  1. wow, Watson and Richardson.... your team is the walking wounded. Now that Richardson is injured, I actually think people will now be surprised at how good minshew will be as well. hes an underrated player. but this thread isnt about him so i wont speak to this any further. good luck to you. from the look of your injury situation that team may be in some trouble for the next couple weeks due to QB injury

Who are you starting Zach Evans over?

not yet. these guys dont know the playbook. for this week at least, only RB who know the playbook are likely to put up any kind of numbers. after this week a couple guys are likely to have a shot at doing something but even so, I think their use would be limited. I'd say anyone signed today likely needs a min of 2-3 weeks to be able to play a significant role.

    ACL injury

My memory isnt perfect on this issue but I think going into draft day I had him as the #13 QB on my board (give or take one) which made him a borderline QB1/2. so if someone picked him up to be a starter I wouldnt have gone so far as to call it a bad decision. given the injury, if he actually plays again this year (big IF) it wont likely affect your fantasy season. and even so, he may recover to a point where he can throw..... but the injury likely would hinder his mobility and should take away from his fantasy value. if he somehow manages to play this year, he will be a statue in the pocket. so I'd take away any and all projected rush yards as well as any plays that he would make on the run. that should be enough to knock him into mid to low QB2 range. possibly lower. either way, hes basically a Writeoff unless your fantasy league runs to the very last week of the season or into the actual NFL playoffs.
  4. sure if you think there is a need to cast blame. personally I feel a game is a game. I dont care where or when they play it. if its on and I'm available to watch then I'll tune in. if not, then I miss the game. its really that simple. its not like it takes away from my ability to view other games.
  5. either way, I dont think hes a bad player to grab and stash if you are in a deeper league. especially if its a 2 QB or superflex format. there is some upside there.

    Keep rolling with Captain Kirk?

Howell has been surprisingly decent overall but his floor is low and his ceiling is high and hes very inconsistent. I like his matchup this week (giants) and it wouldnt surprise me if he outperformed Cousins who has a terrible matchup. but if you need to drop Cousins to pick him up, my answer would be no. if you have a bum or a scrub you can put on the wire for one week, then yes. pick him up. at least for this one week

    ACL injury

with Rodgers, I think it highly unlikely he returns but it also depends how his throwing motion is. he may be able to play and throw the football, but his mobility will likely be gone if he does play. I would place his odds of returning this year at less than 5%. likely this is a generous estimate. most would place his odds of returning at less than 1%

    Keep rolling with Captain Kirk?

Minny has solid depth at the WR position so while this will hurt them it wont completely shut down Cousins value. That said.... I'd avoid starting him against San Fran if I could. Even with a fully healthy Jefferson it is dicey.

    The Marvelous Marvin Mims

if getting 5-7 targets a a game that likely makes him a WR2. possibly a WR1A if hes on the high end of that range. though if trading him I think what they should do is once he gets healthy they need to feature the guy. give him all the passes he can handle and show he can be that guy. coming off injury everyone will be sending the low ball offers. Tough to get value until he comes back and shows he can still play.
  10. keep in mind this scouting report was a pre draft scouting report. he has had time to work with pro level coaches. I fully expected they would resolve some of these issues (but not all) the throwing mechanics are always a concern and if delivering lower than a 3/4 release point its only a matter of time til he starts having passes batted at the line (and sometimes picked) but yeah its easy to do the lock on the WR thing at the college level because if you have a WR that can consistently create separation you wont ever be punished for that (and so will not correct the issue) at the pro level I'm sure with all of training camp this is likely one of the first things the coaches looked at correcting. as for the mechanics and footwork I never got to see what he looked like as I wasnt watching the game. I'll try to get a look but I have a busy week so there is the chance I wont get to it.

    SNF Discussion: Giants at Bills

it was actually not a bad game to watch. the New York defense was good in ways they have not been (up to this point at least) Tyrod Taylor played well. in some respects the offense looked better with him than it would have under Danny Dimes.

