that is the dilemma with this guy. and I hate to say it, but when the mid WR1's are going and you are up to bat, the right move is to pass and let someone else take the chance on him. if he slides to you in the next round you get him at a price that is more in line with what he delivers. its tough, but sometimes you gotta draw the hard line on players like this. pick them where you think there is value and dont reach for them early as the odds of it paying off isnt great.

I agree. though during the game I noted (either here or on another thread) someone complaining that the giants are using Waller to block too much. I assume this was an attempt to solve this issue but clearly it did not work. (not well enough anyhow) yes part of this falls on the coach, but even so, the line is not doing its job either. Not sure if this is a drafting issue a coaching issue or a player development issue (or all of the above) I do not know if the line has been dealing with injuries so this could (in theory) play a part as well. All I do know is while I was watching it was Bad. so bad I actually ended up turning the TV off. Its no fun watching a good team kick the crap out of a bad one.

yeah, 10 sacks is way too many. That was a bad scene

for me my toes were pointed down when the guy came down on my calves. but if he had come up higher it could have been my knee (in theory)

probably a sprained ankle but possibly an achilles injury. really depends on the angle he pushed down on the back of his leg. for me I had that happen and I was in a lot of pain for weeks afterwards with an ankle sprain. interestingly enough it was the front of my ankle that hurt. granted that was high school and we didnt have training staff, but I wouldnt be surprised if hes gone for the game. possibly one more game depending on how bad it is.

looks like geno may have issues. I had that happen to me once. it was nasty

the coach would counter that the best way to learn is by playing on game day. I dont think the coach cares about your fantasy team.

Stroud is the real deal. I think hes your guy.

I think thats a bit extreme. hes not the first QB to perform poorly in his first season and he wont be the last. while I'm the first to admit I dont think much of him...and I did notice he actually looks like a QB back there now. Last year he didnt. so there is improvement even if its not showing in the stats. granted that does not mean much... yet. he looks a little less like Teebow and a little more like a poor mans Jaylan Hurts (before he became good) hes played in 8 games so far in his career. half a season. There is plenty of time for him to turn it around.

guys, can we keep this about football? please?

well, shes good looking. I dont mind the eye candy. I think normally they cut to cheerleaders and such. Now we have Taylor Swift. I'm good with either. though I do like variety...... but thats another story. but a bunch of people who would normally not watch NFL are now tuning in. NFL's gotta love this.

absolutely nuts. the Defense is actually hindering the dallas players who are associated with the passing game. why would you risk an interception to bring the other team back into the game? You dont. you hand the ball off and make sure you dont fumble it. QB value is down and WR value is down in Dallas. not due to bad play, but due to a defense that forces games into garbage time by halftime.
-
I love his talent. I do. but when you see a bunch of games like this (and Dallas has now had a couple of them) I am glad I didnt buy. when you draft a WR1 you want him to perform each and every week and when the defense does what the Dallas D has been doing, that really hinders the value of any player associated with the passing game. one or two more games like this from the defense and I'd argue its questionable whether CeeDee is really a WR1. Talent wise he is. but when a player doesnt perform for 3 or 4 games out of your 14 game season that brings him pretty close to the line. it doesnt matter if he doesnt perform due to injury, a bad game from his QB or because of gamescript due to a high performing Defense..... if he doesnt perform, he doesnt perform. If I owned this guy I'd strongly consider selling him off while he still has value.

well, hes not out of the woods yet. I'm on my way home now. My hope is I can watch the second half of this game. It would be a nice story to see that this kid has stepped up his game at the best possible time against KC. the whole David and Goliath story is a good one. Either way, he was likely too young to write off. he may or may not be a player in the future but he was a top prospect on his draft day for a reason. people obviously felt he had traits that would one day make him a good pro. sadly hes in an organization that seems to have very little faith in him, and thats too bad. you have a young player like this, that player needs support to grow and I question whether he is getting the support he needs. at least the coach is defending him somewhat when the media is roasting him. but I think the kid deserves better.

I am not able to watch the game but in checking my phone I'm a bit surprised. the difference in this game is not the passer, it seems to be the ground game which is working for KC but non existent for New York. Granted I say this having not watched, but Mahomes 135 yards passing with 1 TD and 1 INT compared to Zach's 141 yards with 1 TD and no INT doesnt seem all that different.

The Bears have the worst coaching I've ever seen.

Ouch. Obviously the Stellar Denver D played a role in this passing Bonanza. -
What do we make of Derrick Henry moving forward?
Ray_T replied to Vtfanatic's topic in FFToday Board
both had good matchups with positive gamescript. That always helps. -
as it turns out Ceedee had a subpar game, but that may not be his fault. Once again the Dallas Defense stole the show and there was no need to throw the ball in the second half of the game. So its hard to say how this matchup would have turned out if the game unfolded in a normal way. Though I'm seeing this tough Dallas D as a hindrance for any dallas receivers for fantasy purposes. The talent is there, but when the game is salted away by halftime there is no actual need to throw the football. and why would you risk an intereception to let the losing team back in the game? anyhow I digress. But I'll agree that Lambs subpar performance may have been due to gamescript.

holy crap, I took a look at his scouting report and its pretty good. I'm surprised he didnt go sooner in the draft. everything looked good but hes not mobile or super athletic. but he has a rocket of an arm, pinpoint accuracy and good anticipation as well as a lightning quick release. this might legitimately be a player to watch here.

surprise to me, but I guess we will see if the kid can play.

Update: Deshaun Watson Not Expected to Play - Browns add PJ Walker

no idea. I have been watching too many of the kids cartoons but I dont pay that much attention. -
if these are your only choices I'd pick evans. Dallas D is fast and Rhamondre wont do much against them. Cards ran on them with a power run scheme between the tackles. Rhamondre is not that kind of a back. if the Pats try to duplcate that they will do it with Zeke.

Jameson Williams - Reinstated - Back with DET for Wk5
Ray_T replied to Vikings4ever's topic in FFToday Board
I'd drop Tank Bigsby. hes one of those players who is valuable to you but not to anyone else. if Williams looks bad you can always drop him and pick the Tank up again. nobody else will pick him up unless Etienne goes down in a heap with a bad injury -
one way or another we are about to find out. Belichek is pretty good at neutralizing one aspect of an offense and forcing teams to do other things to beat them. but CeeDee is a pretty good WR. maybe he can overcome this.
