    We were too high up. They just said to take cover under the big rocks.

    No, these were guys from Colorado who knew the trail to the top. They'd been up it before.

    Climbed Mt. Yale when I was 16 or so. Went with experienced climbers. Yep this did happen:

    Lightning there had killed some hikers just a week earlier, so you don't fock around with storms high up on mountains. There is nowhere to hide. 

    We hid under huge rocks. They were dressed for the cold. I was in shorts and was real close to hypothermia. It went from 70-80s to freezing in minutes. We never made it to the very top because of that storm. They said we didn't have time to get back down before it got dark. Saw the marmots playing in the snow near the top.