    SNF Discussion: Giants at Bills

true. either way I cannot help but feel if the Giants didnt shoot themselves in the foot, they may have won this game. they get that FG at the end of the first half, the team then no longer needs a TD to win at the end. Granted, the play calls on both sides would likely have been different in a 2 point game than they were in a 5 point game for that last drive where the G-Men failed to score so it may or may not have made a difference but I do feel it was a good effort by the G men and/or a poor effort by Buffalo. (or both)
  13. as this is suddenly relevant I am going to post information on Bagent as I find it. This was found on the NFL scouting report (which I will admit generally summarizes things more than I'd like) Highly decorated and highly confident Division II quarterback with adequate NFL size but mechanical issues that need to be cleaned up. Bagent’s footwork can become erratic under pressure and his delivery is reminiscent of a shortstop’s throw to first base at times. He plays with a good feel for his offensive design and a willingness to attack all intermediate pockets of the field regardless of cover scheme. However, the decision-making and arm strength might not be good enough to beat the window-shopping defensive backs of the NFL. further to this a listing of his weaknesses Weaknesses Can dip below a three-quarter release point as a passer. Has had issues coming off of ill-advised throws and moving to the next read. Stares down targets, leading center field safeties to the throw. Footwork and ball placement fall apart when he starts rushing throws. Inconsistent decision-making when faced with blitzing fronts. Faced lower level of competition I personally am not as concerned about what the level of competition was where he played. but the 3/4 release point or lower would indicate he probably will get a lot of passes batted down at the line. the staring down of targets is also a concern. going back to his strenghs I like what I see in the tape I see a lot of what is listed below: Strengths Four-year starter with adequate frame and hand size. Capable of smooth, rhythmic footwork in setup. Access to a quick, efficient release. Patient to wait for routes to develop. Poised and confident making intermediate throws into zones. Plays with good feel for route concepts. Athletic enough to elude defenders and escape the pocket. so the bottom line is the kid needed some pro level coaching before he would be ready to play at the NFL level. if they cleaned up some of his mechanics I think there is a fair chance we have a player. lots of ifs there but I do think hes a player worth watching. I would not be surprised to see him put up some reasonable stats throwing the ball but if he still stares down his #1 target or throws below the 3/4 release point hes gonna get some INT's. You cannot do those things at the NFL level. but I am excited to see where he is in his development. wouldnt surprise me if he needs more time to clean this part of his game but we wont know until we see what he can do. I will agree based on what I have seen, he has more upside than is typical for a player drafted late in the draft (and he is undrafted)

    post your trade offers here

standard scoring. Keeper league (keep 2) currently a 2 QB league but will change to superflex next year with only 1 superflex spot. (so basically the same most of the time) I was offered DK Metcalf and Fields for Herbert and Courtland Sutton. This trade was rejected. I prefer to keep Herbert in the long term and I didnt feel I was getting enough value here.
  15. arguably best ball is the format where Williams has the most value.

    London Discussion: Ravens @ Titans

well, if his career was going to last much past the age of 30 he needed to transition to being a pocket passer. use the run as a threat but only utilize at important times when needed. the skill as a passer is what will keep him relevant once he gets older and his athleticism starts to fade

    TNF Discussion: Broncos @ Chiefs - Wk6

yeah this defense may be legendary in the sense of how bad they have been for them to have a chance I think the defense needs to step up. Not likely unless Kelce actually misses the game like what happened in week 1. Even then, when you are this bad there is always somebody open. I'm not sure Kelce's absense or presence would change the outcome. It might change the projected points for KC but not by a lot.

    Joe Burrow

ok so what is the latest on Burrow. I didnt get to watch his last game. but he put up numbers against a soft defense. is it safe to say he is back? or is it one of those where the defense played like a 27th ranked defense and burrow didnt do anything special?
  19. Ray_T

    Van Jefferson

agreed. upside is maybe a little higher as he may be higher in the depth chart than he was in LA. but the floor is lower due to the quality of the QB

    SNF Discussion: Cowboys at 49ers

Dak's performance should not have been surprising. I've said this for some time now. Dak beats up on weak defenses, but against good ones he disappears. what surprised me was how well San Fran was able to handle the Cowboys D

Cooper Kupp AND Puka Nacua Owners...

yeah, if hes not its gonna be close. at the very least he should be rostered as a nice high end backup
  22. 100% correct. only reason they didnt completely redshrit him is likely because they wanted him to learn the playbook and so they used it as an in game teaching opportunity. he is not in game shape so his usage this week may be a bit lower than what it would typically be for the rest of the year but my expectation is that when he is on the field he will be the #2 WR. Possibly #3 in his first game back.

    Buy Pacheco?

I fully agree. his skillset makes him a somewhat gamescript dependant player, but hes also playing for the Chiefs, so that concern isnt what it would be if he was playing on a different team. the only difference between a high end RB2 and a Low end RB1 is consistency and/or possibly high end ability. I think he could possibly develop the consistency this year but we wont know until mid season for sure. but I think hes getting close. like I said, earlier. if you can get him for the price of a mid range RB2 or lower thats a buy. 100%. do not negotiate just hit accept.

Who is a better stash in PPR leagues

I think I like spears best as well. Henry is of the age where an injury could bring an end to a great career and Spears is the next man up. sometimes its just being in the right place at the right time. good luck
