    Julius Thomas, is he hurt?

CBS has this strange habit that send fantasy owners into an unnecessary panic and it's par for the course with their craptastic services and insight. If a player misses practice for whatever reason, albeit personal, or other, they slap that frigging red cross next to the players name. If you are worried about a player, go on to the local newspaper site - if the guy is hurt, they'll be sure to mention it.. Where do you think Rotoworld gets their news? The newspaper sites are golden. But I digress.. CBS Fantasy would be the suck.

    Lopsided Trade?

Bell, Ball or Powell..Best Waiver Wire pickup

+1 As well he shouldn't be.. I wasn't dropping him unless he was dead. That said he still might out-stat David Wilson.

    Lopsided Trade?

Just because a trade is not to your liking, doesn't make it unfair. Trading is all about perceived value and putting yourself out there.. Also analyzing the needs of the teams involved in the trade... You claim the guy getting Brady and Foster will run away with the league, why didn't anyone else approach the Brady / Foster owner? You are ready to vilify the guy when in fact he is being shrewd and selling high and buying low. You can't rest on your laurels, if you have a need - send out offers. The response might surprise you. Congrats to him. Leave it alone and go make a deal yourself that has the rest of the league talking.

    Bradshaw vs Trich

Dropping Bradshaw would be ridiculous, preposterous, ludicrous, regardless of the situation. The guy has value of course, talent, handcuff, solid contributor. Whoever said drop, I call major violation... LOL Fantasy owners are into instant gratification, unfortunately. But look for the Colts to trot out their new toy this weekend in all his first round glory. Giddyapp.

    Bradshaw vs Trich

That sounds nice, but what else were the Colts going to do? Richardson had literally a day to get himself acquainted with the offense, the playbook, blocking schemes, etc. They aren't going to have him out there for a full workload, have him miss a blocking assignment due to not being familiar with the protection schemes and get Luck killed. That would be counter productive. So you give the lions share of the work to Bradshaw, hope for the best, which is what they got thanks to the offensive balance with the threat of Luck to pass... I'll give props to AB, he looked great. I'd have a chip on my shoulder too. It is all speculation of course, none of us are in the Colts meetings, on the sidelines, or dinner guests with privileges at Chuck Pagano's house. But again, you don't give up a first round pick (uber valuable in the NFL.. I mean in season trades including first round picks happen so often..) for a "complimentary" back. T Rich will be the workhorse. Signed, Mrs. Richardson
  7. What was your plan going into the draft? Was it RB RB? Or did you go that way based on the advice of the "experts".. As I have mentioned in other posts, take the term "expert" with a boulder-sized grain of salt. The vast majority of your FF experts, are working stiffs with a forum to pontificate. If you strongly feel a certain way, run with it. Don't run with the guys from CBS, or the guys from the 100+ fantasy sites out there.. Yes, it is wonderful help in pushing you over to one side if youa re on the fence, but to go a certain way because John Blablah said so on fantasywhatever, com is silly. Because in most cases John is just like you with a forum. Doesn't make him an expert.

    Anyone gonna start Le'Veon Bell?

So you selected Foster where, in the mid to late 1st round? Early second round if your draft was early? Shake your tail feather with the girl you brought to the dance. Granted is is the Seahawks in week four, but I just can't see starting Bell for him. He is a relatively unknown commodity, coming off an injury, on a team that is a mess. Yes it is the Vikings, but.. What is your record? Williams ran for 86 in week one against the Seahawks Gore stunk in week two against them, but he's no Foster. And a hobbled MJD ran for 43 yards and a score last week.. Play Foster. Bell blows up - you are set for week 5.

    Bradshaw vs Trich

I would expect a lot more, working with a team that won't load the box on every down. Luck taking the snap is a lot more daunting for defenses than Weeden was in Cleveland. As far as Bradshaw? Good for him, fear can be a huge motivation factor.. That said, the Colts didn't surrender a #1 pick to have Richardson in a RBBC. With another week of study and practice in the system under his belt, the torch, at least to the tune of 70% - 30% will be passed to the younger, more talented TRich. But who the hell knows.. it sounds good, right??

Where Will Josh Gordon End Up?

Philly would be wonderful. FU Riley Cooper.

    T.Y. Hilton

And when Hey-Bey inevitably gets injured, Hilton will be glorious. The dude coughs and ruptures something.

