it was only a matter of time. at his age, he and Tony Gonzalez are the only TE's who have finished as a TE1 at this age. Likely because they do less blocking than your regular tight end so less wear and tear on the body. Now that we are seeing a decline in his production I think the slope will likely get more slippery. It is dicey in terms of whether hes still a keeper.

I only need Goedert to score less than 23.8 points. I like my odds. Especially if Hurts doesnt play
-
hes been back for a while from what I can tell but now that the jets are out of the playoff hunt I think they will shut down any talk of Rodgers returning. Its simply not happening unless there is something in it to be gained by playing him while still injured.

awesome thanks for the insight. it is much appreciated.

no. and going from Brady to (nearly anyone) you would think there would be a dropoff. but then again when Brady first arrived I thought Evans would put up better numbers with Brady. The jump wasnt as large as I thought it was. in the end I think it is because Brady spread the ball around more. If my memory is correct I think Evans was injured during part of the Brady tenure too which may have affected that. I know the O line was a mess Brady's last year so the deep ball was not something he could throw as often because the pass protection wasnt there. Either way I cannot disagree he was the steal of the draft in the mid rounds.

His ADP should have taken a small hit but he produced before Brady arrived. So it is logical to assume he'd produce after he departs provided he is healthy and hasnt aged out. I think people over reacted to the news. (nearly always happens)

yeah Goff is a Far better option. good job
-
I dont think you start him against San Fran. I'd bet nearly anyone else is a better start that particular week. Jets might be a rough one too. I know he will put up extra yards with his legs, but these defenses will punish him badly for it I suspect. what other options do you have?
-
The problem with Douglas is the small sample size. His targets went up when Bourne got hurt. hes a real small player (5'8" and 170#) if he is up against a team that has jamming corners I suspect he would be neutralized to some degree. I'd want to see if he can escape the Jam at the line before I'd invest in the guy. He has some tougher defenses coming up. Pittsburgh is an average defense. KC slightly above average and Denver is now an above average defense even though early in the season they got torched and Buffalo. so the schedule suggests a dropoff is coming for him. but he may be ok vs Pittsburgh but its dicey after that. personally if you dont plan to start him this week you may be better off holding Hollywood. if his health improves better days may be ahead. so for now, I'd hold Hollywood but there may be better options on the wire than Douglas. you may want to look around

since Kyler Murray came back he had one game where he performed at a reasonable level. the others not so much. but I know hes been fighting an injury and I do not know how much that played a role. and hes not the type of player who I think would be adept at playing through injury so for now, he may be better on the wire. if your WR depth is suspect and you are willing to wait a couple weeks to see if he gets healthy and starts to produce he may be worth a pickup but dont go expecting to start him this week. you may need to wait another week or two. Even then..... its starting to look like the team has mailed it in. Not a good sign. There may be better alternatives out there. Cooks in Dallas is one if hes still on the wire.

whenever a known QB moves into a new offense the scouting report changes. but in this case its also a case of he doesnt know all of the playbook. so his game will also evolve as he learns more of it.
-
so how long until Flacco gets to start? or does Thompson-Robinson keep the job? Maybe PJ Walker gets a shot too......
-
I was going to start him ahead of Carr when I heard the news but I was out of town in a place with no wifi or internet and wasnt able to do my roster move in time. I wasnt starting flacco because I loved him but more because I didnt like Carrs matchup. in the end it did not matter. I couldnt get my change done in time.
-
there is always next year. hes a rookie with a long career ahead of him and the injury is not of the career ending variety. (not typically anyways)
-
well, the dallas D is very good. elite may be pushing it. teams with good offenses seem to be able to move the ball against them. subpar offenses turn a lot of balls over against them its weird. its like if the team is below .500 everyone on the Cowboys perform like an all star but if the team is better than .500 its dicey.
-
you are probably right, but an Achilles injury is more of an issue for RB's than it is for QB's. At Rodgers age I'm not sure he was a huge threat to run anyways. but it may affect the throwing motion some.
-
Well if Rodgers plays, that will completely change the way defenses will play. they wont stack the line because Rodgers would make them pay if they did. so Breece would see a big improvement and may get a few garbage time carries late in the game to make him a higher volume runner. no question about it. but that is indeed a very big IF. it may or may not come to pass

and remember guys, hes still recovering from ACL surgery. so hes not playing anywhere close to 100%
-
It was only a matter of time til teams start to key on the run. its not like the passing game scares anyone.....
-
well, Dobbs game may have looked quite a bit different if he had a healthy Jefferson to throw to. I dont care what anybody says..... You cannot replace a guy like him. I'm sure Jefferson's presence may have forced the defense to make some compromises to keep a lid on his production.

easier said than done. if thats the hand he usually uses to hold the ball it could affect ball security. They are not gonna put him out there if it means fumbles. I suspect thats why they are debating this issue now. -
yes you should be concerned. but in Dobbs Defense, the Chicago D was fantastic on many levels. They controlled the LOS and Dobbs had very little time to do anything...while hes been good since coming to Minny, he hasnt had to face a D like this. The Bears D looked like a Championship calibre Defense in this game. whether they can keep this up remains to be seen but they were very impressive. I guess what I am saying is not many teams will have the ability to do what the bears did here so I'd view this as a one off. I have heard rumours circulating Dobbs may be shown the bench. I'm not sure thats the right call but if that happens you wont have a choice in the matter.

ok I guess you have your answer. given the situation, you need a QB. for what he is, Dobbs is pretty good but hes a boom or bust player and I think you want more certainty rolling into the playoffs
