Dynasty: Malik Nabers is better than Marvin Harrison Jr
Ray_T replied to nobody's topic in FFToday Board
honestly the scout reports I've seen make me like Nabers in most aspects, but that catch radius and route running favours Harrison for being an early producer. His catch radius is soooo impressive. the one play he was running ball thrown behind him and he bent his body, reached back with one hand and brought in the ball. surprised the hell out of the DB who thought he had an easy INT. and the most impressive part is Harrison didnt even need to slow down. he turned it upfield right away. Most impressive thing I've ever seen. I will say Nabers due to his speed seems to gain better separation. but if the ball is behind him he cant do what Harrison did on that play. so if you have a pin point passer, Nabers is likely the preferred guy. if you have a QB whose accuracy is lacking some, Harrison will actually make up for that with his catch radius and ability to adjust to the ball. I do think Harrison is a nice match with Kyler Murray. and I am expecting good things from him in his rookie year. Nabers is tougher to figure. Danny dimes had a reputation of putting the ball where it needs to be (thus the nickname dimes) but as a pro he hasnt been that good. part of this is due to an inferior line for sure. hard to be accurate when you have to throw early with a person in your face. but if they can find a way to protect him long enough Nabers could do well here. Thing is... if New York Bails on Danny Dimes then we are looking at breaking in a new rookie QB and that hinders Nabers long term. (if you are picking for dynasty) so if I had to bet on a rookie season I'm betting on Harrison. but I assure you both WR are likely gonna have long and productive careers. -

it is certainly possible. usually the sign that you are asking too much is when the team gives you permission to negotiate with others. that usually means the team isnt giving THAT to you. now that other teams also are not giving him that money the hope would be that he would realize hes not worth THAT much. but as someone who has dealt with people I can say there is no reasoning with some people. so I dont know which bucket he fits into. but there is a chance this happens.

Amari is also an older WR so you could argue the team is keeping their window open a little longer this way. 3 years from now Cooper will be in clear decline. but San fran can draft someone this next offseason to eventually replace Amari. Also it may solve a cap issue. if Aiyuk is asking for 30 mil, Cooper provides a much more affordable option for them. so I think the deal makes some sense to both sides. its mostly about what kind of contract Amari is willing to sign for.

all that and Naj is still listed as the starter. so that is the direction I am leaning at this time. but its not as clear cut as I'd like it to be.

San Fran will coach him up some. but the coach there will sometimes sit a player if he doesnt do it his way. so it adds risk if he goes there. might be better for him long term, but possibly short term value goes down.

yeah, if the QB is bad or the offense is bad its sometimes hard to evaluate players in this way. with little to no garbage time games for the RB's we shouldnt have expected any more than RB2 production for either. Teams know the biggest threat is the ground game, so they likely stacked the box and dared whoever was starting to beat them through the air. As neither QB really proved they could get it done through the air, there was likely no reason for anyone to stray from this. Thats what id have done if I was the Defensive Coordinator facing the Steelers last year. so its harder for the RB to perform when that is the situation. Wilson isnt what he once was, but hes good enough to keep defenses honest. I expect the ground game will be considerably better than it was last year. but I'm still not 100% sure which RB in this offense I would prefer

I dont know why Pittsburgh is in on this. I think Pickens is fine. 1100 yards receiving playing with a QB who is no longer a pro starter. Sure, Aiyuk put up a few more yards and a couple more TD but thats a function of playing on a better team and with a better QB. I'd keep Pickens(who up to this point seems relatively drama free) and be happy to live without the deva Aiyuk even if Aiyuk's numbers are slightly better. As Pickens has an actual pro level starter tossing him the ball this year, I do expect he will take another step forward in his production. WR who can perform with a subpar QB are valuable commodities. especially when still on a rookie contract.

no question about it. though it does look like he will be back before week 1 so it might be a nothing burger. hard to say for sure. if buying shares of him, you wanna keep an eye on his status.

oh how the mighty have fallen lol

yep. but the guy going the other way is getting paid too. the two likely cancel each other out to some extent.

hard to say. for Amari I'd guess Amari and a 2nd? maybe throw in another late pick. the ask is probably Amari and a first but that may be overkill. that value would place him in the top tier of WRs and I dont think hes top tier. hes the top of the tier below. still a very good player mind you. what makes this tricky is hes still fairly young so the value isnt necessarily easy to quantify

yep. and because I'm not a legal expert and dont know his chances of a conviction I cant possibly assess the risk. if you are considering him Id recommend doing all your research on the issue, the player, the situation that you can muster. I actually find this sort of situation harder because a lot of the info you need to properly assess risk is kept quiet because its a matter that will be before the courts. with an injury usually you can find everything you need and can properly peg timelines to recover and seriousness. but if it was me, I'd do my homework before spending the pick. at least I'd be going into that risk with my eyes fully open. and lots of people dont do their homework and get burned. either by taking a player they shouldnt or not taking a player they should actually take.

honestly it affects scrambling ability more than anything. with plant foot I suppose there is the risk it affects his throwing motion so maybe in pre season you may want to make sure. I will say the one camp report I saw said Cousins looked extremely sharp so I'd say the odds are decent that he will be fine. and as he is not a running QB this shouldnt change the way he plays in any significant way. Hes a pocket passer and that wont change. This injury is far worse for a RB than it is for QB.

I think you are overreacting here. dude has had trouble with the law so it is a legitimate risk he gets suspended. what we dont know is when that happens or if it happens at all but it is still a risk. and you should treat that the same as an injury that could keep him out a few games (or not) if you wanna ignore that risk as a fantasy owner thats your choice and you are free to do so. I dont expect everyone here to know the ins and outs of the law in each state. (I know I dont) all I know is hes been arrested and that is a risk. I've also found that on average when a player has an off field issue they are dealing with it quite often will affect on field production. my theory is that this happens because the guy is not 100% focused on football. so I dont just avoid because of risk of suspension. I also avoid for this reason. case in point Desean Watson. while he paid dearly to make the legals go away I'm sure this wreaked havoc on his personal life too and no surprise, he signs a huge contract and flops. I think eventually he may bounce back. dont know if it happens this year or not but I dont think he just became a bad player overnight. There is more to this. the dude is human. either way, food for your thoughts. you dont have to agree with me but thats where i'm at on this issue.