    Rotoworld

I have been writing for various sites for the last 10+ years, and I remember when the on-line craze started (I come from the early days of FF when you tabulated scores and ran your league MANUALLY) Prior to writing myself, I thought the "experts" on line were GODS. Full of info, opinions of gold, beacons of usable fantasy information. (queue angels singing..) Not everyone of course, I thought Matt Pitzer was an idiot, as well as the clowns from CBS, in all their backwards ball cap wearing glory. Incidentally, I wrote the brass at CBS Fantasy a lengthy diatribe over how ridiculous they looked and how it shattered their already sketchy credibility.. next year they wore suits and ties.. But I digress... LOL I'll shamelessly take credit for the makeover, regardless of how influential my letter really was.. That said, they now just look better, and stink just the same. The pearls of wisdom still flowing.. (sense the sarcasm?) Moving on.. Since I have this English and Journalism degree I was wasting, I decided to reach out to some FF sites regarding content contribution.. . Not what I had in mind as I rolled down the aisle and accepted my diploma, but it at least scratched the proverbial creative itch and it was fun, so... 80% of what you read regarding this hobby is opinion based, period paragraph. Yes there is some statistical analysis involved, some common sense and some wit, but when it is all said and done it's opinion. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mean the stud players - crap, just get them in there and be done with it. But with the flex position, or WR3, or the like, it's opinion. Ask six experts - you'll likely get six different answers, Hell, I can do that myself, without genuflecting at the feet of some so called guru who in reality is a working schlub like me with the forum to vent and express his opinion. I take most of it as entertainment, and with a grain of salt... Rotoworld? Love the news, just like I did with FFMastermind's Quick Bits (until they decided to charge for it) and your Hot Off The Wire on KFFL which in my opinion (there's that word again) has been usurped by Rotoworld in terms of news. I have a headache.
  13. Due to injuries and what not, I am close to being cornered into starting the newest Cleveland Brown, Willis Andrew McGahee. Ben Tate is my other option as I wait for LeVeon Bell and Steven Jackson to recover from injury.. to team up with Chris Johnson this week. To McGahee's defense, he is healthy (for now).. is relatively familar with Rob Chudzinski from his time in Miami.. and obviously the best option they have at RB. And the Vikings line is a little banged up so the chance for 15-18 snaps and some production could be there.. Hell, Jacobs wasn't exctly in "football shape" and got the rock within 48 hours of getting signed... And scored. I figure if the G-Men weren't enamoured with the fact that Brandon Jacobs is an ex-Giant who knows the offense, McGahee would have been signed in New York... Am I making a case for myself to start McGahee?
  14. Woble Eth

What did people pay for McGahee?

I paid roughly 35% of my stash for him.. But I am strapped at RB with injuries and he's going to be a #1... So situation dictated my lunacy. Worse yet, I have to start him. Good times.
  15. Not so sure.. But hence my dilemma. LOL
  16. Woble Eth

    I'm starting DeAndre Hopkins over...

TY Hilton in one league and Emmanuel Sanders in another. (still himming and hawing over the latter...)
  17. So I have Julius Thomas, but Dwayne Allen is KAPLOOEY. 12 team league and the TE's are slim to none on the wire. While I have time before Denver's bye, the slimness of the position makes me want to grab and stash. Here is the cornucopia of tight end wonderfulness: B Pettigrew D Walker J Reed Z Ertz (mildly intriguing) A Fasano S Chandler blah. What say you?
  18. So, I have the following at RB: CJohnson, SJackson, Ben Tate, LeVeon Bell and Bryce Brown.. And the following at WR: Bowe, Cruz, Sanders and Jennings... At the expense of no one listed, would you add Jason Snelling or Marlon Brown???
  19. Woble Eth

    Josh Gordon

And if Johnson were to miss any time, Hopkins would fit in just swell, no? I am actually dropping Chris Givens for Hopkins and I have Gordon (drafted) as well. Why Givens? Even as a #2, if Johnson isn't out for an extended period of time, you know Hopkins in the #2.. Givens is one of three. If Johnson is out for an extended period of time and Hopkins becomes the #1? Kid has skills - if everyone went gaga over Marlon Brown as a #2...

    Brandon Jacobs

+1 Weighed in at over 265 lbs. The hot dog vendor at the stadium is rejoicing. He struggled to stay on the field when he was in shape. This is a motivating move, to get a struggling fumble prone youngster with a wealth of talent in order to try to fix the problem. (running to wire to grab Jacobs...) not really.
  21. Woble Eth

    Us Wilson owners are

Why is this worse for Wilson? Just curious.. Sure, Jacobs know the offense.. but he also knows how to eat, as he is out of football shape (actually he is in the shape of a football.. hiyoooo). When he was in football shape, he struggled to stay on the field with a myriad of injuries. Why would it all of a sudden change? The Giants need a body, and one that actually knows the offense made the decision to sign him easier. He is a veteran whose presence alone could light a fire under Wilson. Who knows. I am actually starting Wilson against Denver this week. He has a lot to prove. Coughlin is a hardass, but when it is all said and done, Wilson is his best and they'll get under the hood and fix it. Sincerely, Mrs. Wilson. Seriously, he'll be fine - hell, it's only one week.
  22. Whazzup, gents. So we get $100 of "funny money" of which we can bid on free agents via a blind auction. Since Julius Thomas is the WW Dujour this week, and my TE's are horrendous, what would you bid of that $100 for him? I would have to assume your garden variety $5 or $12 bid won't do it. He'll obviously get some attention... If I don't get him, I'll live - I actually like Dallas Clark in the Ravens offense a lot as well. And I can probably get him for far less. Probably in that $12 range if not less. Thoughts? Anyone else use this method of FA acquisition?
  23. +1 And I started this back when Marino was my starter and we tabulated scores by using the USA Today. Just have fun.
  24. Been a long time, wise acre.. LOL Hope you are well.
