hes in a better offense. I'm not surprised. but what has surprised me is how quickly he did it. He basically learned the playbook in 2 weeks and has been productive enough to win a game less than 1 week after being traded to the team. That is absolutely nuts! Most QB's take most of the preseason to learn the playbook and some dont even learn it all at that point. this guy is a gamer. I'm buying in wherever I can (though it is likely too late)

hes good enough. But there is a difference between being a good actual QB and a good Fantasy QB. Tim Teebow (when he was in Denver) was a great fantasy QB but not a good actual QB. maybe Lawrence is a good actual QB who doesnt put up huge fantasy numbers.... tough to say for sure. All I know is last weeks numbers were not encouraging.

probably a fair bet. Though Knox is good enough that he may cut into some of Kincaid's targets. its even possible that the presence of 2 TE's may make neither an exceptionally compelling play. But I do like what Kincaid has shown in this brief audition. I dont honestly anticipate a huge dropoff. maybe one less target per game or something of the like.

well, I was never sure about Ridley. Honestly I dont think hes a true #1 WR. and maybe that was part of the problem. he was miscast and then when you play a guy whos not a #1 WR and use him as such, everything in your offense doesnt work quite the way you want it to.
-
well, I guess that depends on how you define blue chipper..... but I'd say at the very least he should remain rostered until we have news that suggests otherwise. it is possible this turns into a TE by committee thing. but I wouldnt bet on that at this point. if you own Kinkaid, dont drop him (unless you are in my league.... I need a TE)
-
well, he hasnt looked all that good this season. Last year he looked like he could be breaking into that upper tier so hopes were high and then..... nothing. inconsistent play. some injuries.... sure I'll buy that, but a generational QB overcomes those things.
-
I think you play the matchups. no need to lock yourself into one guy for the rest of the year. nothing wrong with this.
-
and it certainly was. in our scoring format he got just over 15 fantasy points. thats solid. bordering on RB1 territory. I am not complaining

good news for Donta owners. I have injuries and byes this week and someone dropped him, so I grabbed him on the assumption I could get one good week out of him. If I get the one good week I will be happy. if that one good week turns into 2? even better.
-
if they sit him there is the risk he has a tantrum and demands a trade. normally I wouldnt be all that concerned about this, but if hes demanding a trade the perception is that the team is dealing from a position of weakness. I'd rather do what I can to keep him happy. if you plan to keep him, you want him happy anyways. if you dont plan to keep him you dont want him to be a distraction. so you do what you can to keep him happy while shopping him around.

Detroit will score enough points that they wont be able to run the conservative offense like they did against the Jets. this is one of those games where if they dont score 30 points, they likely dont win. I like those kind of games. wide open offense on both sides. lots of points. Fantasy gold

agreed. what you get with watson this year should be viewed as pretty close to Kyler's floor. his ceiling is high but given time off his chances of hitting his ceiling is likely low. hes a million dollar talent with a 10 cent head. but the pressure of being an NFL starter has not been weighing on him as hes been rehabbing his injury so this wont likely be a factor for him (not yet anyways)
-
hes got a lot of rust to shake off. I wouldnt expect much in his first game back. I could be wrong. hes talented. but given the time away from the game it may be a tall order to expect him to be in mid season form.
-
well I watched the last chargers game. I think they knew the key is to not beat themselves. They got up 2 TD early in the game and ran a conservative game plan and made sure they didnt turn the ball over to give them a shot. good strategy to win the game. but not so good for your fantasy team.
-
no starting him against the Browns is risky. sure the O line in Baltimore is good, but the D line in Cleveland is also good. possibly better than the Baltimore O line. I acknowledge until they play you dont know for sure, but this is a risky play if you actually have other good options. if you dont have good options, you have nothing to lose.

the conversation continues with other options because what if someone already has the guy rostered? I like having 2 or 3 options to choose from. I lost waller and in my league the TE pickings is quite slim. I'm streaming and playing matchups. so far with some success.
-
when you have the number of injuries the team has had this year its gonna be a mess no matter how good the team is. this season has been particularly brutal for injuries. moreso than usual. and the Giants have been hit hard from the look of it. Granted they were not playing overly well before the injuries but they did look like they might be on the verge of rounding the corner. But their season is done. I dont see a way forward for them now. Not this year anyhow.
-
no disgrace in being a homer. Just make sure you understand your bias and know where it lies and dont let it affect your judgment when you pick your fantasy team. in another sport I dont pick from my home team unless the price is so good I'd be dumb not to take it. otherwise my fantasy hockey team would be loaded with guys I like but not necessarily guys I'd win with. but hey, whatever works for you.
-
If Tyrod was playing I'd fully agree with you. but Tyrod is on the IR. I'm betting there is a dropoff now because we are dealing with third string QB and guys they can get on Waivers. Not good options.

quite possible this is exactly it. and if the guy loves to play football, hes likely not willing to sit out because he just loves to play. so in the end hes getting fair value for his service. it seems to be in line with the analysis as noted earlier in the thread. So maybe hes just happy to be playing football and getting paid. Nothing wrong with that. if it was me.... so long as the organization isnt a complete gong show and the players enjoy being there.... I'd probably be inclined to play where I'm wanted. and Chicago clearly wants him.
-
well, he came from an organization that has a reputation of being a complete gong show from top to bottom. perhaps the bar is so low that this actually looks good by comparison. not sure or maybe hes just decided hes gonna be a professional and play for the team that has him so long as they pay fair market value.

well not a lot of Danny Dimes contract is guaranteed if I recall. I think just this year, next year and maybe a bit more but I am going from memory which admittedly could be off. so correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember thinking when the deal was signed if Danny dimes didnt perform the team wouldnt be effed for many years like with the Desean Watson contract. as for Sweat, I think the way the bears wanted to use him he would likely perform in the system and as a player this may have appealed to him. that said this is speculation on my part I dont really know the reasons he signed there. maybe he likes a blues bar in Chicago and this allows him to visit the place often. it literally could be something as dumb as that. in the end his reasons dont matter. what matters now is that he is signed.
-
putting a stop to this? hes the one who initiated the change. this is the future of the NFL whether we like it or not.
-
poor guy. he is probably done. Most RB's are done after one Achilles injury. but I have never heard of anyone recovering from two of them. I suppose there is hope as he recovered from the first, but all I can say is Yikes! if he does recover and still can play pro ball, he needs to buy a lotto ticket.
