it has. and I'm surprised. Was pretty sure it would hurt Amon Ra and the #3,#4 WRs would get less touches. but maybe hes so good that the usual checkdowns that go to him dont go to him because when the WR are open, there is no need to check it down.

    Pacheco Update: Fractured Fibula

not all fractures are the same. you can have a hairline fracture which will hurt but wont be intolerable and you can have a spiral fracture where the pain will be unmanageable. my hope is that this means its a less serious one. those spiral fractures take forever to heal.

    Pacheco Update: Fractured Fibula

damn. This is gonna throw a wrench into my fantasy year. he may not miss the season but he likely wont be able to be productive for me until the final weeks of the fantasy year. maybe the fantasy playoffs.

you can also stream any borderline offensive players against that crappy D too. Man they looked gawd awful. I was beginning to have sellers remorse for when I dumped Dionte Johnson. Not that I dont believe in the player, but when I looked at the offense I was appalled. Reminds me of the Rams offense before McVay got in. Looked like a high school offense. granted they were playing a good Defense, but still, as an offense they didnt even look like they were making any attempt to make it hard on the defense and when they did it looked like they only confused themselves. I dont know who to blame on this mess, but I'm pretty sure the coach wont make it through the season.

    Pacheco Update: Fractured Fibula

being able to trot or jog 20 feet is different than being able to run with burst and making cuts. At the end of the day they will scan/x ray his leg, do the ultrasound or whatever they do and figure out if its serious, short term, or long term. I do hope its not serious.

    Minnesota Vikings

could well be this. I always thought he'd play a couple games and do well, then the defenses have some tape on him and force him to make adjustments to his game. at that point hes out of his comfort zone and I dont think he adjusts well on the fly when things are not going well. so once there are a couple games worth of tape, the defenses adjust. We shall see if this comes to pass again. But I'll be honest, I'm not a believer. he just doesnt pass the eye test for me. (not yet anyways)

SNF Discussion: Bears at Texans - Week 2

funny thing is, I thought the line was supposed to be ok. not great but at least average. they dont look average today. they look bad. though Houston is I think an above average Defense, so maybe that had something to do with it, but still.... I expected better.

    T Higgins

agree. Higgins is your play unless hes expected to be out a long time

2024 NFL Draft Profile - QB Caleb Williams

yeah, the defense is real good. I've been telling people they are a nice late round defense and got some laughs from some.

Ha is there any advantage to this?

also a risk. Though I am starting to think Barkley may be poaching a number of the Hurts Tush Push TD. Especially with Kelce Retired. he had a lot of power to move the line forward. Not sure if his replacement can do it the way he did.

if the matchup is good, I can see it being a good strategy. if the matchup is bad.... not so much. if the team plays poorly you obviously put yourself in a bad spot.

    3 and Out! Contest

well, if playing the long game, all the good QB games get used up early, so if you can take a couple calculated risk with lower ranking guys early, then you have your good picks that you can use later. either way, you pay your money and you take your chances.

    Miami Dolphins running backs

honestly I dont know how much that matters. its hard because some coaches are making players questionable when they have a hangnail. so was he really hurt? I dont know. he didnt look hurt. that's all I"m saying.

    Miami Dolphins running backs

yeah, he looked explosive and dangerous. problem is, if I was a DC with Tua out, I would double cover Tyreek and stack the box to keep the run game down. I know Waddle is still a good WR, but hes not a game Breaker like Tyreek. Hes the most dangerous weapon on the team. but the key would be forcing that inexperienced QB to throw the ball as often as possible to give your D their best chance to get turnovers. and taking away the #1 RB and the run game seems like the best way to do it. if the QB shows he can beat you when you play that way, then I'd expect some teams will go away from this but for now, that is the name of the game.

2024 NFL Draft Profile - QB Caleb Williams

they have ruined a lot of top QB prospects in the last 20 years. thats for sure. This time I figured they were doing a lot of things right. dude has lots of weapons. Line is decent. These are things you want for your QB. in the past they brought in their QB to play behind a subpar line or with no good WR to throw to and that's not good. There are QB coaches and O C's who have a reputation of being good at working with young QB's out there. when you have a young QB I'd not leave it to chance. I'd bring these guys in and make sure that kid has the full chance at success. I am hopeful here with Chicago. Like I said, for the first time I think they may actually be doing things right in terms of developing their young QB. Waldron was behind Geno Smiths turnaround so hes got a history of taking a young QB (one who was on the scrap heap) and turning him into a player. he has also worked on some good teams with good coaches. was in New England years ago when they were good. he was with LA under McVay. so he knows how to run an offense. so we will see. one bad game doesnt define a player. lots of players flop in their first appearance as a pro. we need to remember, the first year is a year of learning. I dont mind if the kid makes a lot of mistakes as long as he learns from those mistakes. Thats the key. but for us, its wait and see. I predict 3 or 4 games where the stat line wont be great and then he will start to show signs of being a player. likely inconsistent at first, but will gradually become more consistent.

    1-0 roll call

I actually liked the scouting report on him better than I did for Caleb. but Caleb has far more talent around him so I blew a lot of cash at auction in the hopes of reaping rewards for some years. in the end, you may have gotten the better player..... but only time will tell

    Miami Dolphins running backs

I think the Miami RB's are already down one. given that Achane missed significant time last year, I would at least think about holding him. Achane goes down and he likely gets all the carries he can handle.

honestly the Bills lost a couple guys on D but the Defense still looks to be pretty darn good. Not the best I've seen, but pretty good

TNF Discussion: Bills at Dolphins - Wk2

actually I thought the WR gave up on the route and stopped running just as he was throwing. so I blame that (at least partly) on the receiver.
