Dude thinks they wouldn't immediately raise state tax rate to higher than the federal level, and wouldn't California still enjoy the benefits of the US having the strongest military in the world? He really has no idea who these people are.

They put another unqualified person in charge of the Tomahawk missile program. Not only is that currently a disaster, but the real world ramification of it is we're probably not going to have upgraded tomahawks due to significant delays. One DEI hire set back one of the most important military capabilities we have in this country years.

They put a woman of color in charge of the department I'm currently in about 10 years ago. She would only hire women as leaders. And this is engineering where 75% of the workforce is male. Well, the result of that was all the qualified men found other jobs since they saw there was no avenue for advancement. The business tanked because of brain drain, and she personally had a hand in us losing market share of our biggest products by essentially having us submit flawed proposals. She got ran off as profit went in the tank, and we're still trying to recover from the damage she did and she hasn't even been around for 7 years. One of our first DEI initiatives... Before it was called DEI.

Doesn't digby live in North Carolina or something? -
She opened up FEMA to serious litigation through her actions. I'm surprised she wasn't terminated within 15 minutes of her actions coming to light.

Sad part is I wasn't 100% sure if it was a parody until he start d talking about having to watch from the lonely closet. Up until then, I was thinking, "I could see thegeneral up there doing that" -
Also, do yourselves a favor and familiarize yourself with brinkmanship and how it's been used throughout history. It's his favorite tool, and he's actually pretty good at it. I kept bringing this up 4 years ago and it fell on deaf ears. Guess what... It's time for round 2. If you're passive, you won't like it and will probably spend 4 years shìtting your pants.
-
Agree that the bluster part. He put tariffs on a whole slew of Chinese goods last time he was in charge. I don't know why everyone is peeing their pants this time around.
-
I've been very ready for it. I've been calling for it for 15 years. But again... Know that trump uses brinkmanship. You're used to the passive policies of past administrations. Trump doesn't work that way.

What the hell? Why do we need to solve the poverty problems of every other country? The solution is don't come here. Why would you take on everyone else's problems with no return on investment? How about this? You want us to fix your country's poverty problems? How about we get some considerations in the form of resources or land? Why do lefties think our government and tax dollars are the world's charity fund?

His favorite move is to say he agrees it's bad, and then spends a week arguing minutia to make it seem not so bad. Really weird. I can't tell if he just doesn't realize how biased he is or if he's just purposely misleading to try and hide his bias. My guess is he just doesn't realize it.

Poor naive Tim. You don't realize people are taking multiple jobs and then taking advantage of work from home to claim they're doing all of them? I had a guy on my team doing it. It took him forever to do anything, and he charged my program full-time while he had another full-time job at another company. I brought it up to HR and they didn't even do anything about it. Meanwhile all I could do was kick him off my program to let him steal from some other contract. A large percentage of people are absolute shìtbags.

What lefties like squistion don't realize is counter to the narrative that's been shoved down our throats, prejudice is not a unique trait of white people. That's why I find these power grabs from groups like BLM so amusing. The narrative is that if only non-whities were in charge, everything would be utopia, but the second any group gets any sort of authority, they seem to immediately be biased and prejudiced and corrupt just like the crackers.
-
No one said it was a FEMA policy. And it absolutely is a story, ma'am. I get you're following the playbook of 1. It didn't happen 2. It's not wide spread 3. It doesn't matter anyway But this is pretty messed up and needs to be highlighted.
-
So you were wrong as usual. It did happen. Still not sure why people who are always wrong need to insert themselves in every convo.
-
The chick that has no doubts trump will install himself as dictator thinks it's impossible some FEMA mopes in an uncontrolled environment let their biases effect their job performance.
-
Just repurpose the 30,000 IRS employees Biden hired to make sure the 800 billionaires in the US and not lower class folks paid their fair share to round up illegals.

I haven't had New Orleans Popeyes in probably 15 years, but I will say California Popeyes pales in comparison to what I remember from the New Orleans area Popeyes. But I wasn't eating at the mothership. I bet they corporatized even the New Orleans area Popeyes by now. -

Sides by tastiness... Leaving out biscuits because those are obviously the best thing in the world. Red beans - if done right. Hit or miss on the location and typically gets worse over time probably because they don't clean/maintain the gear properly Mac & Cheese - they didn't have this one back in the glory days of the 3 piece platter but it's good. They seem to be smart enough to always give you some of the browned cheese on top too which is a bonus. Mashed potatoes - the potatoes are obviously the boxed kind, but that gravy is the shìt Cajun fries - sometimes I get the fries just so I can eat them while I'm driving. The batter makes them legit. Although to be honest, Rally's does the Cajun batter better than Popeye's. Coleslaw - one of the best coleslaws around and I'm not a big coleslaw guy. Also taking a penalty here for approaching something resembling a green vegetable. Cajun rice - at a new store this is a pretty good side. The trick is, it has to stay moist, but after awhile, it seems like they just refrigerate the leftovers from the day before or something and it ends up coming out dry. They had jambalaya for a bit in my area as I recall, but it suffered from the same problems as the Cajun rice where by the time they served, it was too dry. It also needed more kick. Too bland for jambalaya and especially bland for Popeyes. Plus they needed a bit more chicken in it. -
Also on the tariff stuff. China likes to subsidize their exports. In other words, in some cases they pay for part of the cost of the goods sold to get the industry floated. China will not allow their GDP to shrink. It's a game of chicken. China regularly steals US intellectual property. China regularly imposes unfair business practices on foreign businesses. What they do is they force any country that wants to sell foreign goods in China to make huge investments in China or force them to be partially owned by China. Then the Chinese steal all of the IP and create a knock off version of the product. The DoD doesn't even let us source parts from China because they are wrought with counterfeits and are shady as hell. It's worth getting into a staring contest with China over this. The trade relationship is completely one sided and will help China eventually eat our lunch. We need chip manufacturers onshore and we need to stop letting China take advantage of us like we're some pitiful helpless giant and they're not a threat to us. Tariffs are a tool to help renegotiate their shìtty trade deals that they cheat on constantly anyway.

Elon cares about Elon, and having Trump in his pocket benefits Elon. Also he'll probably get some special exemption for tariffs since he got Trump elected.

I've been holding Jonathon Brooks on my IR all season thinking Chuba wouldn't do much and Brooks would take over mid season. Not only did Brooks take his sweet time getting back, but Chuba has been putting together a pro bowl season in a contract year so now Brooks redraft value is pretty low.

What is strategy when you get Chase’d on a Thursday night?

You have to embrace variance. Guys like Alec Pierce that score 1.4 points or 20 points become more attractive as options. Guys like Josh Palmer that score between 7 and 12 points aren't going to help you. Understand that you're probably going to lose either way, and just play all the boom or bust guys if on average they score about the same as the consistent, low ceiling guys. -
The real problem with government cleanup is that government workers on average are pretty unmotivated and not overly intelligent. Elon is used to working with highly motivated, highly intelligent leaders. He ain't going to find those in government jobs.
