  1. Do people predict Jahvid Best will play, or be significant factor, at all this season? If Smith continues to play well, I'd be inclined to think the Lions would be extra cautious with Best and his hx of concussions, and sit him for the rest of the season even if he's physically ready to play. I've got Best on my bench, but am tempted to drop him for a waiver claim on Kevin Smith.

Forecast for J. Best for rest of season

Wow. Just saw the news on F. Jackson. I was leaning in the direction of dropping Best for Kevin Smith, but I may be need to go with Spiller instead of Smith.

    Trade Value of Michael Vick?

Just wondering what is reasonable trade value of Mike Vick when looking to pick up RB or WR? I've got Vick, Stafford, and Newton in standard scoring league. I obviously don't need two top ten QB's on my bench each week, and I'd prefer to hang onto Stafford and Newton because they have increased value as keepers. So far I'm not having much luck trying to trade Vick and just wondering what people think would be reasonable value for him when looking for RB or WR. As much as I hate having 2 of these guys on my bench each week, I'd also like to get decent value for Vick in a trade and not give an opposing owner a steal of a deal.

    Trade Value of Michael Vick?

Even with the injury risk and Philly looking pretty poor so far, I'd like to think Vick is worth more than a WR2.

    Trade Value of Michael Vick?

Good point, Joey. It's a ten team league also which adds to nobody being real desperate at QB.
  6. I would like to use some imported projections for QB, RB, WR, and TE, but not for Kicker and Defense. When I do this, however, the projections for Kicker and Defense seem to get messed up even though there is no additional data. How do I fix this?

Only using imported projections for certain positions

Figured it out. Just need to readjust the default allocation key for the different positions.

    Print Cheatsheet on multiple pages

Sorry, I feel like I ask this every year, but can you remind me how to print the cheatsheet so the font is bigger. It's nice to have it all on one page, but my eyesight is now what it used to be. Thanks.

    Print Cheatsheet on multiple pages

Excel 2000 on desktop and 2003 on laptop. Thanks Mike. I need to play around with it a bit more, but the new version seems to run faster than in years past so I may end up just using my laptop during the draft, but I always like to have a printed cheatsheet in case of technical difficulties.

    Which one at #8 Pick?

I've got the #8 pick in 10 team non-ppr league. I anticipate C. Johnson, Peterson, Jones-Drew, and Ray Rice to be top picks. In the next 3 picks, I'm guessing some combination of Gore, Andre Johnson, Rodgers, Brees, Turner. I don't really want to take Rodgers or Brees at 8 if one is available and I'm not a big fan of SJax, D. Williams, Charles, Mendy in first round. I'm thinking that I probably go with Turner or Moss at #8 assuming Gore and Andre Johnson are gone at that point. What do you all think?

    Mike Bell or Donald Brown

Between Mike Bell and Donald Brown, who has the most value for the rest of the season. Bell is obviously benefitting currently from P Thomas's absence, while Donald Brown is still looking like a rookie but will probably be RBBC at minimum for the rest of the season. I have ulterior motives in asking this because I drafted Brown, but surprisingly Bell is still available on our waiver wire.
  12. I've got #1 pick in our 10 team league (non-ppr). We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex, TE, K, DEF. All TD's are worth 4 pts regardless of position. Because of the ability to start 3 RB's using flex, I will likely go with RB at 1.1 and 2.10. At 3.1, however, I am debating on picking up Manning, if available. My thinking is this: although he is unlikely to put up Brady/Brees numbers, he is likely to put up consistently excellent numbers week in and week out, has a very nice schedule this year (including playoff weeks), and seems very likely to be at least top 5 QB by end of year (barring injury of course). If I decide to pass on Manning, I'd likely take Roddy White/Steve Smith/Reggie Wayne, Colston at 3.1 and then wait till 6.10/7.1 or even 8.10/9.1 and grab a Schaub, McNabb, or Ryan. In this case, I'd probably grab a QB at 6.10/7.1 and then another QB at 8.10/9.1 or take 2 QB's back to back at 8.10/9.1 Although I never take a QB early, I like Manning for the reasons above, plus the ability to wait a bit longer on picking up a backup QB while increasing depth at RB/WR. What do you all think?

    Leinart as handcuff/flyer pick

Just wondering if Warner owners have also drafted Leinart as a handcuff to Warner or what people think about taking Leinart as a late round flyer if roster size limits allow (QB3). It seems like consensus opinion is that Warner puts up very respectable numbers this year, but big question mark is whether he stays healthy so Leinart seems like he'd be a pretty hot waiver wire pickup if Warner goes down. Opinions.

    Leinart as handcuff/flyer pick

Kind of interesting that Leinart doesn't even have an ADP in 14 team leagues, yet Michael Vick has an ADP of 11.05 per fantasyfootballcalculator.com.
  15. Can someone tell me how to print the offensive positions cheatsheet so it takes up multiple pages instead of fitting on just one? Although it's convenient to have it all on 1 page, the font is a bit small. I know I did this last year, but can't remember how I did it now. Thanks.

