just make sure he knows the news about Burrow. this affects him more than the rest of us. for a fair draft we want him to have full disclosure on this. -

I've nearly always gone strong on the RB in the past. Last draft I committed to taking the top WR on the board if he fell to me and I did. didnt work out for me but if my guy (Kupp) had stayed healthy I would have finished in the top 3 or 4 I suspect. so not a terrible result -
Thats not true. He did it yesterday. but then got an infection by means of a papercut when he signed his contract. really bad luck for this guy.....

I do think the Denver Offense will be better. I think the defense was already pretty solid. but a better performing offense will actually help the defense just because the defense will spend less time on the field. either way, I fully agree the offense will be better. not keen on paying for a guy in his first year back from an ACL injury. in the july mock he was drafted in the low end RB3 territory which I think is appropriate given his injury. in Dynasty or keeper league format if I was a rebuilding team, I'd be picking him up. no doubt about that.
-
agree on Perine. only reason people are drafting him is because Javonte is coming back from an ACL injury. Sadly Javonte wont be himself until the second half of the year at the earliest. More likely hes a good pick next year. I love the talent. with the injury I do think hes still better than Perine, but not by enough. This is a backfield you likely want to avoid this year unless you are getting these guys on the cheap.

I was wondering how much coaching played into this. Either way, I still like them more than Howell. And I do still think if Jones plays badly Zappe will get his shot. and I still prefer Pickett. I didnt get to watch as many Pats games this last year as I would have liked so my sample size may be too small. the one game I watched he had just come back from injury and admittedly wasnt that good. But that sometimes will happen when returning from injury. The other game I saw he was ok. not spectacular but decent. I know late in his rookie year there were a couple of serious bad weather games that affected Jones stats too. I'm not sure I'd use those as an indicator. I think the one game he only threw like 3 or 4 passes the whole game which had serious wind and rain I think. But playing in bad weather is arguably part of the equasion when playing in New England. it plays a role every year. either way, to me it doesnt matter. my keeper league QB's are all set and hes not a part of that. hes still not in a teir of QB's where you would start him in fantasy. At best hes a quality backup unless he steps up his game.

Nice pick Iceman. I debated back and forth about whether to take Kamara. I needed a WR more than I needed another RB and thats what drove my decision not to take him. but I feel he provides very good value even if he gets suspended (unless of course its a full season suspension but I dont honestly see that happening) -

Lockett is a decent pick. might have even been the guy I would have taken if he had fallen to me. As he didnt, I took Brandon Cooks who has recently been able to produce reasonably well even with bad QB (with the exception of last year when his QB was beyond bad) With a reasonable QB (Dak) tossing the ball and CeeDee taking all the double coverage I think he has himself a real nice year. I love the potential. As such, I'm buying. -
7.07 - WR Brandon Cooks, DAL

I think it was a reasonable pick. this is the part of the draft where he should be taken. all the options at this point in the draft have something that made them fall to this point. either injury, pending suspension, or the fact they are not actually a starter. -
to add to this, if he had shown to camp looking healthy I think he would have been drafted by now

despite what everyone says, I do not think Hopkins is finished. PFF's analysis says he still gets open on a sick percentage of all routes he runs. he had a bad season by his standards, but also had a backup QB for most of his games played and he still produced at a decent level. Tanehill is better than Colt McCoy or whoever they rolled out so I still see a bounceback. The days of 1700 yards receiving may be over but I still see WR1 numbers for him. according to draft boards I took him maybe a round early but I didnt want to take the chance he doesnt return back to me. if he does what I think he will do I do think hes still better than everyone on the board at WR. -

Didn't the Giants offer Barkley $13M a year for the first two years of a new contract?

agreed. hes made enough money to last a lifetime so long as he doesnt do anything excessively stupid. -

He ended up with a pretty sweet team, but I didnt do this because of his result. I actually had good reason to go this direction. Jacobs (my #2 RB) might hold out and the number of good backs remaining is small and the fact we play a flex meant I could go RB and if Jacobs plays I have a really good flex. if he doesnt I still have a solid second RB. if I didnt have Jacobs I may not have gone with this strategy. -

I think you are right. I did think about holding off on my Josh Allen PIck to try to get Herbert here (pick after yours) I suspect that would not have worked. I then grabbed another RB. because I can flex him out and play 3 RB's and because I got Jacobs(who could hold out) I felt the need to get another RB. Walker was one of the two remaining RB's on the board who I liked that dont have health or off field issues so I decided to go for it. I realize this means I wont be deep at WR but from this point on, the dropoff isnt all that large for WR anyways so I am hoping I can fill those positions with reasonable players who have some upside.
