Egbuka to the Bucs. I didnt think WR was their largest need.....
-
for sure. you look at all the playoff teams. all but a couple seem to dominate play on the line. this is truly where its at. I know the giants need o line help, but they also need D line help so I dont mind their pick so much. Though arguably you could say they need help everywhere and you wouldnt be wrong lol
-
I'm glad to see lots of the teams needing O line help are wising up and taking O line guys.
-
probably.

I'm with you. I'll watch a game here or there, but most of my college football viewing is evaluating tape posted on fftoday when trying to evaluate rookie QB for my keeper draft. Admittedly I dont usually go after rookie QB but it does happen on occasion if the price is right.

you think he goes that high? I think the best case scenario is a Dak Prescott type player. good enough to get you to the playoffs, not good enough to win a superbowl unless the team around him is superb. and there isnt even a guarantee that he achieves the best case scenario. Dak has holes in his game. he was drafted in the 4th round because of those holes in his game, but landed in the perfect offense that is able to hide/cover most of his flaws as a player. Granted I thought at the time the cowboys got a steal in round 4. I felt at the time he should have been drafted in round 2-3 but we are splitting hairs with respect to QB value. the bottom line is he was not a first round pick. my thought is that this kid throws a bit better but doesnt run as well as dak did at this point in his career. He probably should be drafted early 2nd or late first round. I think the only reason we are talking about early round 1 is because we have a weak draft class. Hes a player who has a decent chance to develop into a good pro QB but I dont think his ceiling is high enough to warrant a top 8 pick. Certainly not top 3. but as we all know, all it takes is for one team to love him and that's enough. if that team is New Orleans so be it. Personally if it was me I'd see if he slides in the draft. right now if the titans, browns and Giants pass I think there is a 50% chance they can get him at #9. only team likely to take him after that is the Raiders at 6. But they have a QB now so maybe they wait. the biggest threat is that the browns or the giants trade back a few spots and then take him there. I'd say the odds of that happening is greater than the odds of the Raiders taking him at 6. I could, of course be wrong. but the most QB needy teams are picking top 3. problem is.... the cost to trade into the top 3 if you are sitting at #9 like the saints is probably way too high.

I'm not saying hes a hit. for me it actually depends on where he lands and how they build out the offense around him. I think a good coach/organization can make it work. a subpar coach/organization probably wont.
-
good observation. I agree. barring a trade up (or going off the board in round 1) I dont see it happening. but stranger things have happened. If they like him enough, I suppose all options are on the table.

no I meant on the roster Isnt JJ McCarthy a first round pick?
-
well, he is running out of time and choices. he needs to decide soon. Im a bit surprised the vikings are in this. dont they have a young QB they like a lot?

I thought fftoday was pretty good for that. have you clicked on the film clips that go with the scouting report each year? This is one of the only places you can get that. it was one of the reasons I first started coming here. at that time my thought was 'this is great!!! I dont have to go all over the place looking for film on prospects I plan to draft in my dynasty league. fftoday provides their own scouting report. (which is nice) but usually what I do is I look at the film then I look at their scouting report to compare with my own notes. the reason I do it in that order is because if I see the report, then I view the film I'm basically looking for the features mentioned in the report. so to avoid confirmation bias, I do my own analysis first. then I compare my analysis to that of fftoday (and any other scouting reports I happen to find) based on that (and end results) I actually now am at a point where i have a good idea what reports are more likely to be correct and what reports are not. sometimes we all do make mistakes. this time last year I ended up picking Caleb Williams over Jayden Daniels even though I liked Jayden daniels scouting report better(see notes under Jayden daniels, I believe I said as much in my own comments online). I did this because Caleb had better WR and the perception at the time was that Chicago had a better line. The reality is Chicagos line took a step backward and the line in Washington took a step forward. As a result, Daniels performed earlier in his career than I had predicted. I thought Caleb was in the better situation, but I was wrong, and Jayden blossomed as a player while Caleb struggled. either way, the film in this case was a good predictor. I ignored my analysis (to some degree) because I thought Caleb was in the better situation. and that is my bad.

