so Dobbs is your starting QB? Lawrence is an upgrade on Dobbs for sure. and honestly London wont be productive with the current QB. if this is a redraft league I'd take that deal. but if looking at Trevor Lawrence, we should also look at who is available on waivers. sometimes there are QB's on the wire who shouldnt be and Lawrence hasnt been THAT good this year.... and if you can get someone comparable on waivers, why pay when you can get comparable for free.
-
Flacco hasnt been bad when hes played. he started 3 games early last year averaging 300 yards and just under 2 TD per game. he played week 18. not sure if that was a relief appearance or if he started. that was a bit of a dud if it was a full game but if he came on in relief I'm not sure what to make of it. but if he puts up good starts in 3 out of 4 games thats far better than what the Browns have right now. I acknowledge the bar is low but given the sheer number of injuries to starters this year, hes not a terrible option in a 2 QB league if he indeed actually becomes the starter.
-
not a bad call. Even if Toney was playing I dont know that your decision should be any different.

some clubs are slow in making the designation. you have reason. you cant open a roster spot until hes designated on IR. I get that. Until that happens you are restricted in certain roster movements due to the dead roster spot.

Ja'Mar Chase without Burrow -- Rest of Way
Ray_T replied to whatjusthappened's topic in FFToday Board
I would say slim chance more likely he is a WR2 or WR3 depending on the quality of the QB who is now starting. At this point the QB is still a relative unknown. There is not enough info to determine how good he is at the pro level just yet. if the QB is extremely inept, Chase may not even be startable. -
the coach might do a RBBC if he wants to give Pierce a shot at his job back but I think Singletary has by far been the better back this season. Based on this it should be Singletary moving forward, but Coaches often like to say you dont lose your job while injured and will give him a shot to show he deserves to start. They should start Singletary but very possible it will be RBBC

Mopeds were never cool. Not really.

I dont have a choice. I'm in a 12 team, 2 QB league. one of my starters (cousins) got hurt at roughly the same time as my backup (Tannehill) I traded for another QB (Carr) at great cost, but I dont have a backup QB. so at this point I really have no choice. This is the best of a bad lot. all the starters are rostered, so you take players you think may become the starter within a couple of weeks and hope it ends up happening.
-
I am in a 2 QB league. so any player who I think may emerge as a starter is a guy I want on my roster.
-
sorry I didnt realize I was unclear. I was talking baseball.

I am streaming TE due to the injury to Waller thought I'd poll the boys and get some opinions Otton Vs Indy Everett vs Baltimore ----> I am thinking not due to matchup Hunter Henry vs NY Giants Okonkwo vs Carolina friermuth vs Cincy Leaning toward Friermuth but Otton doesnt look bad.
-
he started Mahomes. the whole WR group affects his production
-
15 minutes of action in a 3 hour game? how can you say its boring? oh yeah..... never mind....
-
yeah I used him once already. funny I thought the giants should be a good matchup but using the fftoday points against by position tool apparently the Giants are pretty good at defending the TE. I'm not sure its actually a good defending thing..... I'm guessing its more a case of the WR are open all the time so why throw to a TE hahaha
-
yeah it was a group effort in more ways than this. nearly every one of them had a brutal drop. I am not complaining. it allowed me to win a fantasy game I probably should have lost but the Chiefs WR group has been absolutely brutal for dropped passes.
-
come this time of year there is always the chance for a bad weather game. when that happens the run game becomes a bit more of a priority. not saying to expect huge numbers but maybe a bit more than what we have seen so far.
-
and Jeudy has had a handful of brutal drops.

I would be interested in seeing how quickly they get flacco on the field (or if they do it at all) I know hes not a high end QB but hes always been a solid game manager. if they think their defense is Top end, all they really truly need is a QB who is good enough to be average and not turn the ball over. That is the QB he is.. average to above average occasionally he will put up a big week but thats not very often. occasionally (usually once a year) Flacco will put up a stinker of a game against a top Defense. that's the guy he is. hes one of those QB's who is a better actual QB than he is a Fantasy QB.

I dont think its a hard cap. its a luxury tax. sure it does to some degree limit spending of the top teams, but if the cap only truly affects a small percentage of the teams, then its not going to be very effective. you need at least 1/4 to 1/3 of the teams feeling they need to get rid of players when the salary is too high. Thats when you see parity in the league. at that point almost any well coached and managed team who can do a good job of drafting and developing talent should have a decent shot at winning the world series at some point. if you look at the salary structure there likely are only 2 or 3 teams that actually spend to the cap (though I have not looked recently so correct me if I am wrong) that wont fix anything.
-
that is the purpose. the League wants parity. That means that teams close to the cap who spend their money stupidly inevitably get punished in the end for the irresponsible signing. and powerhouse teams can only stay together for so long. so your dynasties are not as long lasting unless the team makes some real good moves to stay on top. Even then..... not totally likely

we are 2/3 of the way through the season how is your team doing? what has been your biggest surprise? for me, my team is 9-1. I am in first place. it is a 12 team, 2 QB league (similar to superflex but you have to flex out your second QB) I'm amazed and surprised that i am 9-1. Season started with a win and one of my starting RB (Dobbins) got hurt. I promptly went onto the wire paid some FAAB and got Kyren Williams then I chugged along until Kyren williams got hurt. then after a couple more wins I had a nightmare week. Kirk Cousins went down and my backup QB ryan Tannehill went down as did my starting TE (waller). I managed to pick up Heinecke and win a couple games with smoke, mirrors good pickups and some good fortune in having opponents have bye weeks. I'll be honest this does not feel like a 9-1 team. it feels more like a 6-3 team but I am not complaining I did end up having to trade Kyren williams yesterday to get another starting QB. funny thing... nobody wants to help the guy who is 9-1. It was an overpay but one I needed to make If I wanted any hope of winning a championship. things could be worse. given the number of injuries, I should probaby be out of the playoff picture..... but given injuries my 9-1 record matters little. I doubt I'll have the staying power for the playoffs.
-
well, rookies who show a breakout in garbage time are always dicey plays the next week. he didnt look bad but it may be a few more games until he proves himself to a point where the team wants to start him.

well, it is the Browns. what were you expecting? dont get me wrong, I know why they did it. there were whispers from some who thought Dobbs should start instead of Watson. the numbers suggested it but that would imply that management made a bad call in signing Watson. it would be a QB controversy and I'm sure management didnt want to put this situation under a microscope. it would highlight their incompetence.
