brothers were all born here in the U.S. Two immigrated back to Germany where we still had relatives back in 1912. One survived the Great War. He did not repatriate to America after and was a civilian killed in WWII. We all make our own choices on what is known to us about the world and based on our internal resources. Most who promise to leave upon a failed election lack internal rersources to reorder their lives. Their rage does not match their fortitude. They are an embarassment to themselves and to their family and friends.

Would I leave if i believed that, maybe. I have lived abroad in the past so doing so would not be terribly difficult for me and mine. I might, however, decide to stay and work against such a regime as my roots here are very deep.

Every election of my adult life which goes back to the 1970's, a bunch of dolts promise they will leave the country, generally for Canada, who by the way does not want dolts migrating to Canada. Never has a one kept their promise. This will be the same this year.

They may find that Mexico and Canada both have fairly strict immigration laws. They may find they cannot work or own their own homes. It is wierd how other countries enforce imigration. Those of a mind to leave, and I presume it is very few who would have the gumption to back up their words with deeds, would be those most unlikely to understand the concept of lawful immigration to another country. Some would be surpirsed at the difficulty or time necessary to move their money off shore. Many would be surprised at the difficulty of bringing their pets with them to a new country which would at least quarantined them if not deny them entry.