    Let's talk QB Draft Strategy

Great thread with lots of informed opinions. Although I am always at the end of the QB run in our 10 team league (usually taking the 6th to 10th QB off the board), I have found myself with the #1 pick and am questioning the "drafting a QB late" strategy. I anticipate Manning to be the 3rd QB taken (after Brady and Brees) and if Manning is available at the 2/3 turn, I am tempted to take him. According to SOS charts at Football Docs, he has the 5th best passing schedule during the regular season and the 2nd best during fantasy playoffs wks 14, 15, 16 (DEN, at JAX, NYJ). Couple that with his consistency and never having missed a game, he's quite tempting. Part of me is hoping that he is gone so I don't have to make that decision. The main reasons I would not pull the trigger on Manning (if available) at 2.10/3.1 would be I really like guys like Romo, McNabb, and Schaub who should be available at 4.10/5.1 and I'd probably need to take a WR1 with my other 2.10/3.1 pick, leaving me until 4.10/5.1 to grab my RB2 and RB3 or WR2. What do people see as pros and cons in this situation? It's a non-ppr league with 4 points for all TD's (regardless of position) and start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex, 1 TE, K, DEF. The flex position tends to elevate RB value which is again why I tend to load up on RB's before grabbing a QB. Value-wise, it often makes sense to take a 3rd RB before 2nd WR.

    Reliable Player Projection Resources

I've uploaded projections from Fantasy Sharks here: http://www.4shared.com/file/125638117/173e...rojections.html The file is a projection pal xls document so it should be all set to import to your compiler file. Last year, I also used Rotoworld projections and may use them again or try Football Docs. What other projections do people like to use? Feel free to upload your projection pal files so that users can share.
  18. I am using projections from multiple sites, but am only using multiple projections for certain positions (QB, RB, WR, possibly TE) either because the data is not available or I don't really need it for the other positions. In order to maintain proper rankings on the cheat sheet, should I just cut and paste the FFToday projections for Kicker and DEfense into Sites B and C where the data is missing or is there another way to do this?

    Fantasy Sharks projections

I created a Projection Pal document with the projections from Fantasy Sharks as of Aug 13. It includes data for QB, RB, WR, and TE. Link is below. I'll try to keep it updated. If anyone else wants to share projection pal docs they've created, feel free to add them here or create a new post. Any other recommended projection sites? Last year, I used FFToday and Rotoworld. http://www.4shared.com/file/125638117/173e...rojections.html
  20. I've got the #1 pick this year in my 10 team redraft leauge (non-ppr) and am trying to figure out my strategy. I'm not complaining about having the first pick, but I usually pick from somewhere in the middle so I'm looking for some advice. We award 4 pts per touchdown (regardless of position) and start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR, 1 flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 Def. Although FFtoday's projections give a slight edge to MJD with our league's scoring, I'm going with Peterson based upon schedule for first pick. End of second will be WR or RB, depending upon best value. I'm considering going for Manning in the 3rd round if available (or Brees/Brady if still there although doubtful as QB's tend to go early in our league). Although I usually wait much later to pick a QB, I'm thinking of grabbing one of these guys (if available) in the 3rd due to: QB's have a bit higher value in our league due to all TD's being 4 pts in our league (even for RB/WR/TE), QB's tend to go earlier than their ADP in our league, I really like Manning's schedule, and I like the idea of having an elite RB and elite QB who almost never have a bad week. With picking on the ends, I'm also hoping to be the one to start a position run rather than get caught at the end of one. BTW, FFToday's cheatsheet puts Brady at 17 overall, Brees at 19 overall, and Manning at 26 overall using our league's configurations. If Brady, Manning, and Brees are all gone at the beginning of the 3rd, I'll probably go for a RB/WR to end up with 2 RBs and 1 WR, and then pick up another RB and WR at the end of 4th/beginning of 5th to be at 3 RBs and 2 WRs. Depending upon how many and what QB's have come off the board, I may then grab a QB at the 6th/7th turn or possibly even two and look at having a QB by committee team. Any thoughts on this strategy would be appreciated.
  21. I have been dying at TE this season (having shuffled through Vernon Davis, John Carlson, Todd Heap), and there is little left on the WW. We're required to start a TE. I have good RB depth with Gore, Lynch, Forte, Thomas Jones, Felix Jones, and Dominic Rhodes (we start 2 RBs and 1 WR/RB flex), but I always go with 3 RB's. I have considered trying to trade Forte or Thomas Jones for Witten. What do you think? Other TE's that you'd target with a possible multiplayer trade?

Pick up DeSean Jackson or Eddie Royal?

Leaning toward Royal a bit more at this point because I think Philly will spread it around a bit more, plus hoping that double teams on Marshall will give Royal more room. And to be honest, I think other owners will be looking to grab Royal before DeSean Jackson because of Royal's monster game last night (he is #1 ranked WR free agent in our league currently) so I'm hoping to snatch him first.
  23. I don't have much depth at WR and am hoping to snag either DeSean Jackson or Eddie Royal off the wire. It's doubtful I'll get both, any may not get either after their big performances this week. Who would you rather have for the rest of the season?
  24. Anyone drafting team defenses based upon the schedule during the playoff weeks? I typically draft defenses quite late because it makes most sense to play the matchups, there are usually good WW pickups, and defenses can be difficult to predict before the season starts. Just wondering if anyone has targeted any particular team defenses based upon their schedule during your playoff weeks? If so, who are you looking at? I'll try to add some in the next day or so.
  25. I'd like to add some additional sound effects to Draft Buddy and perhaps delete some of the ones that are already there. In the past I've just added them to the sounds folder in my compiler directory and opened them in another media player application, but that means having more apps running/extra steps and I'd really like to have them accessible with just one click from within Buddy. I'm not an Excel guru, so I'm not sure how easy/difficult this is to do. Has anyone done this or know how to do it. Thanks. Also, I've got several wav files (sports anthem clips, movie clips) that I'd be happy to upload somewhere if others want to use them.
