    Auction Values

fftoday usually does, but I think that comes later. maybe in a week or two. I dont recall ever seeing auction values on this site during week 1 of exhibition.

    Derrick Henry...expectations?

it's tough to look good as a runner when you are in a pass happy offense. This is the type of offense he should have been in from day one. If he can keep the weight off, it will reduce his risk of injury and will help his speed a bit too. Hopefully he can do what he needs to to get there.

So wat is everyone really doing with Zeke?

Certainly a possibility. Personally, If he makes it to me in the second round of any redraft I'd pick him right away. NO questions asked. I just wouldnt spend a top 5 pick for him.

Freeman vs Gordon @ end of rd 1

well, I think it's also a case where all the good WR were injured so Gordon got a lot more red zone looks than he would otherwise get in a normal situation. the Chargers WR's are a lot better than they have been in recent memory. so we are looking at a bit of a crapshoot. It wouldnt surprise me if there are more red zone opportunities as a whole, but Gordon will get a lot lower percentage of the looks in the red zone. I think it's a net negative.

Mixon? Help with my first pick please

Crowell and Mixon are interchangeable. I think both have risks and upside, but in the end I think Mixon's got a bit more upside and a bit more risk. If you want safe, Crowell will be steady, but unspectacular. He's a high end RB2 or a low end RB1 depending on who you talk to. Mixon's the better talent, but he has 2 RB's who are ahead of him in the pecking order and who will poach carries from him if he does become the starter. going on the assumption he does become the starter, I think he loses some passing downs to Gio and red zone carries to Hill. Leaving him a risky low to mid range RB2. What makes this kid worth your while is that he may be a keeper for years to come. So there is the potential benefit in future years. Keenan Allen is risky due to his risk of injury. He's only played about 8 or 9 games over the last 2 years. If you want a safe pick, he's not your guy. Also, you have 2 WR already, why take a risk on a third who is injury prone? I think you need a RB. Personally, I think you need to swing for the fences. Playing it safe rarely wins you a championship. And the player with the best upside is Mixon. And I think the risk level is acceptable given the possible upside.

    Gillislee thoughts?

I wouldnt take him. The pats go with a committee when running the ball. it didnt happen last year due to injuries and Blount got all the carries as a result. I'd bet against that happening this year.

    12th pick

I would not take Gronk. Too injury prone to waste a pick on that early. I'd lean towards Jordy or Howard. both are good choices. It's mostly a matter of preference.

Freeman vs Gordon @ end of rd 1

His YPC wasnt good. He also ran behind one of the worst lines in football. they have drafted 3 solid players in the last 2 years, but 2 are rookies and one of those is already hurt. The third (tuerk)was a rookie last yr, and missed the season with an injury. so basically 3 rookies, one of which is hurt. I think the line will be better, but not by as much as people think. This line will have some growing pains and until everyone gets on the same page it wont be much better than last season. Next year I think the line will take a big step forward. and so will Gordon's stats.

    Derrick Henry...expectations?

you know, everyone was down on Yeldon, but in his rookie year he got 740 yards rushing and 279 yards receiving in 12 games played. That's on pace for just a shade under 1000 yards rushing and just under 400 yards receiving if projected to a 16 game season. That's better than Crowell did last year and everyone is buying in on him this year hoping he will have that kind of season. I realize a RB is more than just the stats he gets, but I truly didnt think Yeldon was THAT bad. Especially when you consider the line he ran behind wasnt great. he's certainly no red zone monster, but he can do everything else reasonably well. It would not surprise me if he went elsewhere and had some success after his rookie contract is finished. I think the kid just needs a better situation and a good coach.

Allen Robinson bounce back or 2016

honestly, Robinson is high up there in value and there's not a ton of upside from there. There is downside if Bortles regresses. if you want to pick a player at or near their ADP in this offense who is likely to exceed expectations it would be Hurns. if he hadnt got hurt, he was headed to his second 1000 yard season and look at his ADP. This guy is potentially the best bargain. and by picking him up late, if Bortles game goes in the tank, you dont stand to lose much. He would be your WR4 or WR5 with WR2 upside potential. What's not to like.

    Keenan Allen

so there are two trains of thought here: The addition of Williams and Benjamin will take away from Allen's targets Allen's history of injury makes him risky. when looking at these two things, the logical move is..... to buy Rivers. the extra WR depth improves his upside, and if Keenan Allen is healthy, I'd expect Rivers to have a better season as well. I thought he had a decent year last year with very little in the way of receivers outside of the TE position. it looks like the line will be better as well. Although with a rookie and Tuerk who basically red shirted last year (so effectively two rookies) it could be a rough start for the line until they all get on the same page. all that potential upside could be captured in Rivers stats. Just sayin.

