3 weeks is not exactly a large sample size. there are a lot of mediocre players where at one point in the season you can take a 3 week sample and say hes consistent. you need to look at a full season (two if you can) there are times when you toss that out of the window, but his consistency has been erratic because his usage by his team has been inconsistent. (at least that is part of the problem) and if the team isnt providing consistent touches, its hard to project big things from week to week. until I see that level out hes a spot start for me. Granted I have Kittle, so I dont see many situations where I would start him ahead of Kittle (at least not when Kittle is healthy) but hey you can do things how you like. and I have found that sometimes you need to pickup a player before his reps and production become consistent. because thats when you get him on the cheap. if you wait for the breakout, you are paying considerably more to get that same player. but starting him ahead of a consistent TE can be a dicey proposition still. no doubt his upside is better than most but his floor is lower than most due to that inconsistent usage we have seen the last couple years. This does not mean I dont like him. but the bottom line is I dont like the way his numbers yo yo up and down. so there are certain situations where I wouldnt start him. thats my choice. I fully admit that.

    Saquan for MVP

well, the eagles and the Ravens are both smart teams. they will want their starting RB rested for the playoffs. It would not surprise me if they limit the touches in garbage time or sit the player for a game to rest him late. that makes it a little tougher for a RB to stay in the MVP conversation. even though I'd love to see this.

I think he means in terms of consistency. Thats really the only thing this guy is lacking. if he can consistently perform at a high level he'd for sure be a TE1. but those goose eggs ca n be a tough pill to swallow if hes your TE1. That is why I have him as a top end TE2. in a deeper league where you may have 2 TE's in your lineup, hes likely a must get player.

UPDATE: Daniel Jones Headed to Minnesota

of course they are. The last time this franchise was considered well run Eli Manning was still playing.

they have been saying this for a couple years at least. but I dont deny there is a lot of potential if they can unlock it. Dude has some skills. for now, I'd say hes one of the best (if not THE best) TE2 in fantasy football. Not sure I'd wanna count on him week in and week out but the nice thing about him is if you have a bad fantasy matchup for your fantasy team(where u expect to lose) you can plug him in because of his high ceiling. if you get the downside result..... no change. but if you get the upside result, maybe you got a chance.

    Saquan for MVP

I did mine. and I wasnt buying. I have zero shares of the guy. but got Sequon and King Henry in a few leagues where I was able to get them. Pretty happy with that result.

    Saquan for MVP

well, not always, but I always tell people, its better to win or lose with YOUR guys. picking a player because someone else rated him high isnt necessarily a reason to take them, but if you have done your research and you have some breakout candidates you like, you should go out and get them. dont let that research go to waste.

I know someone who bet on him to win MVP in pre season. wasnt a large bet, but vegas has already offered a reasonably decent payout to walk from the wager.

yeah, hes a boom or bust TE2. if you have your #1 TE on a bye or if you have an injury, hes ok to plug in. might help, might not. but at least he helps some of the time.

Nabers with DeVito at the helm

Well, Devito has a reputation of being good in the short passing game (or you can call him a dink and dunk QB) he will not throw a lot of deep balls, so this will negate some of Nabers value for sure. I think under Devito Nabers is still startable but hes no longer a WR1. hes likely a low to mid range WR2 with a handful of games in the WR3/flex territory on bad matchups.

UPDATE: Daniel Jones Headed to Minnesota

well, he will have some choices to make. I dont know that Vegas as an organization is any better than the Giants, but he will likely get a chance to play if he goes there. personally if I were him I'd pick an organization that has a history of being well run. because they would put him in a position where hes more likely to succeed. even if he has to be the backup QB for a while, that may be a better fit. going from one poorly run team to another poorly run team doesnt likely help.