speculation. mine too. I think that Rodgers thinks a better offer will come as hes not fully happy playing in Pittsburgh. you think he really wants to retire. while the end result may end up being the same, the bottom line is how this plays out may be difficult to predict. in some respects it feels like Rodgers doesnt want to sign in a city where he would be expected to be a mentor to his eventual replacement. but it could just simply be that he doesnt love Pittsburgh and doesnt want to be a game manager.
-
I think that he still thinks hes good enough that he can pick and choose where he goes. this is all about ego
-
I can see why he doesnt want to sign in Pittsburgh. they run a pretty conservative offense there. My guess is he is not fond of playing that way. but hes at a point where he does not have a lot of options left unless he wants to leave some money on the table.
-
Do the Saints have the cap space. Last I saw they were in cap jail and at the time they signed Carr I was surprised they found the cash to THAT. Not sure how they'd be able to find cash to pay Rodgers now. granted lots of things can change in a year or two so maybe I'm out to lunch on this but this feels like an unlikely destination.

2025 NFL Draft Profile - RB Quinshon Judkins
Ray_T replied to Mike FF Today's topic in FFToday Board
I like the scouting report. I know blocking/blitz pickup is a bit of an issue, but hes a decent size back. so I'm hopeful he can get coached up on that (though admittedly it may take a while) with a smaller back that sort of thing is more of a concern as you need better technique to get the job done that way as a smaller back. -
wow awesome. great customer service. My request on the friday. response before monday morning! thanks! almost makes me feel like I have some pull and/or influence here lol (though in reality, you probably were putting it out today anyway) cheers man and thanks!
-
agreed. They even put a few jokes in there for the adults. kids didnt get it but thats usually part of what makes those little bits of humor precious.
-
I'd agree. kid isnt a finished product. dont get me wrong. I really like him. but given where he is at with his development he should not be going in the top 10. There is more risk there than you want to have in a high first round pick.

I think its mostly media speculation to be honest. guys posting crazy rumours to get clicks online. but if people click on those they will continue to publish more related stories. The people who post these crazy rumours really dont care how true they are. They only care that you and I click on the stupid article. obviously enough people care about the story otherwise the articles would go away for lack of clicks. I'm not in any way saying the story is likely to happen. I'd say at best its a long shot. when you see an article like this with no named sources I consider the article to be (largely) a made up rumour. I dont deny, at times where there is smoke there is fire. But I'm skeptical that this story is likely to happen.

I dont know about that. Whoever takes him will need to give him a redshirt year from the sound of it. lots of things to clean up in his play and throwing motion. I do think the tools are there in the toolbox. but you gotta fix these issues before throwing him out there. I did like the observation that his deep ball accuracy isnt as good if he has to throw off his back foot or roll to his left. I actually noticed the same feature in superbowl winning QB Hurts the first time he played the chiefs in the superbowl. They forced him to roll to his left that whole game and the eagles lost that one..... but that was not an issue the most recent superbowl because the presence of Barkley in the backfield prevented the chiefs from playing the same strategy(for the most part) either way, I feel the best course of action would be a redshirt year to clean up all that stuff. Usually when that is the case, the QB doesnt go in the first half of round 1. its later in round 1 or early round 2. So I dont think they need to pay to move up and get him. I could be wrong. but thats my thought on that matter.

when is the next biased mock draft coming out at fftoday?
-
yeah. Stafford doesnt have much tread left on the tire (so to speak) He could then sit for a year, watch, and learn. I dont mind Pittsburgh. they are a borderline playoff team though their O line didnt perform exceptionally well last year (partly due to injuries) but I think the issues there can be fixed.
-
Thats what I'd be saying if I were him too. the teams that are at the bottom (and have been so for a while) tend to make the same mistakes over and over and actually ruin more young QB's than they develop. often this is a function of thinking they just need to get the QB some good receivers to throw to and O line is an afterthought. I think for him to be successful he needs to not land with one of those teams.
