I understand your point. New way of deciding who gets in. 1. Eye test 2. Injuries 3. Punish teams if players opt out of bowl games due to fear of risking injury affecting draft status. 4. TV ratings 5. Money. 6. Some made up committee. Don't worry about records, conference championship, rankings. Sound good?
-
I was. You said once they get beat we can move on. Alabama has a loss. FSU doesn't. That's as honest as it gets.
-
I don't care about FSU at all. None. I also said they'd probably get beat bad. So what? They earned the right to try. They can say something that only 2 other teams can say. They're undefeated and a conference champ. They earned it.
-
Good thing there's never a Cinderella team in sports. Or upsets.
-
But they're in????
-
So now we have injuries as a disqualifying way to keep teams out? .
-
I guess upsets never happen. Boise St would probably disagree.
-
If I was FSU AD and coaches. I'd play all 3rd stringers and walk-ons just for the bowl money. Fock em.
-
I still call it that . I like the sound of it better then CFP or whatever. I think everyone understands the point being made though . Maybe not.
-
That's exactly what it is!!
-
Like Alabama did?

But you understand this year. They could possibly have a P5 unbeaten conference champ win their bowl game and NOT be a national champ. That's unheard of. Look. The BCS set up the rules. The 3 big rules are this: 1. Be a P5 school. 2. Go unbeaten. 3. Win your conference FSU did all that and didn't get a shot at competing. They had the 11th SOS in the country. 10th toughest if you use Sagarin rankings. They were left out because of their QB situation. It's that simple. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/season-sos-by-other&ved=2ahUKEwjM-fyOy_aCAxUoAHkGHRzJBEEQFnoECBkQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2SEjcfj1rkXuK_kvXmErbw

This guy gets it

Yep. If I'm Michigan and Ohio State I'd change the schedule to play each other first game of the year. Again, since league champ means nothing, neither does going unbeaten, get that one loss out of the way. Then you have all season to move back up.
-
You can tell the SEC fans. If they were honest about this they'd say Ohio State belongs in over Texas and Alabama. Ohio State had the #1 SOS. Only loss is to #1 Michigan. Since conference champ means nothing, Ohio State should be in.
-
Then do away with rankings, conference championship games, and P5 conferences all together. Since they mean absolutely nothing. Then at the end of the year let a committee pick 4 random teams based off the eye test. No more qualifiers like W/l record. No need for a conference championship game. And most definitely no need for rankings.
-
Exactly. It's all money baby!!
-
No I won't. I think FSU, as I said earlier, would probably get beat bad in the BCS. But that doesn't take away from the fact they should've been in. Now we'll never know.
-
Let's say FSU beats Georgia. Michigan and Washington lose. FSU could be the only P5 unbeaten and conference champ in the country. Will they be the national champs? Nope. It's comical. Matter of fact, I hope this scenario happens.
-
Hindsight is always perfect. The ACC schedule was weaker, but FSU can't control that. Their non conference was the 4th toughest in the country. They are out because of their qb situation and nothing more.
-
Yep. FSU had a tougher non conference schedule then Alabama. I was being sarcastic about the schedule. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/non-conference-sos-by-other&ved=2ahUKEwjTmeDtovaCAxVQv4kEHWuYClAQFnoECA8QAQ&usg=AOvVaw1PptCVOxd8z6wLxsyn_iPB

I guess I didn't realize conference games were negotiable.
-
Exactly. Or Ohio State. It's a joke.