UPDATE: Daniel Jones Headed to Minnesota

I'd agree. this is more financial than anything. I dont think Devito is any better than jones, but he is cheaper, and if paying Jones to sit on your bench, you might as well send him home or give him his release. There may be other QB needy teams willing to give him a shot. so this works for Jones too

    Joe Douglas Fired

I think the team got a bit unlucky too. it felt like they had a tougher than average schedule. so a bit of bad luck played a role too along with some narrow defeats
  14. I can respect that. There is something to be said about drafting a 'set it and forget it' type player who is fairly consistent in their scoring from week to week and who has a good floor value from week to week.
  15. well, Downs is better than him straight up. Though some of the other names on here I'd consider. problem with Cooper.... hes a WR2 but a very inconsistent one. hes boom or bust almost every week. you can project him for 65 yards almost every week and could be 30-50 yards high or 30-50 yards low quite easily. Thats what makes him frustrating to have. you will start him and he will stink the joint out. then next week you bench him and he will get 25 fantasy points while sitting on your bench.

MNF Discussion: Dolphins at Rams - Week 10

extra points should be automatic. if you miss one, you should be penalized -1. I dont know about missed FG. I suppose if the FG is the 30 yards or less then yeah penalize for a miss.

UPDATE: Daniel Jones Headed to Minnesota

either way, I think it has reached a point where both parties should be happy for a divorce. I think Jones may be better in another organization but I also think the Giants need to give themselves a good look. They did not do a good job of putting their young QB in a position to succeed. Putting him behind a leaky line. at times I'd say this was the worst line in the league. the learning curve when you go pro is pretty steep. giving your QB another problem to worry about (leaky line) is generally bad for the development of the player. I acknowledge Danny Dimes needs to take some responsibility but I'd say the Giants did a piss poor job of supporting him too. I'd say they likely ruined him as a prospect and as a player with the way they handled his development. personally I lay this at the feet of the GM. I would say it all begins and ends there. it is the job of the GM to get the personell needed to be successful and the right personell was not there.

    Trevor Lawrence (done?)

Tua was priced based on last years stats. but people I think forgot to add the risk premium for the possibility he has another concussion (which he did) I get it.... people look at last years numbers and think How do I pass this guy over? well, now you know the answer to that.

    Trevor Lawrence (done?)

well, so far so good. you are most of the way through the season. but I hate stressing over QB. so I usually just draft a set it and forget it type a little earlier. I'm generally pretty decent at getting serviceable WR/RB late in the draft. but white Wonder (below) actually laid it out well. in my one draft I didnt have a whole lot of auction dollars so I bought in on Goff and hes been decent. got Cousins in another league of mine and hes also been decent. so there are always options, but when going zero QB once the QB start going, you need to jump on the train or you end up with someone below that level. its a fine line some years.

you are not kidding. I know you dont love Baker, but he is having himself a pretty good season.

    Time to cut bait?

hes been dropped in all my competitive leagues.
  23. I dont think Pacheco takes a full workload out of the gate. you will get at least one and maybe 2 more good weeks out of Hunt given the procedure used on his knee. its a slower healing injury

MNF Discussion: Dolphins at Rams - Week 10

well, I think the bonuses for distance need to be tweaked in some cases. my league gives double points for 50+ yard FG. maybe given the change maybe it should be 4 points for 50+ and double for anything longer than 55 (or maybe 60) my league is just one example. either way, I still think the elite kickers will shine with the distance bonuses and I think its a good thing to keep them. Not all kickers can do 50+ reliably. but your top 8 or 10 of them do and the elite ones can do 55 fairly reliably. if your elite guys are doing that, you maybe need to move those guys up your draft list. an elite kicker is a significant advantage now given those bonuses and we as drafters need to adjust for this.

    Denver RB's

This is good information. Estime was supposed to be a good talent but had trouble hanging onto the football(at least if my memory is correct and I'm too busy to look it up). if he has overcome this even to a point where his drop rate isnt offensive he could be given a shot. though it is also worth noting I think the Line had some injuries early in the year and didnt look great. but some of the injured guys are coming around now, so I wouldnt be surprised if the run game starts to look a bit better in the coming weeks. but only against weaker D lines. Against good Defensive fronts it will still be tough sledding as the O line is still not as good as it needs to be.
