I see the point. never mind. I gotta quit reading these posts when I'm tired. haha

to clarify, I'd say he gets no more carries than a regular backup RB. Technically if there is no backup Walker is getting all of them, so hes getting enough to keep Walker fresh. but not much more than that.

hes got a lot of potent weapons in the offense to use. really all he needs to do is get the ball into one of their hands each play. that alone takes a lot of pressure off of the rookie as I feel that this crew of WR's should be able to get open for their QB. I really like his chances of an early breakout.

picking at #5, you can very easily end up with the guy you were gonna keep in the first place. you may get lucky and get someone better. I like your options at 5. I'd keep Puka.

yeah, in a 2 QB league I think you need to take that deal. and both those QBs will likely (assuming good health) outperform what they did last year.
-
assuming its not a superflex league, I would also likely take that deal. you still have Burrow and Kyler Murray (who I think has a real nice year this season)
-
for sure. but they have probably shown him the real deal in closed practices with the defense going full out. maybe even a couple open ones. but we likely wont really have a true idea of how good the kid is until week 1 or week 2 are fully in the books. This is why I dont like drafting rookies. it can be a total crapshoot.
-
quite possibly right. what I dont like is we know what the injury is, but not necessarily the severity. though given timeline, likely a mild grade 2 injury. it could have also been a grade 1 injury where they were being overly cautious.
-
It is very common for rookies to have this issue. partly because the speed at the NFL level is higher. but also partly because the coverage is better too. open by NFL standards is considerably tighter coverage than when a WR is open by college standards.

the receivers were fully blanketed? I figured their WR were far too good for this to happen. unless we are talking mostly backups playing in this.

Herbert seems to be back. Not sure how close he is to 100% but the fact he is practicing with time to spare makes me think hes not missing time.
-
I like Palmer the best among the Chargers WR because I think he has the highest floor of the 3.
-
agreed. the offense as a whole is better than its been in a couple years. and the presence of a legit deep threat will open things up for Kelce, but Kelce has lost a half step too. in the end it will be close to a wash but I have Kelce around TE3/4 overall depending on scoring rules. I do not have him ranked as the #1 TE in any format

How do you rate these three wide receivers Garrett Wilson? St. Brown and Justin Jefferson.
Ray_T replied to Baker Boy's topic in FFToday Board
in terms of actual talent it is Jefferson Wilson St Brown in terms of fantasy points, I rank it like this Wilson St Brown Jefferson I rank Jefferson third because of his QB situation. but he is without a doubt the best and most talented WR of the bunch. but that does you no good if the QB is incapable of consistently getting him the ball. -
well, if you manage to pick whoever emerges as the WR1, you could end up with a 1000 yard WR for pennies on the dollar. if these guys fall far enough its well worth the lotto pick

it is pre season. he should be lighting it up against these guys. not trying to pee on your parade but this is what I expect from a veteran starter in pre season.

I know this is a new regime and they want to distance themselves from the old. but at this point it doesnt look like the managment is much better. I guess we shall see. the results should speak for themselves. I do like the draft picks they made this year (for the most part) so that's at least something.
-
I know, but talent is still talent. even in a regime change a useful player can be repurposed instead of selling them off for pennies on the dollar. if you have to replace the whole roster your rebuild takes 2 to 3 times as long.
-
redskins also traded their best defensive player to the bears last year. I'm not sure I'd judge based on this. I think its more likely they wanna gut the team and rebuild from the bottom up in their own image. a harder way to go for sure.