    Keeper question

I pretty much know what I want to do.... but I thought I'd get some second opinons. here is the deal: -standard league, no PPR -Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR and one TE We are allowed to keep 3 Potential keepers At QB Aaron Rodgers At RB DeMarco Murray Isaiah Crowell Doug Martin Paul Perkins At TE Kelce At WR Hopkins Who would you keep and Why?
  14. Ray_T

    Keenan Allen

I wasnt really concerning myself with that one. If I was, I would have mentioned it specifically with the grade 3 ACL and PCL tears.

    Keenan Allen

http://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/keenan-allen/6678 this link takes you to the sports injury predictor which has his injuries documented throughout his college and NFL career. his injuries are all over the map PCL, ACL, shoulder, hip, pedal ankle.... it all adds up to not great.
  16. Ray_T

    Freeman has a concussion.

I agree that the smart move is to trade one of them. the question is.... which one do they unload. Personally, I would have been inclined to trade Freeman, save the cap space. his value is high, they probably could have got a nice pick or a very good player and done almost as well with Tevin. this may still be the plan, but Tevin Coleman likely is easier to trade because he wont be asking for huge money. Either way, one of them will be gone within 2 years. That much I know for sure.
  17. Ray_T

    Keenan Allen

9 games played in the last 2 years. he has never played a full season without missing time. I think you have to consider the injury history here. Even if you think he will finally put it all together health wise.

    Keeper question

I normally dont keep QB's but in this league QB's go earlier than they should and Rodgers is the top QB on the board based on our scoring system. I figure if I keep Murray and Crowell, along with Rodgers, I could go WR early and often (as you suggest) to get value. I could splurge early on a TE such as Kelce too. It's on my radar. the tempting one to sub in was Kelce and I could replace Crowell with him, but I really dont like spending big on a TE. Either way, I have time, so I'll see what others have to say before making a final decision. thanks for your reply
  19. Ray_T

    Keenan Allen

wow, FFtoday has him ranked 36 or 37 making him a low end WR3. if his ADP is 3.08 that would suggest he is way overvalued.
  20. Ray_T

    Freeman has a concussion.

I truly think that money talks and that contract tells us who management wants to be the long term starter. So long as Freeman is able to play week 1 there is no reason to get that Coleman train running. Barring injury or ineffectiveness by Freeman, I expect the same stats for Coleman this year as he got last year.
  21. Ray_T

    Derrick Henry...expectations?

I think this is a correct analysis. also, Murray is a better pass catching back, and as long as this remains the case, He is the better back. (provided he remains healthy)
  22. Ray_T

Keep Melvin Gordon or Lesean McCoy?

as it is a keeper league, Gordon gives the potential for future keepings. and this may be the last year you'd want to keep Mccoy. as the dropoff from McCoy to Gordon isnt really that large I think you need to go with the young guy. That means Gordon is your man.

    Help - PPR Trade Offer

Yeah, looks okay for you. Still trying to figure out why he wants to make this deal, but I guess that's not my problem.

    Sammy Watkins Traded to Rams

St. Louis is starved for talent at WR. I think they were willing to take their chances to see if Sammy can play a season without getting hurt. If it works, great. If it doesnt, they are not on the hook for a big, long contract, so the risk to the team is low. the compensatory pick lowers the risk further. I think it's a reasonable gamble. Also, they are trying to develop a young QB. I know his stats in limited duty were not great last year, but that's actually pretty normal for rookie QB's. And who did he have to throw to? Seriously. not to mention that the team was poor, so the kid was playing from behind. This generally means as a QB you sometimes have to take some chances with throws to try to turn things around and win. at some point, the team has to trust and have faith in their scouting that this kid will eventually be a player, and they need to give him the tools to allow him a reasonable chance to succeed. This, I think, is what they have done. It wouldnt surprise me to see the Rams unload a 3rd round pick to acquire another veteran WR as well. I'm actually surprised they didnt make a pitch for Boldin. He's a solid possession WR who had good hands and runs good routes. Even if he's past his prime, he'd be a good mentor in that room. so I do think we will see better things from Goff this year. How much better I cannot say but I do like the move and I think they have at least given this kid a chance at success (as compared to last year when there was really no chance at success in my opinion)

So wat is everyone really doing with Zeke?

there is a reason why he is not the starter here or elsewhere. I do think running behind this line he will put up serviceable numbers while Zeke is out. He would be the natural handcuff but there are others out there. They will just cost more to acquire.
